Sit 'n Sleep - Mattresses Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Their "Beat Anyone's Advertised Price" Guarantee Is Full of Loopholes I contacted Sit 'n Sleep about purchasing a queen-size Nectar Premier Hybrid mattress. Sit 'n Sleep repeatedly advertises that they will beat anyone's advertised price or your mattress is free. That sounds like a straightforward promise, and it was one of the main reasons I gave them the opportunity to earn my business. I presented two substantially lower advertised prices for the same mattress. Best Buy Furniture listed the queen Nectar Premier Hybrid for $929, with an additional 5% discount using code BESTBUY5, bringing the price down to approximately $882.55 before tax. Best Buy Furniture also identifies itself as an authorized Nectar retailer. I then found an even lower advertisement from Mattress Store San Diego for a queen Nectar Premier Hybrid at $788. The listing identified the mattress by name, size and hybrid construction and stated that it was available for local San Diego delivery. As soon as the Sit 'n Sleep representative heard the $788 price, they quickly refused to match it. I was told that the competitor was outside their "approved dealer" list. There seemed to be no serious attempt to verify whether the mattress was new, in stock or otherwise identical. The advertised price was apparently disqualified simply because Sit 'n Sleep did not consider the retailer an approved competitor. That is a major restriction that isn't emphasized nearly as prominently as the company's bold promise. "We'll beat anyone's advertised price" apparently doesn't mean anyone it means only the selected retailers, locations and advertisements that Sit 'n Sleep chooses to recognize. If the company can exclude a competitor whenever the price is too difficult to beat, the guarantee offers customers very little meaningful protection. I understand reasonable requirements, such as confirming the same model, size, condition and availability. However, if the guarantee only applies to certain authorized competitors, geographic areas, warranty arrangements or other undisclosed conditions, Sit 'n Sleep should state those restrictions just as clearly and prominently as "beat anyone's advertised price or your mattress is free." I was ready to purchase this mattress from Sit 'n Sleep if they honored the promise used to advertise their business. Instead, the experience made the guarantee feel like a marketing slogan filled with convenient loopholes. Customers should ask for every condition in writing before believing or relying on this advertisement. I left disappointed and with considerably less trust in the company. read more

Today was my first time shopping at Sit 'n Sleep and I'm so pleased that after visiting two other retailers looking for an adjustable bed and mattress I happened to drive past Sit'n Sleep. Mike Strand was amazing. In very little time he showed me exactly the type of adjustable frame and mattress that I had spent hours at other retailers looking for. Mike provided me with all the information I needed and throughly explained invoice items and warranty. Within minutes I was out the door. Thank you Mike for all your help today. Sit'n Sleep has my recommendation. read more

I went in from out of town and met Mike Strand. He knew he could sell me a mattress but still took 30 min to educate me, helped make recommendations and told me where to go in another state. he cared! He is great read more

Went in to test mattresses and ended up finding the perfect one. Thank you, Étienne -- I truly found my mattress made in heaven... I can't wait to sleep in the clouds tonight. Twenty years ago I bought a mattress here and decided to come back -- best decision ever. Étienne made sure I was choosing the right fit and took his time explaining every mattress I tried. Sit 'n Sleep definitely hired the best sales rep -- more salespeople should learn sales etiquette from him. Gracias -- I enjoyed every second of the experience. Highly recommend coming here. -Carlos Moreno Jr read more

We visited this location three times and each time we were lucky enough to work with Mike, who is the store manager. The entire experience each time was low-pressure but high information. Mike never tried to upsell us anything crazy and has a very good sense for what his customers want/need. The first bed we bought did not work out for us so we ended up doing an exchange. Mike was great with the exchange in addition to the initial sale. My only word of advice is to fully understand the exchange policy and costs as the restocking fee is steep, especially if you've bought an expensive mattress to begin with. In addition to the great service, what we really liked about going to Sit N Sleep is the wide selection. We also visited Saatva in our quest to buy a new mattress, and while their prices and quality are good, their selection is somewhat limited. read more

Etienne was phenomenal. He moved heaven and earth to make sure we were treated well. He even took responsibility for issues that weren't his fault just to be sure we were happy. This was my best experience shopping for a mattress, and probably the best customer service I've ever had from anyone in any industry. Etienne truly cares, and the world would be a better place if everyone bought their mattresses from him! read more

Mike is awesome! He knows what he's talking about and helps you get the mattress that is right for you and your needs. He took his time with us so we could narrow down from the massive selection and made sure we got the best value. read more

Joey was so helpful and knowledgeable. He listened to what I wanted, and he nailed it on the very first one he showed me. He of course had me compare it to a number of others and explained all the features of each. Even when he was offering upsells, I never felt any pressure to buy anything other than exactly what I wanted. Delivery process was also smooth and the guys were great. Arrived on time (super early in the morning), put on the mattress cover I ordered and did everything veeerrrrry quickly. If I ever need a mattress again, I'll be back. read more

My boyfriend and I are on a budget and luckily walked in to meet Josie as our sales rep. I usually have a stressful experience with sales rep but Josie actually respected and worked within our budget and showed us some awesome options without any feelings of pressure. I recommend working with her if you want to walk out with something you are excited to sleep on while also feeling comfortable with the money you spent. read more

I am posting an update on the mattress problem. Sit 'n Sleep has now rectified the defective mattress to our satisfaction.

This review is for Mike. I stopped in to try a few mattresses and found him to be highly knowledgeabl and helpful in his suggestions of mattresses to try throughout the store. He was also very transparent on pricing and seemed to truly care that I find something that I would like. The only reason I didn't buy from him is because the store didn't have a floor model to try of the mattress I was most interested in. read more

An amazing experience and would recommend going here next time you need to buy a new mattress. Joey was super helpful and didn't pressure us at all. Sit 'n Sleep - Mattresses Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Bought a bed here few days ago, feels different than the one in the store now I can't return it and I'm stuck with the most uncomfortable mattress in the world. I was super excited to be getting a new bed now I'm super disappointed and would rather sleep on the couch. UPDATE : they comment under bad reviews telling you to email them so they can give the impression that they are trying to help make your experience better or fix the issue but then never reply to your email. read more

Great experience and shout out to Peter Jenkins who helped us find exactly what we needed. The manager, Mike Strand, was great as well. Delivery and set-up by truck 35 was professional and everything went incredibly smoothly. All around a great experience. read more

First, I want to apologize to Mike in the La Brea Blvd store. The person who helped me with my purchase on July 6th was Raymond, not Mike. After reading my review here, Mike, the store manager, called me and assured me the problem would be fixed. He said that they had sent me the wrong frame (full xtra-long instead of regular full) and scheduled a pick up of the wrong one and delivery of the shorter one. Delivery was done as promised but the smart driver measured my bed and the new rails before unloading the truck: they were the same length! so they took back my rails and now I am waiting for a FULL refund. Still very disappointed with the Company. I will update my reviews if and when I get my money back. I hope they refund it FAST, since they had it in their account for 2 & 1/2 months. read more

I bought a mattress for my son at Sit 'n Sleep from Mike in 2022. Mike is one of the best salespeople I've ever dealt with, and it was such a memorable experience that when I needed another mattress, back to Sit 'n Sleep I went with my husband. This time, Alejandro was the sales person on the floor. He could not have been more bored, less attentive, or more insulting. Suffice to say he didn't seem to know the mattresses and was unable to offer any guidance. If we didn't really need a mattress, we would have walked. It was the mattress-buying equivalent of a root canal, expensive and unpleasant. read more

So, I have been dealing with Sit & Sleep on some issues with a mattress we had purchased. It has taken some time, but I had the pleasure of working with Narda in Customer Service to help us out. Despite the time, we had the blessing of it working out. It came with a great sense of relief and she was able to see what I had pointed out in coming to a resolution. Generally, I am not a vocal person, but I felt passionate to try to get this sorted. Loyalty is innate for me. I believe, even today, that both the provider and client need to work together and in turn you build history to carry it forward. Well, I can honestly attest today, that Narda and S&S came through. Thank you! A+ read more

So i needed to replace my mattress and Memorial Day has big sales on mattress. For me, I thought it will take the whole day finding the right one for the right price. My mom suggested let's see sit and sleep with founded on North La Brea that was our first stop, we encountered a salesman by the name of Mike, he was professional. He showed us different mattresses. He knew the kind of price we wanted, and then just like "Goldilocks,"I tried each and everyone of them. The Brooklyn bedding is what I chose. It was a piece of cake and tonight I will have a good night sleep. Thank you Mike and "Sit N Sleep." read more

I was shopping for a new bed from top to bottom & decided to check out S&S as well as a VERY HIGH END mattress store. Long story short, I made my purchase at S&S due to several reasons: huge selection, reasonable prices, excellent customer service, product availability & company's reputation. Chris Mora was the sales rep who walked me through the store originally - from the Bed Match experience to the selection of my final 2 choices. He was patient, professional & answered all of my questions. Mike Strand completed my purchase when I returned to the store later in the week. He, too, was very professional and went through all of the warranty info with me & explained how delivery would work. The delivery was also fantastic! I received an automated call & text the night before my delivery date with a 3 hour window. On the day of delivery, I was able to see the truck as it was getting closer & then I received a call when it was 10 minutes away. The delivery guys were great! They set the entire bed up, took my old bed & frame away and removed all the trash! All in all, this experience was fantastic & I highly recommend this store if you're shopping for anything sleeping/bedroom related! read more

Bought my first mattress here, Alejandro was so helpful and made the whole experience as easy and fun as I imagine buying a mattress could be! He was able to help us find exactly what we were looking for in the price range we wanted. He gave us every additional option possible, as a good salesman should, but was not pushy about anything we weren't interested in. The mattress was delivered today with no issues at all and we couldn't be happier! read more

Hubby and I came in to get a new mattress for our new place and the whole 2 hours we were here we were helped by Chris M. He was super attentive the whole time and helped us find a mattress that was catered most for our needs and wants and gave us space when we needed to test out all the mattresses. Never made us feel pressured into buying anything and made great recommendations. He was also super accommodating when it came to the actual purchasing part of the mattress, gave us a deal we're very happy with. The old man at Sit N' Sleep has a great operation running here and clearly hires the right people. Thank you again Chris! Will come back for our next mattress :) read more

Chris Mora was amazing, helped with all my questions, was patient and helped me make the right decision. Highly recommend

We came in to Sit 'n Sleep because we read that Larry had great customer service on Yelp. Well we am very happy to say he exceeded our expectations! We much of a fan of shopping for anything, let alone furniture but with Larry we felt comfortable explaining our preferences. Larry really listened and guided us. We tried out many different mattresses. He asked the right questions to help us make a decision on a good match for us, as well as a nice bed frame and accessories. He kept within our budget. I highly recommend this specific store if you are not sure what you need and want to have a good experience. read more
