Since I've been having shoulder problems, I've been looking for a pillow that will help me sleep on my back. My sister recommended relax the back on hall road, but this location was more convenient. I regret this deeply.
I went in the first day and a sales person helped me. No surprise, he wanted me to pick the most expensive pillow in the store. I was willing to try it. Because pillows are "personal items" you get to take the floor model for 3-4 nights, he explains, at full cost. You can then come in and either: return the pillow for full refund, exchange the floor model for a new model if you liked it, or try a different floor model. I paid and left with the trial.
The pillow was unquestionably better than the pillows I've used in the past, but it wasn't quite right. I returned 3 days later to try a different model. There's a new sales rep out and he's busy with another male customer, being a very charming salesman. I begin wandering around and trying out new pillows by myself. After a minute or two, he comes over to see what I need, and instantly decides he does NOT like me. He tells me I have the wrong pillow - this is a pillow for side sleepers - and acts as though this is my fault. He shows me the back pillow and I ask to try it. He says I can have it for one night - it's his best seller and I already took his other best pillow for the whole weekend and he needed it. I apologized for inconveniencing him, but he kept complaining, so I said "I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to break your policy, I was told I could have it for 3-4 days" and he said that was technically true but this is the best seller. Boo hoo dude. I told him that I could return the pillow to him and go somewhere else, and he informed me this was the ONLY store I could get this pillow so I should just take it.
As I left he repeated again I could only have it for one night. Sitting in my car, uncomfortably thinking about how badly I didn't want to go back the next day, I called the hall road location to see if they had the pillow. The kindest lady answered the phone and said yes, so I walked myself back into the store and returned the pillow. I politely told him I wasn't available the next day to return it (true) so I wanted to return the pillow and get a refund. He was suddenly flustered at having lost a guaranteed sale, and suddenly I could borrow the pillow for a few days!!!!!! I said no, I really wasn't comfortable with that, and dude straight up rolled his eyes at me, but he did indeed refund me. Not sure why he hated me so much, but I appreciate them honoring their agreement that I could return the pillow and be refunded. read more
