Recently purchased the human touch super novo 2.0 from William at the Relax the Back in Bellevue. Can't say enough great things about the entire process. William was great not to pressure me for the sale answered every question and knew everything about that particular model I wanted. The chair showed up at my house in Florida about two weeks later as promised. The delivery folks were great too. They unpackaged the chair and set it up in the room I requested in less than 30 minutes. This chair is fantastic. I've had back issues for a few year now and I'm thinking this chair is going to be the best thing I bought to get some lower back relief in a long time. Thanks again to everyone at relax the back read more

I highly recommend Relax the Back! My wife has severe spinal issues. William was able to help me find the perfect bed and office chair for her. She's never slept so well! They even did a white glove delivery and got us set up in under an hour. Thank you! read more

Literally the worst retail experience in my 51 years. I was lied to from start to finish about my expected delivery date for a $4500 office chair. My favorite was when William, the store manager, told me on Friday 6/23 that my chair was due in on Monday 6/26 (already 10 days late). Didnt hear anything on Monday so I called on Tuesday and they informed me my chair hadn't even shipped yet.....FROM CANADA! "if it clears customs you can expect it sometime between 7/3-7/9"! Are you kidding me? Knowing I was already upset about missing the 6/16 date you'd think William would be on top of this. Nope. I had to call the store myself to see that they had missed, yet again. My advice....avoid at all cost unless you want a real headache on your hands. Really expected more integrity from such a store. Tried to contact Corporate Relax the Back for a "teachable moment" for this franchise and they couldn't care less. It's really a shame. Was really looking forward to surprising my 6'8" husband with this special chair for his height. Turned to Steelcase instead. Disappointed doesn't even cut it. read more

This store used to be lovely. But now it's under new management. I purchased a very high-end recliner from them and it is malfunctioning. Every time I call, they say that they will address it and call me back and get the Repair engaged, but they never do and so I have to call them over and over and over again! I will absolutely not purchase anything from these people any longer! I don't respect or appreciate them wasting my time and not supporting their product! I'm gonna report them to The Better Business Bureau and to the manufacturer who supplied this product. Because they are misrepresenting how they will support the product. I'm also planning to work with my credit card to get my money back because they are not actually meeting the purchase agreement for this product. Shame on you new owners for not supporting your loyal customers !!!!! read more

I have been thinking about buying a zero gravity chair for years. Finally it was time. Mr Mc Clinton made the decision painless. He was engaging, interested in our assessment of each of the chairs and helped with information and chair testing. I am very happy with my decision and grateful for the help in making that decision. read more

With the expertise and guidance from William, the store manager, we finally found our perfect chairs. This has been an educational and satisfying journey for us, trying to find a chair for my husband who has been experiencing extreme back issues. After trying out many chairs in the showroom, frequent daily visits, we finally decided on the Hale Premier ZG Recliner. William helped my husband find the right fit and comfort. He is kind, extremely knowledgeable, highly professional, very patient and sincerely dedicated to find the right chair to fit my husband's needs. Delivery was exceptional and on time. Gerald and his team were respectful and careful in setting up and placing the chairs in our living room. Gerald tested each chair, explained the functionality of the remotes and side buttons/knobs. He made sure each chair fit the space, making sure there was enough clearance from the window when reclined in zero gravity mode. If you're looking for a perfect fit and comfort, go to Relax The Back, you won't be disappointed. read more

The store manager went all out with accommodating us with the repairing of our dated recliner. Our experience was very positive.

two years ago I purchased my zero gravity chair. I loved it. My comments were so positive that three of my friends purchased the same high end chair. I had the warranty. I went into the store to arrange repair. The lumbar support wasn't working. I waited for my appointment. They never showed up. I went back to the store and rescheduled. The technician showed up and said he couldn't fix it. The manager came out and said he would get something done for me. He later contacted me and said that Relax the Back was not going to repair it. I was in shock! The price! the service! I don't mind the price if they would have honored the warranty. Now, I need to have my purchase refunded! read more

We visited this store about 6-8 months ago and wow what a difference!!!! We returned to find that all the staff there had changed. THANK GOODNESS!!! William the new store manager was unbelievable! The kindness and professionalism was something we didn't even know we were missing. Everything was smooth and simple. He truly had our best interest in mind and worked with us. We will be returning again!! Would recommend to absolutely anyone looking for care and comfort for home and in their sales experience! Thank you again William and Relax The Back! read more

Working with this store started out fantastic we thought. Our salesperson seemed thorough and helpful. That is where the good experience ended. The order was put in back in late October. After not hearing anything or no contact for several weeks my husband went into the store the week before christmas and he was told that the chair would be in the day after christmas. Then again after not hearing anything we had a friend go in jan 25th as we are out of town, only to find out that they needed some form filled out for embroidering font. They have had over 5k of our money all this time and can't even pick up the phone to follow up with any issues that come up. And at one time they even said the chair was in, which it was not, so a wasted trip. And they said they sent emails which were never received yet they sent us emails about "how was our service". At this point I would never want to entrust this kind of money to a business that appears to tell lies or is just so incompetent S to not know what is actually going on with their orders. I would not recommend these guys as we still don't k ow if we are getting our chair anytime soon and they have made no efforts to make things right on a professional customer service level. Will update timelines and responses as they come in. read more

Store is inviting and clean. So many quality options. Staff is friendly and professional. William the manager was very knowledgeable and informative. I never felt pressured or like I was being up sold. Highly recommend. read more

No regrets From start to finish William greeted us with warmth and wonderful service. He demoed various equipment but never pushed. There was a large number of chairs to choose from and when we left I felt like we got exactly what we wanted. To top it off it arrived today and the delivery was top notch. Abraham and Gerald were careful, considerate and probably the only people I have ever seen put something together that my husband didn't want to redo. Our chair is 100% worth it and I can't wait to go back. read more

Relax The Back - Newly expanded and improved home office - Mattresses Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Thinking of buying a new mattress this year? Go to another store and don't even think about spending your hard earned money on Tempurpedic. This store will happily upsell you and then tell you they can't help you when your $3000 Tempurpedic sags after three years. Have to call the company who refuses to honor warranty because of a coffee spill. Evidently their mattress deteriorates if anything spills on it (their words). Of course, I actually did purchase the special tempurpedic mattress cover (see upsell above). However, if that leaks you only have five days to report it or they deny your claim. This store rakes in the money on overpriced goods and then forgets your name when they fail. Go somewhere else and... DON'T BUY TEMPURPEDIC!!! read more

Came in looking for guidance to help relieve long standing back trouble. As an office dweller, I spend a huge majority of my time sitting, and my chair is shall we say, not ergonomic. I needed a new solution, so I ventured into Relax the Back to explore potential solutions. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a very friendly employee (over the course of our conversation I discovered she was the ergonomic specialist). I explained my current situation and she presented a litany of potential solutions. That level of customer service is above and beyond, regardless of the business. I'm beyond thrilled with my new chair, and my back feels spectacular. Is Relax the Back expensive? Yes, without question. However, given the level of service, the employee product knowledge, and quality of the product, it's beyond money well spent. read more

I purchased a fancy ergo chair that I designed myself. The service was great for most of the experience. They do not have many of the material choices in their store for some reason. So took a gamble that my selection would look as it does in the sample book. For a chair that costs over $2000 I would expect great service. When I called to see if the chair had arrived. Some rude man answered, and said something about "another pain want to know if their order arrived" and hung up on me!! When I picked up the chair, the first salesperson, a young Black woman had no clue how to adjust the chair, when another older gentleman offered to help, she walks off and doesn't even bother to stick around to learn. I love the chair so far, but the service has alot to be desired. This is a high end store and would expect better, classier service. read more

I visited the store. It was quite nice and has some unique products. Bring your wallet. You are going to approached by sales people on a mission to make a sale. Driven by quotas? I'm giving them one star soley based on their unfortunate decision to have a spokesperson who has such an unpleasant voice. So annoying! Kudos to the person who invented the mute button. read more

About a year ago I bought a PureContour Dual Pillow by Relax the Back at their Bellevue location. I spent a good amount of time with the sales person to find just the right pillow. I have some neck issues and needed something with good cervical support. This pillow fit the bill. The sales person was very helpful and said if anything goes wrong with this pillow bring it back and we will take care of you. It worked very well for about a year and then began to break down and no longer provide the support I needed. My neck began to ache again to the point of needing to do something. Since It cost $129.00 plus tax and was supposed to last for 3 to 4 years, I decided to go back to the store to ask for a replacement under the warranty. I believe the person's name is Chelsea and she was very unhelpful. She discredited everything I said and then just looked at my pillow and said "there's nothing wrong with this" we cannot honor the warranty. Since they don't seem to stand by their word or their warranty, I will never buy another pillow or anything from them again. In addition I really don't have any desire to go back to the store. read more

I am a big fan of this place, high quality legit inventory and insightful sales people. In terms of the massage chairs it is a high end place with luxury inventory etc... Honestly it is one of those places where in terms of quality "you get what you pay for." it is high end and casual, i would certainly say in honesty that the sales people are low pressure and insightful. read more

Overall: A pretty dire shopping experience... We wanted to try the Lafuma outdoor recliner, so we visited Relax the Back. On getting into the store, there was a Lafuma staring right as us amongst other recliners, massage chairs, Tempur-pedic beds/mattresses, office chairs and desks. J decided to try the Lafuma straight away. Before his ass touched the seat, a salesperson, Jake rushed over. He was quite helpful, albeit a tad irritating. We also tried the Human Touch zero-gravity chairs. Jake was still hanging around giving us the spiel about the chairs. He hovered awkwardly as we tested the chairs. Jake then tells us that we'd just missed a promotion where they gave away a free Lafuma chair for every leather recliner that they sold, but he could extend the promotion for us if we'd like! (1 star!) We asked for a quote, went on our happy way and decided to come back the following day to place our order. We arrived around 3:00 pm and didn't leave until 3:50 pm - there was some error/system problem in the ordering/payment process. It was getting very tiresome. There were two people in the store and neither of them seemed to know what they were doing! The expected time of arrival of the chairs was between July 16-20th. On July 20th, we didn't hear anything, so we called them. The chairs HAD arrived, but they will be calling us WITHIN TWO days to arrange a delivery. Why they couldn't have arranged it when we called, I have no idea! We waited and waited and Wednesday 22nd we finally got a call saying they could deliver on Thursday 23rd during a 2 hour window. They arrived 15 minutes into their 2 hour window and they took around 30 minutes to set up. However, they forgot the outdoor recliners! They offered to make another delivery the following day... Although we got two free Lafuma outdoor recliners and free delivery thrown in, I would not recommend this place for a good buying experience. It was just a place that we could try out and buy the human touch zero-gravity chairs (which, by the way, are awesome). If I trusted online stores for these kinds of purchases, I would buy it online and it would have saved us the hassle of dealing with this store! The one star review is based on the salesperson Jake - who gave us information when we needed it, and tried to fix the problems once they arose. read more

This place is nothing but an overpriced Sleep Country meets LazyBoy. As I entered the store I thought it was interesting and probably would have taken a deeper look if the saleperson who was a woman didnt treat me like a piece of meat. I was looking for a topper that wasn't made of harsh chemicals, but this woman wanted nothing to do with me becuase I wasn't buying one of her overpriced mattresses made of deadly polyurethane foam. Talk about a shark invested pool of over salesness. If she wasn't going to bleed me for $3K she was on her way to the next victim and basically turned her back on me and walked away. read more

The employees were too "relaxed" to help. I went in a couple weeks ago for a back massage tool and the two employees were reclining in chairs. That's cool, it is a relaxation store after all. But they were both reluctant to get off their rear ends and actually do their jobs. After I made a pointed request for the gentleman employee to check the back for the color I wanted he got up to help me. Then the lady told me she liked an alternate product better but she had NO salesmanship. I had to pry to get answers as to why one was better than the other, but she was more interested in relaxing herself so I ended up standing there awkwardly reading the manuals and teaching myself about the products until the gentleman employee returned from the stock room. They didn't have the color I wanted (no biggie) I decided to go with the second version anyway (no thanks to the saleswoman). **This is the kicker** when I was ready to make my purchase the lady said, "I'll put that back for you." and halfway leaned forward to take the unwanted massager from me... ... After a moment I realized she wasn't actually going to get up and take it from me, so I walked over to her to give it to her. It was about the same distance as walking to the shelf and putting it back myself, but I have the feeling she wanted to use it while she was "hard at work." What a crack up. read more

Whatever you do, do not purchase from this place. Their products are extremely expensive and they have a no return policy, once you walk out of their store you are stuck with whatever it is you purchased. I bought a Tempurpedic Neck Pillow here in May 2012 with the help of a saleswoman. After a month-and-a-half of use, I began experiencing neck pain that spread to tingling in my fingers. After online research, I realized I should have been sold the SMALL pillow. Instead the woman sold me the queen medium based on the size of my BED! There was never any discussion about my height, weight, etc., just what kind of bed I had. Expensive products demand informed expertise. This huge shortcoming in product knowledge and customer service could have meant a serious health problem for me. read more

I am retired with back issues and purchased a chair for over $3,000. Unfortunately, it only lasted about two years because of inferior quality foam. It broke down with body weight. Per the manager of the store, it appears that the company no longer uses this foam and seems to have known it was defective. They now are using a memory foam material to solve the issue. She continued to say that there was a disconnect in our conversation to avoid a solution. The disconnect was her customer service. She said that I would have to pay an additional $300 from them to get new foam. In my opinion, $3,000 chairs should last more than two years. When I asked to speak to the owner, she refused and said that the owner would back whatever she said, so it was a waste of time. read more

Bought a chair we never used and after 2 months, I called about returning it. But it was after the 30 day return window. I said there was not a mark on it--if the delivery people came and saw one single sign of wear I'd pay for their time and keep the chair. No dice.Very upsetting to throw out $3500 for something we never use! I think the novelty was fun in the store, but you can't read while you are in it and you can't see the TV if your feet are all the way up. Terribly expensive mistake! read more

I am a Sports & Spine physician (MD and PhD) who works in Bellevue. The Relax the Back store is my go-to referral source for all types of items related to low back pain and athletic back injuries I've worked Relax the Back stores in other cities, and the current management of the Bellevue store is easily the best managed Relax the Back stores I've worked with. Reading some of the negative reviews listed below, they are clearly referring to the old management. The current management is highly customer focused, which is one of the reasons I refer patients there regularly The quality of products at the Relax the Back stores are universally high. They only sell high end items. I learned from my own experience as a customer that while the prices on some of the items in the store may seem high at first, given their quality and reliability, they are a good investment. For example, I had rotated through a litany of chairs for my home office, and would get rid of them within a year either because they broke or were not ergonomically appropriate, but the chair I got from Relax the Back 7 years ago (at their Pittsburgh store) has held up solidly, and the memory foam support still feels like new When it comes to things related to your back, it's hard to beat the combination of variety, quality, and customer service of the Relax the Back store in Bellevue read more

Relax The Back in Bellevue is THE BEST. We bought our Inada massage chair there and the team at Relax The Back is like a family. Of course the product was great (they only carry the highest quality) but more importantly, the service was amazing. Absolutely incredible. The delivery, assembly, positioning in the home, testing, etc. was world class. They will not stop until you are 100% satisfied. So I bought a chair approximately six years ago for $1300. I travel 50% of the time so the office chair has light use. The arms are splitting.so I called the store to find out how to invoke the lifetime warranty to repair the arms. Guess what, the warranty is only for the chair not the arms...but wait didn't I buy the chair with arms???? The arms only have a 2 year warranty and cost $80/arm to replace. So much for standing behind your product. read more

I went to Relax the Back to get a kneeling chair, I found the manager to be very knowegable and that they were willing to work with me to find the right product for my needs. They let me try several styles and said that they have a 30 day period to try it out and if its not the one then I can bring it back and try a different one or get my money back. This is perfect becaue it will take me a week of sitting in it to really be able to tell if this is the right chair for me with my back condition. Thay seem very open to working with me to ensure that I end up with the right product. In my opinion the customer service is well worth the cost, These guys seem to only carry the higher end stuff, but if your back is as tempramental as mine, then the cheap stuff won't due and isn't worth the pain of discovering it won't due. read more

Too bad about the other reviews here... maybe things have improved since then? Anyways, I recently made a sizable purchase at Relax The Back [Bellevue] and am, at this point, 100% satisfied. The staff was extremely helpful, multiple employees went out of their way to make my experience a good one. Besides all that, my new furniture is ridiculously awesome. We recently purchased two office chairs from Relax the Back. We didn't exactly know what we wanted except that we wanted to invest in good quality, ergonomically sound chairs. Amber was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with us and did not pressure us at all. She listened to our needs (mine very different from my husband's) and expertly guided us to our wonderful new chairs. My husband reports his Lifeform chair is like sitting on a cloud (only much more supportive). I love my Humanscale. Because they are custom-made it does take a few weeks from order to delivery but Amber kept us apprised via email. The delivery went well and was on time. All in all a great purchasing experience. As others have said, the items are pricy, but we feel we got excellent quality for the money we spent. read more
