A friend and I found this place by chance and it has quickly become a regular stop anytime I'm even close! The food is absolutely great, with something new and pleasantly different on the specials list each time I've been there. The only thing better than the food is the staff! This is my favorite breakfast place. I have tried a lot of different places in the area but I always come back here. The portion sizes are great and the food is even better. You have to try the pancakes, they are delicious. Whenever I go here there are a lot of people and there is typically a wait, but they are very capable of turning tables quickly and getting people sat down and eating. The wait staff is very nice and friendly as well. If you are in the East Longmeadow/Hampden area I would definitely recommend eating here. read more

Always on point meals. Walk in- seat yourself, classic breakfast joint menu to look through. Nothing overly pricey for the portions/quality. Breakfast is terrific. Always a brief wait on the weekends but well worth it. I have tried several menu items and have yet to be disappointed. Two styles of home fries and both are good depends if you like them fried or grilled but a nice compliment to whatever u order. Loved the food! A low key place but the breakfast is phenomenal and better than Bernie's. I had the corn beef hash with eggs and it was cooked perfect and so well seasoned. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The cook knows the locals around and was even cooking up something new for them to put on the menu. Loved it and will return again. read more

I'm not big on breakfast, but Reid's is my go-to spot when I want more than a coffee and a bagel. First off, the guy who runs (owns?) the place is GREAT. He seems to remember most return visitors and makes you feel instantly at home. Personally, I'd like to see Reid's in a slightly larger location...you can wait up to 20 minutes for one of their dozen or so tables...but it is SO worth the wait. The Hole in the Wall is my fave -- two over easy eggs cooked in hollowed out, buttery grilled bread with bacon or sausage and breakfast potatoes. I am a potato lover and their breakfast spuds -- with peppers, onions and spices - are amazing. The eggs are always cooked perfectly and the OJ, I believe, is fresh-squeezed. I've never had the coffee because I'm an iced coffee drinker and most places don't do iced coffee well. Being at Reid's is like hanging out at a friend's place. I have even gone in there alone and ate breakfast at the counter. The one bad experience I had there was for lunch -- the worst BLT I've ever had in my life. I love BLTs and I love Reid's, but I won't be enjoying the two together I guess. For me, Reid's is, hands-down, the BEST breakfast place around. My kids love it too, and they have lots of great options. The guy is definitely the star in terms of friendliness and service. I recently discovered this place a few weeks ago when looking for a spot to enjoy a yummy breakfast. So I turned to my fellow Yelpers for assistance as I do in unknown territory. The food did not disappoint! I had the gigantic blueberry pancakes which look and taste like they contain authentic New England berries. I also like the potatoes with onions and peppers. The latter have been slightly overcooked my last 2 visits, but not to the point where I couldn't devour them :) The portions are really enough for two people to eat, and the prices aren't unreasonable. I have invited other family members, and they too have enjoyed their experience. When my eleven year old nephew was impressed, I knew I had found a winner! The only area that I would suggest for slight improvement would be orienting new customers to how things operate, i.e. taking a number when its crowded. On our last visit, we were waiting for 5 minutes before customers that came in after us immediately retrieved a number because they were regulars, and knew the lay of the land. Best breakfast in the 413. The pancakes are soft and moist the bacon is crispy and delicious. The breakfast potatoes are flavorful and spicy while home fries are hardy and delicious. The staff is very friendly and it's always worth the wait. read more
