Pricey | friendly, helpful staff My family and I have been longtime members with REI. We've seen it evolve into the trendy outdoor store you see today, so I'm pretty familiar with this brand and the items it carries. It used to be your basic recreational equipment store for all things outdoors at more affordable prices, but now it's pushing more clothing at higher prices with some gear for specific activities. Here, you'll find two types of people shopping: people who want to LOOK like they're climbing Everest but only ever walk around the mall and the young recreationalist who lives for weekend warrioring. It's a great place to buy items for specific sports like rock climbing, water and snow sports, backpacking, and camping. However, even some camping equipment can be found at other stores. It has an excellent selection of clothing/footwear, casual and tech. *Important note: shirts can be expensive, like $90 compared to a similar one at Cabela's for much less. Cue the social signaling. If you're looking for basic camp items, try looking at Dick's or Cabela's. If you're into backpacking, then REI will carry the specific lightweight quality items you'll need. They also have great gear rental service, bike repair, and classes. Will was very patient and helpful with helping us buy our first kid bike for our daughter. I like this place for when I know what I need to buy, but otherwise my wallet hates it when I drop in on a whim.

Horrible customer service. Remind me not to renew our membership or ever shop here again.

It's your standard REI. Conveniently located off highway and near other stores. Clean, organized, well stocked.

They treat their members right! I got $200 hiking boots for $5 at their return sale, plus a couple of sweet pairs of sandals. Wonderful.

Their whole staff is super friendly but got a chance to meet Tim who is running the show (and helps elderly folks in his spare time) and he is just an absolute steward of the industry and really a stand up person. If you are getting pads, trust me go with Kool Stop you will not be disappointed. Excellent pad compounds that stop better and last longer and their Tire Jack has saved me many times on some tough to mount tires. Plus if you have a vintage brake they probably make pads for it currently. New new stock for those Weinmann 6 dots or Shimano Adamas AX brakes and many more.
