The price was very reasonable for the rental, and Brielle was very helpful at the register as well. I'm only sad that I have to travel all the way to Colorado to visit them again. But when I do make a trip back, I'll definitely be visiting Brown Cycles!

Chris immediately greeted me and introduced himself. We got to talking about my intrest in mnt and gravel riding and I expressed my new intrest in vintage road bikes. Chris walked me to the back room stocked with cool old used bikes from all eras. Chris educated me on proper sizing and different bike designs and components throughout the years. Before I knew it I left the shop a happy new owner of a vintage 70's Nishiki road bike. Chris's passion and knowledge for everything bikes was really cool to see. He's gained a new customer that will continue to stop in for all my bike needs. It was nice to find a bike shop that makes you feel welcome no matter what your knowlegde or experience with bikes is.

We were able to walk .5 miles and pick up our bikes and pickup took about 5 minutes. We signed our waiver, they gave us locks, and we were on our way. They have the option of regular or electric bikes and we chose regular bikes for our 7 mile winery loop. The bikes had baskets on them for whatever you'd need to carry for the day (also great for boxes of wine ). Returning the bikes was just was easy as pickup - if not easier. We were told to have the bikes back before 10 the next morning. We were able to drop them off in back and lock them up if it wasn't open hours which gave us tons of freedom in our schedule. Definitely recommend renting bikes at Rapid Creek if you're visiting palisade! A few of our group went through the hassle of bringing theirs with and I was much happier with the easy rental.

This bicycle shop is as good as it gets in my opinion. I live in Denver but choose to use this shop…read morefor major purchases and fits. John, the owner, is helpful, knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to make sure you are 100% happy with your purchase. I purchased a custom seven bicycle from John. Ordering a custom bike is an experience and John made it a great one. He managed the details with Seven making sure that the bike was what I was wanting and expecting. He stayed late when I came into town to pick it up and complete the fit. He goes above and beyond for customers plus he is just a nice guy. The customer's satisfaction matters to John. If you are looking for more than just a bike shop this is it. You will not be dissapointed if you use this shop.

Back when John, owner of The Bicycle Studio, worked as a physical therapist I was a regular client…read moreof his. Back then he did a great job and was sincerely interested in his customer's best interests. I sent many of my friends to him and at least one even ordered a custom bike through him. All that changed, though, when he opened his own shop, The Bicycle Studio. Now he seems much more concerned about getting as much money out of his customers as possible. This is most disturbing when charges for services without first getting the customer's approval, which is a sneaky way to make money if you ask me. Matters are not likely to improve, though, since John does not take constructive criticism well. In my last experience with him I felt that, once again, I had been overcharged for a service, this time a recheck on a fitting. This time I decided not to let it slide. After pointing out that what I was charged was not consistent with his own policies on his web site, John became defensive, demeaning and insulting. I eventually received a partial refund (I still feel I was cheated) and was told by John "find another bike shop". Keep in mind, this after I had done business with him for quite some time and sent many of my friends his way. I've waited some time since that experience before writing this review thinking that he might gain some wisdom and realize that in me he had an opportunity to learn how to improve his business. That hasn't happened. He's a good physical therapist, seems to know his stuff about bike fitting, but is (based on the bad experiences of others) a poor bike mechanic and tends not to take responsibility for his mistakes. Worst of all he thinks he's doing you a favor by allowing you to be his customer, exemplifying the sort of arrogance that the sport has in abundance but could easily do without. Not surprisingly, I no longer refer others to John; on the contrary, I make it a habit to warn others about his business practices and have had to apologize to those friends I did refer to him.
