Rapid Creek was so easy to make a reservation at and everything went so smoothly! They are right on main street which is walking distance from many popular places to stay if you're a tourist. We were able to walk .5 miles and pick up our bikes and pickup took about 5 minutes. We signed our waiver, they gave us locks, and we were on our way. They have the option of regular or electric bikes and we chose regular bikes for our 7 mile winery loop. The bikes had baskets on them for whatever you'd need to carry for the day (also great for boxes of wine ). Returning the bikes was just was easy as pickup - if not easier. We were told to have the bikes back before 10 the next morning. We were able to drop them off in back and lock them up if it wasn't open hours which gave us tons of freedom in our schedule. Definitely recommend renting bikes at Rapid Creek if you're visiting palisade! A few of our group went through the hassle of bringing theirs with and I was much happier with the easy rental. read more

We had a great day on the Palisade Plunge, thanks to our shuttle company! We met the store owner a bit before 8am. He showed us the map and described in detail the various sections of the trail. We had planned to ride all 32 miles, but after our briefing decided on the lower 20 instead, which the owner recommended. We knew he was giving us good advice, because the shuttle to the lower trailhead was actually longer and more costly for him. We are so glad we listened! The bottom 20 miles is the best part, and even for strong riders, is a long day. We had enough energy and water to ride the best sections of the Plunge. We also knew the owner and his staff cared about our well-being because they asked us to check in when we finished. Great day with a great company! Highly recommend! read more

Rapid Creek Cycles is a great place to rent a bike and check out the nearby wineries. The staff were super nice and helpful, and they provide a nice map of local wineries with great recommendations! They also have electric bike you can rent, but those have to be returned by 5PM unlike the regular bikes which you can keep until the next morning. So if you're wanting to hit a lot of wineries it'd be better to get the regular bikes so you can take your time. read more

Rapid Creek Cycles is amazing! It was very easy to make reservations by phone and they answered all my questions. When we arrived the bikes were ready and a friend was able to add an additional bike to our reservation an hour before we arrived. During our wine tasting my pedal fell off and an employee drove all the way out to Maison La Belle Vie Winery to bring me a new bike. Great place and great location! We were staying in Grand Junction and drove over for a little wine bike tour! We got there around 3 on a Saturday not realizing a lot of the wineries close at 5. The gentleman that helped us was so great! When he handed us the map he let us know which wineries had food and which were open later. Jeff got us checked in, fitted with bikes and went over the best stops around town all within ten minutes. They have a great selection of bikes, from electric assist bikes to the 7 speed cruisers. They also rent out SUPs (paddle boards) and kayaks as well. These guys really know their stuff. read more

A group of us rented bikes from Rapid Creek this past weekend for our getaway - wine weekend. It was such a fun time and this place was a great help! Most of us opted to rent our bikes so we knew we wouldn't run into any issues with flat tires on our own bikes, and I'm happy we did. The basket on the back is great and was helpful for storing my bag and filling it with wine. One of our group brought his own bike, and he had to replace a tube and then keep pumping his tire the whole time. Next year I want to reserve ahead for an e-bike so that way I can make the whole day as near the end I was quite tired but it was totally worth it. We bike to over 6 wineries and about 10 miles. Cannot wait to be back and we will always use these guys from now on! read more

The owner opened early for us and it really made the difference of being able to have time to fit it in or not. Our group of 4 reserved spots on the shuttle for the Palisade Plunge with Rapid Creek Cycles in Palisade on Aug 27. Got there early and listened to the briefing by Rondo at the store. He laid out all the nuances, features, and risks with attempting to complete the Plunge. He gave great direction on water tips and possible bailout locations. Needless to say we wanted to conquer the entire ride from the start. The Plunge is not for everyone. It is a fantastic ride with exposure to the most varied terrain of any mountain bike trail. If you do go be prepared for anything and watch the weather. Anything above 85 for the day's high is too much. We all took about 6 liters of water (2 full Camelbak bladders) and a 32 ounce bottle with an electrolyte drink. We drank about 95% of what we brought. It took us 8 hours to fully complete. Be prepared! Because it was getting late, Rondo came looking for us to make sure we were safe. We had just gotten down and met him on the road. That is a true testament to his devotion to the customer and hoping everyone has a safe ride. The first 11.5 miles from Mesa Top to Shirttail is a very nice rolling trek through the medows on the Grand Mesa. After stopping for a R&R at Shirttail the rest of the ride is varied among trips through the aspen, then to Otto's Wall (I recommend walking down this. It's steep with sharp hairpins). After the wall it opens up but don't be fooled. There are very technical sections and you must be fully focused on your next move and pedal placement. We did walk a lot of the trail on some of the loose skree with steep dropoffs. Overall an epic ride, fantastic views, fun and challenging terrain. Not disappointed at all. It was everything we expected. read more

Rented bikes here to do the fruit and wine byway and it couldn't have been a smoother experience. The guy at the shop even gave us a rundown of the map with his personal suggestions before sending us off. I would have preferred that they rent bikes without metal baskets on the back (you have to step through the center to mount, and there is nothing to hold onto to hold the bike up when you stop.) But they do offer mountain bikes for those who would prefer that option. They didn't push us to rent or use helmets. Great experience! Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun way to see Palisade. read more

Best place to get your bikes in Palisade!! The shop is right in the center of town, so an easy walk for most vacationers. Bikes were reasonable at $39/day, and we were able to pick them up the night before so we could get on the road early the next day. Easy to book - owner Rondo is fantastic to work with! In the shop at pickup, B was super friendly and helpful in getting us all properly fitted and ready to roll (don't forget your ID when you pick up - you need your ID and to sign a waiver!). They have free maps available with some choice local sites marked, and B had great insight on happenings around town. The bikes all worked well - we got simple cruiser styles, perfect for leisurely rides between wineries (and all equipped with a basket). They provided helmets and locks, as well. Drop off was a snap - just lock the bikes out front if the shop is closed for the day! Easy peasy! And since they weren't due until 10 the next morning, we could've squeezed in an early morning ride! Great bike shop!! We will definitely rent from them again, and highly recommend them to anyone visiting lovely Palisade! read more

Rondo and staff went above and beyond expectations. He communicated with me for months via email to assure my reservation even when he thought he would not be opened. Offered to lock the bikes up for me and my sister. Luckily they were open. We were guided with a map which he personally highlighted the trail and his favorite ones, which were the best. Vans are clean and comfy. Drivers had water, sunscreen, etc... and gave a good description of what to expect from the trail. Offer two drop offs, a lower and higher depending on the length of ride you're looking for. Convenient locale and nearby parking lot to leave your vehicle for the day. Timely loading. Found this bike rental shop on yelp and loved it! Prices were responsible and great customer service. We rented two cruiser bikes at $40 each and one motorized bike at $50. The guy who helped us answered all of our questions and recommend this great sandwich shop near by. He also gave us a little map and showed us where to go to check out beautiful scenery and near by winery and a peach distillery. I definitely recommend the motorized bike!
