I came to the Bicycle Outfitters shop desperate for help with a broken rear wheel and an event ride scheduled the next day. Although they were busy and had 5 other repairs to complete that afternoon, Brad stopped what he was working on to help with my wheel. Even though he was busy, he took his time to make sure my wheel was solid and in good condition for the next day's event. One of the best bike shop experiences in my 73 years. Brad gave me some good tips and was easy to talk with. His repair cost was about half what I had expected and would have paid at my LBS in Minnesota. They had a lot of inventory. They also rent bikes. Overall it was an excellent interaction and I definitely will return to Bicycle Outfitters on my next visit to Grand Junction. I highly recommend them for repairs and purchases. read more

Bicycle Outfitters - Great adventure! They gave us a pad for the truck as well! - Bike Rentals Near Me - Grand Junction, Colorado

Brad, Mike and everyone else are simply professional and courteous, attentive and not rushed. I won't go anywhere else!

We had new Rocky Mountain bikes to rent. So we were pleased. Service was friendly, even with a busy shop. I only wish they had half day rentals. We started our rental at noon and returned the bikes at closing. We live out of town and don't have bike racks, so couldn't bring them back in the morning. We like the stretch of stores in their location. Good Thai food next door and a hip barber next to the restaurant. read more

Whenever I get tuneups, they do a phenomenal job and get it done quickly, all at a very affordable price. These guys are always super happy to help and they get the job efficiently and go the extra mile. read more

My interaction began a few weeks ago when I spoke with Brad about my upcoming trip to Grand Junction, Colorado. I explained my experience and what I was looking for in a mountain bike rental, and info on the local trails. He was quite receptive and very informative. I probably took up 10 minutes of his time but he answered all of my questions and gave me some good suggestions. When I got to the shop I was helped by Blaine. He set me up with my bike, pedals and helmet, gave me a few tips on the local trails and when asked suggested a place to eat, even a recommendation on a good thing to order there. I got a nice full suspension bike the first day.....a Rocky Mountain Instinct, helmet and SPD pedals. Perfectly set up and maintained extremely well. An excellent ride. Great deal ($80 for the day)! Decided to go for a Salsa hardtail for my next 2 days. All they had available was an XL which is a bit large for me but it was another killer ride. Very well maintained. And I got a multi day discount! Thank you, Brad, Blaine and all of the crew at B.O.! Great service. Killer bikes. Awesome prices. I will definitely see you next time! read more

Excellent shop, needed a hard to find part for my 30 yr old road bike, these folks searched their parts bins until they found a part that matched mine and the price was more than fair. Would go back back there for parts and service. read more

These guys are so friendly and helpful. It's just a pleasure doing business there. My go-to shop for everything bicycle. Thanks, guys.

I recently visited Grand Junction and while I was there the battery on the D12 shifters needed charging. The owner Brad Stewart welcomed us and made us feel very welcomed. Mike worked on my bike and not only charged it but plugged my bike in and updated my system. I travel quite frequently and walking into a bike shop and having your issues fixed with professionalism and a smile it heartwarming. JoAnna Hydock read more

Brad and Tyler were fantastic! We went in for a quick tune-up on an old bike prior to my first mountain bike riding experience. They were quick and inexpensive, plus they gave a recommendation for a great beginner ride. We ended up back at their shop after the ride since the old chain broke near the end of the ride (luckily). Again they were great and put a new chain on my bike. I'd highly recommend this shop for repairs as well as new bikes or anything bicycle related. read more

Brad the owner treats you with respect even though I only needed a flat repair. It was a Sunday and he immediately fixed my flat and sent me on my way with a smile. Best bike shop anywhere. read more

Rolled into the shop about 12:30, I had called in and with lots of inventory available no reservation was required (8/28, Monday). Jeff helped me out on my first ever rental (Felt) and he was relaxed and cool about getting me outfitted and on my way. I brought my own shoes and confirmed they had the right pedals. Returned about 4:30 after a Colorado Monument Road Ride. Bike operated great (haha but had a flat 200 feet from the return so I just walked it in, sorry guys). Tip-Top gear and Tip-Worthy service. read more

Bicycle Outfitters - Thanks for the rental Bicycle Outfitters - Bike Rentals Near Me - Grand Junction, Colorado

Super friendly family-run vibe at this local bike shop. We were renting bikes to climb the National Monument, and they hooked us up. This was the cheapest place in town that had what we needed, and they sent us with all the accessories we might possibly need (co2 cartrige, spare tube, tools, etc). I figured we'd have to buy that stuff. The bikes they rented were top notch (in fact, I want a new road bike because of it... d'oh), and I was impressed - the owner fit me perfectly the first time just from eyeballing. The one thing I will mention is that the shop was SLAMMED on a Sunday (most of the staff was at a race out of town) and they were understaffed, and we waited a while to get the bikes, but they were super friendly the whole time. If we were in a hurry, they would have been on top of it, but we weren't. If I'm in GJ again without my bike, I'll be renting from them again! read more

Rented a full suspension Salsa Horsethief from these folks whilst on a business trip to GJ. Super friendly help, bike was sound and rode like a dream. Good vibe from this place. read more

Me: ball of nerves, concerned about having shipped my bike 3000 miles to do the Ride The Rockies. Is my road companion ok? Bicycle Outfitter mechanic: it's all good. We love your ride as much as you do. We will make sure all is safe. When I have dreams about wonderful bike shops, they look a lot like Bicycle Outfitters. A great selection of sweet road and off-road machines, and mechanics who will go the extra mile for you. Why? Because they love bikes. So glad I stopped in today - if you are in town, give these kind folks a visit, you'll be glad you did!! read more

Sunday 2:45PM. I was building my bike back up after we flew in from NY and I couldn't get the front wheel on because the front disc calipers were closed shut. Our five day ride would start the next morning at 8. I called Bicycle Outfitters out of the blue and Brad answered. He said the shop closed at 3. I said I had no transportation to his shop and he answered: "Where are you?" I told him and he said he'd stop by after he closed the shop. I just couldn't believe it. He actually came by our hotel and fixed the caliper! This man makes house calls! You don't get customer service like this everyday and I'm not even a customer! Like doctors used to do back in the day. When I asked what I owed him he waved me off with a smile and a story. What a terrific way to start a bike trip. From bad Karma to good Karma because of Brad. read more

This shop has an excellent offering of bikes, and they go above and beyond. Great people, great shop.

Perhaps my favourite bike shop ever! Brad and his team are truly the best! Nice, helpful and down to earth! Every time I'm in GJ... this is a must stop. They will always take care of their customers - but also those of us who just stop in as we pass by! I want them in my town! I'd go no where else!! Go there.... read more

Was told to pay for my son's tire, and for my son and I to leave store and never come back. I was 2nd in line, in a line of roughly 6 other people. Being way caught off guard I asked what we did. He just kept repeating louder and more aggressive he became. I was standing in line waiting to pay. I didn't say not a word one the whole time, til the owner started saying these things to me. So I was very confused. When asked to explain he would not. We had spent thousands of dollars in his establishment over the yrs, and never had a problem. He even went so far as to have me served with a restraining order at my place of work, and my son while school was in session. To this day I still have no idea what happened. bad business etiquette. read more

This group of bike nerds rule! Everyone is super helpful and really know their bikes. The mechanics are top notch and always want the customer to be happy. We were passing through Grand Junction on the way to Moab when we realized one of our Rocky Mounts bike rack parts was missing. We rolled into Bicycle Outfitters after learning that they might have Rocky Mounts parts and met Brad, pretty much the nicest human to ever work at a bike store. While he didn't have the actual RM part in stock, he helped us brainstorm a solution, gave us directions to the hardware store, then helped us cut and install the piece we needed to make our rack whole again. He absolutely saved our bikes and made a stressful situation much more calm and chill. Thanks, Brad! read more

Yelp does not let me post the whole review (not enough space, too many words). To read the whole story with pictures, etc. go to: http://joseph5823.wix.com/mysite. If you are in Grand Junction and need someone to work on your bike, do not go to this store: After the owner could not fix my bike, he said I either have to buy a wheel from him, leave the bike with him (which he knew I was not planning on doing) or he will put the bike back together and let me take it with me. I said I will take the last option. Then he said: Then I have to charge you for the labor. I was planning to give him something for his efforts, but when he demanded it, I no longer were willing to give him anything. I said you have not done anything but banging hard on my wheel and I have no idea what that did to the wheel. He suddenly gave me the unattached cassette wheels, the skewer (and other separated items) that were taken from the bike, and took the rest of the bike from the stand and told me leave the bike shop. I told him I will give him a very bad review in the Internet. It was then that he backed up and said to leave the bike there and he will fix it before 10:00 AM the next day, and I can have it then. Before this happened he asked me to come into the work space (shop) while he was working on the bike. All the above conversation took place while we were in the middle of the shop and other employees were all around us (around 6 of them). After we got into the heated argument, the employees started crowding us. Even after he started walking out of the shop with my bike to kick me out, they still were crowding us. I felt very insecure and threatened. When he suggested I leave the bike with him until tomorrow, it was a relief and I said OK, left the bike there, and left immediately. Do not go to this shop. You will not be served well. Yelp does not let me post the whole review (not enough space, too many words). These guys know there sh*t. I have a good grasp of mt bikes and more often than not bike shops do maintenance senile, drunk grandmas. What a great shop! We are from out of town on a mtn biking trip to Fruita when the XT crank broke on my new bike. I called Bicycle Outfitters and they said come on down. It was mid day Saturday in spring. They had me in and out in less than an hour all set with a used part that fit. Very reasonable price for the fast work. This is what local bike shops everywhere should be like. Can't say how grateful I am to be able to keep riding. Great job guys!!! Cheers! read more
