The highlights were of course the scrambled eggs stir fried with actual morsels of black truffle, not the synthetic truffle oil in some French fries. The taste was amazing and very savory, but of course we're leaving room for something else. The other star was the unlimited French oysters. I had 6 and I wanted to have more but was too stuffed with all the other food. They were soooo fresh and delicious - the right balance of brine and creaminess. (Not sure which variety it was) Their other hot food was good too, like the lamb chop with mint sauce and the pasta. And of course desserts! Fresh made pandan waffle, pandan short bread, panna cotta, chestnut cake, etc. I love how everything is tiny so I could try everything! Very popular buffet in HK…read more I've done the dinner buffet twice, which includes just about everything you can imagine... salad, breads, cheese, cold cuts, sushi, lobster, sashimi, soups, meats, etc. Breakfast buffet is equally extensive with a waffle station, omelet station, fresh baked goods, yogurt, eggs, sausage, assorted cheese, dim sun, and more. As much as I've enjoyed the buffets, I like the "a la carte" menu better. Here you can really enjoy the real kitchen skills of the chefs working, plus you have more interaction with the servers, who are always very formal and friendly. Lunch is my preferred time to be there. It's not too crowded so, usually there's no wait time. I usually start with a Strawberries and Cream Ice tea. Has the strawberry flavor with the smooth notes of the cream but not sweet, and it's very refreshing. The fries are always cooked perfectly, the meal I remember most is the, perfectly cooked Lobster & Scallops Risotto. The Lobster Bisque is deliciously comforting, and very flavorful. Another favorite was the Mira-Misu. Love the presentation, simple but pretty. The Latte is always great! Not bitter, and right temperature. They also offer salads, sandwiches and Pasta dishes. The restaurant is comfortable, simply decorated with big modern chandeliers and wavy white walls, to match the entrance of the Mira Hotel, where the restaurant is located. To the back, you will see two thick, almost ocean color, glass walls full with wines and this gives way to the kitchen and buffet area. The restaurant, at lunch time is perfect for business meetings as well. As I said, not too crowded, and big enough tables to discuss documents while enjoying some refreshments. If staying at the Mira Hotel, it's a no brainer... it's convenient, and delicious; if you're looking for a generous buffet, whether you're staying at the hotel or not, this is a great option.

I unfortunately can't give 5 stars because I found a hair in my food (it wasn't mine, as I have short hair; this was a long hair from a woman most likely), but everything overall tasted pretty good. We had two claypots (salted fish with meat cake, shrimp paste with pork), their onion and soy sauce chicken and veggies. The salted fish and meat cake claypot had generous portions of both ingredients. The pork in the meat cake tasted fresh and the salted fish was definitely salty enough. The shrimp paste with pork was also very good. The shrimp paste that the pork was cooked in was just strong enough to have flavor but not overbearing. The cut of pork has the texture of pork neck meat - tender but with a slight chew to it. Both pots produced really good burnt rice. The burnt rice at the bottom of the claypot was crispy and didn't stick to your molars. The onion and soy sauce chicken was tender but a little bit under cooked. Still edible, but there was a light pink to bigger pieces of meat. The veggies that we ordered were very bright green and well cooked with garlic, even though we actually ordered with soup. The staff were nice and patient, no rushing you in and out. The restaurant itself felt like it had been there for a long time, but it wasn't dirty or grubby. My only complaint was that the food took a long time to come (at least 20 minutes). The server warned us that the claypot rices would take long, which I understand, but the chicken and veggie should have been quicker. It could have also been that I was really hungry so felt especially impatient. Overall, I had a good dining experience it here and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
