The staff did an excellent job with my daughters 8th birthday party. There was a tour of the film rooms with Jimmy, lots of history and technology, the kids loved the catwalk looking down into the theater lobby. Our party room was decorated beautifully with Rio 2 theater bling. The package included the party room with all the trimmings, plates, cups, napkins, soda a freezer for the ice cream cake. A lighter because we didn't have one. A party host named Chris who reserved our theater seats, delivered all the drinks, snacks and 3-D glasses. He was awesome. The least stressful kids party yet! This is a nice newer theater. The chairs are super comfy and all the theaters have stadium seating. That translates into a solid movie experience. What would make this a 5 star review you ask? Better options at the snack counter. All they offer is grossly overpriced popcorn with "butter", carbonated high fructose corn syrup, candy packed full of sh*tty ingredients and other non noteworthy crap. Took the kids to see Monster Trucks (summer movie express line up, $1 tickets) yesterday morning. Great deal, right? Except the popcorn and drinks are more expensive than other theaters, enough to offset the sweet ticket price. Additionally, screen 3 has really narrow seats. They also auto tilt and the seat folds up when empty - NOT GOOD for small kids trying to hold popcorn on their lap. This is also the first theater I've visited that wanted to check my purse for contraband. read more

It's your basic corporate movie theater: overpriced and with the usual assortment of treats for sale. The seats are comfortable, but the sound...OMG! The previews were blasted so loudly that I actually felt pain in my ears! Someone needs to measure the decibel level in here and set the sound to something that won't damage a person's hearing over time. read more

It's always nice to have a theater with a lot of screens. That means mores movies playing and more play times. Most regal theaters are going to be the same. You can't beat stadium seating. One downfall is the lack of people selling tickets on busy nights. Food and drinks are always over priced at the theaters. Good: The most comfortable seating and best audio/video quality of any mainstream theater in Lane County. Bad: That's not saying much. I've seen a half dozen movies here over the past couple years and no one has ever tried to search me...not that I'd let them. Get real! The first time they try to search me in any fashion will be the last time I ever visit any Regal theater. While I won't allow anyone to search me in any setting where security isn't necessary to preserve human life, I don't see why people are so determined to bring in food. Fast service. Not sure why people stand in line at the ticket counter when there's automatic machines (with no fee) to the left of the ticket booth. Love the club card. Student discount Sundays thru Thursday. Free candy Mondays with club card. They usually have a wide selection of movies with a good variety of times. Comfortable seats, good sound and CLEAN. This is the biggest theater I've ever been to. More food choices then most diners. They even serve alcohol. Friendly staff. Comfy seats.

I have only been to this theater a few times since its opening, a consequence of on demand internet movies and my Netflix subscription. The quality of the seats, sound, and movies seems to be on par with most modern movies theaters I have been to, although I have not yet seen a 3D movie here. I do have to agree with everyone else that the prices for tickets and especially at the food stand are very expensive and are part of the reason I rarely go to the theater, one month of Netflix or one movie in the theater. I also find the 'security' to be extremely intrusive. I have had a my bag searched every time I have attended a movie here (presumably for video cameras and outside food). The ban on outside food was especially troublesome when I attended the Harry Potter (5) movie here. The theater in Springfeild had been understanding to people bring outside food into the line while they waited. Not so here, all food was turned away at the door to the theater (rather rudely) and they meticulously searched everyone's bag, even checking the pockets of my coat before entering the theater (although missing the candy and rice bowel from panda express hidden inside my jacket). I have also noticed the extremely sticky floors and food it very odd. My suggestion; skip the theater, get a Netflix subscription and watch some of the classics. read more

It seems that a lot of people are not overly fond of this theater. My experience at this theater, while visiting Eugene, was quite positive. We went to an afternoon showing of Ender's Game in the IMAX theater. The tickets were not cheap, but then again, I did not expect them to be. The sound and picture quality were both excellent. The seats were fairly comfortable as well. The drink I had at the concession was overpriced (however, I am used to that). The bathroom was acceptably clean. Let's face it--if you want to see a first-run movie in Eugene, you don't have much choice. Odd, for a town of over 100,000, but you can either go to Springfield, where gum sticks to the carpet, the dollar show (which isn't even a dollar anymore), the Bijou (which is superb for art house movies), or David Minor (which isn't first-run). Although you're stuck with it, Regal isn't bad. Yes, they overcharge for everything. Yes, they have cameras sticking up your bum the moment you walk in. Yes, the only way it's affordable is to sign up for their "reward" program and let them track you even more. But, they do show all the current films, they do have somewhat of a discount for matinees, and the frozen Coke isn't bad. For $5. read more

Cranking the volume to 11 doesn't make for a great movie experience just because you can get it that loud. Employees are the usual apathetic collection of teenagers. Went to see movie my son tonight. Young girl at concession was very rude and condescending towards both of us. Very ridiculous prices and a snarky girl was extra bonus ! Asked for a $6.00 hot dog, she says, "no hot dogs". Thats it? Not, we are cooking more should be done soon. So I ask , are you making more. She rolls her eyes and Says "hang on " and asked. I'll give these theaters 3 stars for their comfortable stadium seatings, cleanliness and friendly staff. However I'm taking off two stars and most likely won't visit again because they show little respect for my time and take advantage of me being a captive audience. First we had to wait in line for tickets for 15 minutes because they only had one cashier. We therefore missed the 3:00 showing of Coco this past weekend. We then decided to do the 3:20 pm 3D showing (paying more for it, of course). Starting at 3:20 there were 25 minutes of advertisements - I'm paying to watch advertisements?? Some of them were "previews" but to me these are nothing but advertisements. (I would be fine with five minutes of these.) Then there was a 15 minute animated film that was not listed and which I also didn't want to see. The movie I paid to see didn't start until 4:00. All in all, I enjoyed the movie but in the future my time will be better spent waiting for movies to come out on Netflix. read more

Multiple people got up to complain they knew they had a problem they didn't do anything. Watching a movie with your coat on hands in your pocket and still freezing. do not come here expecting a great experience like a regular cinemark branded theater. if you just get a drink and a tub of popcorn, expect a bigger bill than the movies tickets. I believe it's expensive because of the location but it's definitely not worth it. The cinemark at the gateway mall is 10 times much better financially and for the experience as well. After spending almost half a hundred dollars of popcorn and a single drink, the seats at this theater were way too small and super snugged up between rows. I wasn't able to readjust without hitting the person's legs behind me. Unless you want to be still as a statue, have an outdated experience, and have a big wallet, go to the gateway mall. The gateway mall has upgraded seats and snacks at a reasonable price compared to this terrible theater. You could also be able to leave the theater at the gateway mall without even having to make others move out of the way since the walkways are more wider. At this theater, it's inevitable to hit someone by accident if needed to leave the theater for a bathroom break. Save your money and have a better experience at the cinemark theater. read more

We went here on Valentine's Day with another couple and were not able to see the movie we set out to see due to it being sold out. That was ok because I can wait, we ended up seeing another movie we wanted to see anyways but what I was highly disappointed in was the high volume in wait times in the concessions line. I wish they had another one around the corner after you find your theater, and seats. We ended up not waiting in line and didn't get anything. I hate to say it but I have never had this issue at the Springfield Theater. My dream for Eugene is that we will get the nice IMAX theaters with the theater seats that fully recline. Why is it that Tijuana has a better theater than Eugene? The one I went to even had waiters, that took your order where you sat.... One can only hope and dream that the Eug will step it up!!! The most degrading element this theater has to offer is the constant and relentless use of video and surveillance cameras. Upon close observation I found them at the entrance, in the hallways, around every corner, and anywhere else they could stick them ( I lost my count at 30). I find the constant use of security cameras in harmless establishments as debasing and their very use insinuates to me that we are all not to be trusted and we are worthy of criminal consideration. Cameras in prisons and banks I can understand, but a movie theater?! read more

I don't like giving bad reviews but I have to give honest ones and last night my husband and I went to regal cinamas to watch the Jungle book, we waited in a very long line to get tickets (expected, it's opening day) then another line for them to take our tickets in wich a man checking and taking some tickets without any information given to us except when the woman in front of us asked "why so many lines? Can you tell me what we are doing?" At that he responded rudely "because there are a lot of people here lady!" Okay he's a rude guy whatever, then a different girl came and took other tickets including ours and told us to go ahead to our theater so we go and we are told to form a line outside the door....okay....we do, it gets long and we wait...wait...then are we are told very rudely that we need to go join a different line that had been started somewhere else, we all explained that we had been told to be there and they were all very rude the entire time, she screamed (yes screamed) "fine you stay! But for now on its at theater 1!!" Okay....then we wait again...and still waiting and nobody has told us anything finally the crew let us in. That place has serious disorganization and the rudest employees I've seen, not a single person was able to talk to the crowd without a bad attitude and nobody was helpful in giving information ugh just absolutely terrible!! Save your money and go to cinemark, a way better experience. I used to work in the public so I understand the stress of a busy night and impatient crowds but it was the worst show of bad service all around. The Jungle Book was Amazing though! Reserved assigned seating is a disaster waiting to happen. What happened to first come, first serve, get seated and ready to watch flick. Just watched new JP film and witnessed what was about to turn into an altercation due to two guys walking in late and uprooting people to get to their assigned/reserved seats. Few curse words back and forth, major "shushing" by other patrons, all witnessed by film goer's many with kids. This new option at Regal is a mistake and will end in a less than pleasant outcome for someone at some point which is a real shame. 1 star for this policy alone, otherwise all is well except their popcorn on first showing being popcorn from night prior....lazy. read more

We used to watch movies here all the time, but the last 5 or 6 times the sound system is SO LOUD!!!! It actually HURTS our ears. We even tried stuffing napkins in our ears and brought earplugs, but that is ridiculous. I would be interested to know if the volume level causes hearing damage. We have asked for our money back the last few times and now choose to skip the movies at Valley River altogether. This sad because we loved to eat dinner near Valley River then go to the movies :( By the way, the management took the time to explain to us how everybody loves REALLY LOUD movies. Really? The theatre is great! BUT The reason I am writing a review is to give an idea to other parents (of pre tween i would say) who may be looking for a place to hold birthday parties other than home or Chuck E Cheese. I held my son's birthday party here, this past Saturday...We had a great time, it was the easiest birthday party i've ever done (no clean up or set up!- you cant beat that!). Our room attendant, Rick, was a wonderful young man, he was friendly and extremely helpful. Instead of cleaning up, our party moved on to a little tour of "behind the scenes" which was very informative... we then went to our "reserved seats" in the theatre! I would recommend this experience to any parents looking for a great way to have a party and not too much work before or after. Everything is provided, from silverware to balloons - all you have to bring is your kids, cake and presents! Unless you are like me, and are into theme parties (which they accomodated) I am giving it 4 stars because of a female manager i spoke with, this woman was not helpful, not nice and at the end of the call i wasnt sure if she knew what she was talking about. When I decided to drive over another day and speak to the manager (sadly forgot his name) i spoke with initially and, well, he was helpful and did what he can to help us....i wont focus on the crazy woman manager there...because...we had a great experience nonetheless... read more

Completely unremarkable. They made IMAX a gimmicky blah, which I think takes effort. Very disappointed.

I'm amazed that I haven't seen one complaint about the red and green floor lights that go up and down the isles. How? Why? Really? Nobody finds this peripheral assault of blinding light distracting? Who decided that this would be a good idea? Pitch black theater. Christmas lights running up and down the isles. BRILLIANT! The issue is lessened a bit if you have someone sitting to either sides of you. It appears that the reflection from the floor is what intensifies the light. You better hope those people don't move around to often or bam it's a strobbing effect! Which will skull-f**k your brain into oblivion. I at least thought that the introduction of the IMAX theater they would of fixed this issue or at least made it tolerable. ha! Same issue less 14 bux and a migraine after watching Thor. I'm done. I'll deal with the sticky floors at the Cinemark in the Springtucky. read more

Just went with friends to see Dunkirk at the IMAX theater. The sound was so LOUD that it was painful. Clearly they need to adjust the sound level or they are going to drive off patrons that would like to see (and hear) the movie without their hands over their ears. read more

This theater is beautiful, and I like the concept of having the frozen yogurt and all the extra treats they offer at the concession stand, but at the end of the day, the tickets are way too expensive, and the last two times I met friends there, I ended up putting tissue in my ears because I was getting a headache it was so loud. Why do they make it that loud? I can sort of understand for an action movie, but a rom com?!?!? It got kind of ridiculous when I then went to the bathroom with my friend after the show and she was making fun of me for the tissue in my ears... then she washed her hands and started the blow dryer thing and it was so incredibly loud in that all-tile bathroom that she ended up running out of the bathroom with wet hands. I laughed so hard. It is a really clean theater, and definitely more upscale than Cinemark in Springfield, but I'm not sure it's worth it. read more
