Decided that I would try Janes nails since they are closer to my home in Belvidere. What a mistake. She filled my French manicure using white powder. Didn't bother to completely remove the acrylic that was already on there. She was busy taking personal calls on her cell phone. Talking about pies for the holidays. She hardly spoke to me. While she was talking on the phone she was filing the acrylic down and managed to hit my cuticle l said ouch. She acted like I was interrupting her phone call. I left with three tone nails instead of the two. I wanted pink with white tips. I ended up with clear,pink and white tips. Looks like an amateur did them. When I called to complain the response was they couldn't match the pink. I attempted to tell her they wouldn't even try by using polish to cover it. What an absolute waste of $30! To top it off the gentleman closest to the counter had a complaint while I was having my nails done. He said " if you don't like it don't come back" I know I definitely will heed his advice. I'm going to have to try to find a dark color polish to cover it up until I can go to my regular salon and have this mess removed and filled correctly.

The nail polish wall was filled with old bottles and there were cases of supplies just thrown everywhere. Once I was in the pedicure chair soaking my feet, I noticed that black hair was all over my legs (Both the technician and I had blonde hair). Gross. The technician rushed through both the pedicure and gel manicure. She didn't even say one word to my throughout the whole process. To top it all off they charged my card twice for this service. When I came back (with my bank statement) and they refused to admit that they had done anything wrong. In front of all of their customers they managed to turn it on me and make it seem like I was in the wrong. It was the worst experience. I've worked in retail/service jobs in the past and never in my life would I treat a client the way I was treated.

Let's start with the fact that my reservation was for 3:00pm and I wasn't started until 4:30. In the middle of a pandemic, my nail tech didn't have mask on. I didn't think too much of it because there was a total of 4 people in the salon, but still. I put the pictures of the nails I was going for. It took her almost an hour to get the length, shape, and apply acrylic. The shape she gave me was way too long, but I didn't say much because I could work with it. I didn't mind. Mentioning that her and the other nail tech were sharing supplies and tools between clients. When I was told to wash my hands, I entered the bathroom and I was absolutely disgusted. It reeked of marijuana and there was a small bowl that had debris floating; along with a nail brush that was practically decaying away. By the time she started on the polish, it was 5:45pm. The application of the polish was so messy and it only highlighted that the acrylic was uneven and bumpy. She was also applying it so lazily and the shade she chose did not match the one in the picture that I showed her almost every 3 mins. When she started the design, it took her about four times before I had to cut the appointment short. I expressed that the polish application was terrible and that I would pay for at least half, but I couldn't have her continue. When I walked out, I had realized that the polish on my thumbs did not cure under the light and I was able to essentially peel the polish off. I had called back the next day expressing how upset I was with my services and wanted a refund. The "manager" told me that I could not get one because of there "no refund" policy. There was not one sign in that place that said anything about a policy. Very upset. I do not recommend that you come here. I have never spent more than 45 mins to an hour getting my nails done and I was there for almost 3 hours. I will be going to Thucc's Nail Salon which is not far from this place. I highly recommend him!
