We rarely go to the movies anymore because there are so many great films available to stream from home. However, while my brother-in-law was visiting, we decided to take him to see Supergirl at Regal Gateway. It wasn't our first choice, but there weren't many other options playing at the time. To be honest, the movie pleasantly surprised us. It was very well done and went beyond the typical sci-fi storyline. The film explored themes of revenge, friendship, protection, and compassion. One unique aspect was that Supergirl didn't actually put on her iconic costume until the very end of the movie, which was an interesting departure from the usual superhero formula. By the time the credits rolled, our family left the theater happy with the outcome. One thing that really stood out was the ticket-buying experience...it was completely people-free. Instead of purchasing tickets from a cashier, we used kiosks located in the theater lobby. You simply select your movie, pay with a credit card, and receive your ticket. In fact, you can even order concessions through the kiosk. Times are certainly changing! Gone are the days of standing in line at the box office to buy tickets. Today, you can purchase them online or at a kiosk when you arrive. I have to admit, though, that I miss the personal interaction. There's something nice about speaking with a real person and not having to navigate the technology yourself just to buy a movie ticket.

Love the new seats

I rarely go to the movies these days because "the way my bank account is set up..." (in my Kevin Hart voice)! So when I got invited to a screening last Tuesday for a movie I'd been wanting to see, I jumped at the chance. I was surprised and genuinely impressed by the recent renovations at Regal Gateway. The new reclining seats are super comfortable and fully recline. Each seat also has a rotating lap table with a cup holder, which made it easy to snack without balancing everything in my lap. I also appreciated being able to get in and out of my seat without shimmying past a fixed table. The updated layout gives every seat a great view of the screen too. If you're a Regal Crown Club member, Tuesdays have additional perks. Members get 50% off popcorn, and yes, I absolutely took advantage of that and grabbed a large popcorn. Don't forget the free refills. The only thing missing for me is clarified butter for the popcorn. That would absolutely elevate the experience. There's plenty of parking, the restrooms were clean, and they have a really good adult beverage selection. The staff has consistently been helpful about sharing specials, discounts, and upgrades I can use with my Regal Crown Club credits. Overall, this was a really enjoyable experience, and I'm looking forward to returning.

The upgrades are nice! Comfortable seats- better than other theaters by far! I also like they have the cooked snacks (e.g. nachos, nuggets, hotdogs) available in grab-n-go so you don't need to wait to eat.

Stitch and I are ready!!

The Regal Gateway is an antiquated movie theater that severely needs a Kris Jenner facelift. The carpet patterns scream the 90s, there's no self-serve butter, the hotdogs weren't ready when we arrived (6:00 PM), and the electronic screens displaying the menus change too quickly. Overall, a hot mess, there's just no pizazz here. I'm not going to even dive into the pricing of concession items, because.. I don't need to state the obvious. I won four tickets to the prescreening of Lilo and Stitch (shoutout to the best CM, Tomas), and the process to check-in was easy. Just as the email from Yelp stated, "your seats are guaranteed for the event until 6:30 PM.. arrivals after 6:30 PM will be directed to the general admission line where seating is available on a first come, first serve basis". Y'all, they were not kidding!! The general admission line was insane! I spoke to one group and they stated they were waiting from 4:30 PM! If you ever get the opportunity for the next movie pre-screen experience, PRO-TIP: Arrive on the dot for those tickets! Though we weren't immediately allowed in once we checked in, we were able to snag the seats we wanted since we were near the top of the line. Note: For those who came late, copped a band, and hopped in the line as we were moving, SHAME ON YOU!!! Unfortunately, seats are not reclining and the space in between rows give a tight squeeze!

Excited to watch an advanced special screening of the newly remade Lilo & Stitch

I used to frequent this theater often years ago until other theaters upgraded their seating to stadium style seating. Sadly, Regal Gateway did not keep up and stayed with the old style of seating. During this visit, their front lobby area had no AC and most of their theaters were cordoned off with caution tape. I can only hope they're upgrading to stadium seats! It felt nice returning after all these years! Fingers crossed for their much needed modernization!

Woohoo!

After spending about 37 $ for first man...Imax section DOES NOT have recliner section. Very disappointing as it barely leans back.

What is yalls food options? Do yall have glizzys?

Has this been upgraded to the power reclining seats other theaters have all had the past few years? Would love to come back as it's nice and close but would rather drive for more comfortable seating

They are the old school seats. Not recliners at all. I hear they are upgrading 1 theater to the 4D type. The Regal pass can't be beat. For just under $20.00 a month you can watch any movie any day as many times a day. I've seen 3 movie in one day,…

I've been here once before many years ago for a movie and thought for the price, it wasn't really that much different than some of the other reclining seat theaters. The seats are nicely situated and probably better for dates as they had two seaters sections separated from each other. It was very cold inside so I was grateful for the blankets. The lady who took our order and helped us find our seats was really nice and helpful. We just ordered a large popcorn as it was a midday movie. The bathroom door locks were broken in a couple of the women's stalls so I had to go in/out of a couple before finding one that would close. I've also been there a couple of times for a networking event in their lobby area in the past, which was nice. I hope they figure out how to better market it since it's in a great location because I'm not sure how long it will last as a movie theater.

Their systems were down when we arrived, so we had to stand at guest services and buy our own tickets online. We were then told the in-theater server buttons weren't working, but that a server would still come by as they stop serving 20 minutes after the start. Nobody did. After about 25 minutes, I had to leave the theater and find a server myself to order. It took another 20+ minutes to arrive, which was just a bottle of wine. After the movie, we sat through the entire credits waiting for a check. Again, nobody came. We could have easily walked out, but instead I went looking for someone because I wanted to pay for what we ordered. The employee I eventually found was a different employee entirely and didn't appear to have a check for us. She first said I don't know your tan and I had to prompt further "okay so then how should we proceed to which She asked what we ordered, and I honestly told her it was the $65 bottle. Then I watched her calculate the total on her phone and add gratuity before handing me the payment terminal. No itemized bill even though I pointed to the exact bottle we ordered. No clear disclosure that gratuity had already been added. The terminal then prompted me for an additional tip. Final wine charge: $82.06. A $65 bottle plus 8.25% tax is about $70.36, so roughly $11.70, or 18%, was added as gratuity. I tip well almost always 20% even if service is just ok . What I don't appreciate is an automatic gratuity being added without clear disclosure after I had to leave the movie to find service, wait another 20+ minutes for the order, and then hunt down an employee afterward just so I could pay. Between the two tickets and the wine, we spent $122.98. We go on roughly two date nights a week, and I rarely leave reviews. The fact that I'm writing this at 1 AM after getting home says plenty. If you're going to charge premium prices and call the experience "luxury," the service should at least meet the basics. This didn't

The parking is great, I never have to walk more than a minute to the front doors. The theaters are all nice with recliners. Since the screens are digital and the seats recliner, you can sit in rows 2 and 3 for the perfect wide screen experience. I normally sitnin row 3 except if the movie is a foreign one with subtitles, for subtitles movies I'll do row 6. The food is good although expensive and there's not a great selection for those of us that come every day. For the once a week or less frequent patrons, the menu selection is fine. They charge you a service fee for all food and drinks so it can get expensive if you border a drink and an entree. You can order a water or a soda water for no charge. The bottomless popcorn and free refills of waters and cokes are welcomed. Theater 4 has the HDR tech and it's pretty good. Alamo definitely has the best selection of movies and they have older anniversary showings and indie movies also. My favorite food item are the fried pickles
