My tips when visiting saguaro lake:…read more - Arrive early if you're planning to rent a boat or kayak, especially on weekends. The marina can get crowded and boats are in high demand. - Bring plenty of water! Arizona heat can be brutal, even in the fall and spring. Make sure to stay hydrated, especially if you're hiking or spending time on the water. - If you're visiting for the first time, be sure to take a boat tour to get a unique perspective of the area. - Watch out for wildlife . You might spot herons, eagles, and even bighorn sheep along the trails, so keep an eye out! Plan your visit during the off-season (fall or spring) to avoid the summer heat and the crowds.

I visited Lake Saguaro on a Saturday.. Good thing I arrived early at 7:30am. I was able to unload…read more my vehicle and get on the water fairly quickly. By this time all of the front beach spots at the Butcher Jones area were completely taken up by large camping tents. It was tough to squeeze by people to get my stuff on the water. The water was crowded with many different paddle boards, jet skies, boats pulling other water toys. If I return it will likely be on a weekday when school is back In session. Nice lake otherwise. Oh yeah, when I left at around noon, there was no parking down near the beach. That parking lot was packed full. There were cars parked on the side of the road all the way up where you turn into the street driving towards the Butcher Jones area. Appeared to be a LONG walk down too. The FULL signs were posted at the turn off.

Arrowhead Lakes is where I grew up. It's where I call home (and have since age 9), and I couldn't…read morebe happier that my parents still live here. The neighborhood has definitely quieted down since my childhood days--a time when kids roamed the streets and claimed the ends of culdisacs in numbers on their bikes or rollerblades, both after school and on the weekends. Now however, you won't see much of that. Today the neighborhood is predominantly made up of an older crowd. In fact I don't think I've seen anyone younger than the high school age in the area for some time now, and my parents recently mentioned that they couldn't remember the last time they had a trick-or-treater. So if you're looking to start and/or raise a young family, this probably isn't the ideal neighborhood for you. If you're looking for a quieter more grown scene however, then look no further! As far as the West side of the greater metro Phoenix area goes, the Arrowhead Lakes Estates are by far the best place to call home and everyone knows it. The development offers both lake view properties as well as golf course properties with gorgeous views of the nearby mountains and of course, the lake itself. My experience living here has been on the water, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Who wants to pick up golf balls from your netted yard everyday anyway? The only a downfall to a golf course property. Almost every lake front property has a boat dock to fish off of and accompanying boats to boast which makes sunsets and sunrises all the more beautiful. At Christmas time there is even a light parade open to all who have a boat to participate in. Such a great way to kick off the holiday season! The lake winds around the development--essentially connecting all properties, and even has beautiful waterfalls aligning its path at various stops for your viewing pleasure. All in all, this is a gorgeous place to live, or in my case, get to come home to when I need a break from life.

Many lost flies, cuss words and no fish later we decided to seek some help. Google gave us a number of options but we chose Cinda Howard and Flyfish Arizona and Beyond because she guides in the White Mountains of AZ where we love spending time outdoors. Boy did we make the right choice! Cinda is personable, patient, funny and more importantly, one of the top casting instructors in the U.S. We went to a private pond to learn and by the end of the day we were overhead, side and roll casting like we knew what we were doing. We caught six beautiful Rainbows, enjoyed the scenery, the lunch she provided and the company. She offered to take us to a nearby stream in the afternoon but we decided to stay at the pond and hone our skills. Looking forward to our booking our next trip to learn the streams on the Little Colorado or the Black River! If you are new to flyfishing or an old hand looking for a great guide, reach out to Cinda at http://www.flyfisharizona.com and have the time of your life!
