At first, I really didn't like the gates because it did make the school look a little like an institution, but I get the reason why they did it. The teachers are WONDERFUL and all are invested in the students education. No wonder people move to Castro Valley! There are young energetic teachers and also older ones that are just as fabulous! The principle, Mrs. Hoops, is also very involved and opens her door to parents and students alike with sensitivity and sensibility! This is a GREAT school all-in-all!

She exhibits excellent communication skills with students and parents and is devoted to making Washington a great school. Tuition is one of the most reasonable you can find in the whole Bay Area, the value each student get is tremendous! The tuition even includes extended care which in already pays for itself! Especially for busy family with both full time working parents. Public schools usually ends around 2:30, but your tuition includes extended care until 6:00! I think my husband and I are both in awe, every month, on how little we are paying for a "private school" education. In fact the tuition is very similar to our local public schools after school program, and that program was suppose to already run by a registered non profit organization!
