The teachers and staff are kind, and the new principal, Mr. Redemer, has been very approachable and easy to talk to. Anytime we've had a concern, it's been taken seriously and addressed. No school is perfect, but for our family, the Christ-centered focus and values have made the extra cost worth it.

For Redwood Christian Middle/High School (San Lorenzo)…read more It is selfish of the school to cause so much traffic by only having one entrance in a highly residential area where it causes Buses to be significantly delayed. It is selfish of Redwood Christian to cause major traffic along a major Bus Route that is used by other students at nearby schools. In comparison to other schools, this car system is the worst of the worst. Although a response may be that allowing students to be dropped off at the back entrance near Via Vista/Neilsen will cause disturbance to the residents in that area, at least that door is not part of a major Bus route (93, which is used by many students: Arroyo High School, KIPP Schools, Bay Elementary, Bohannon Middle School, and even more schools further down). Because cars won't move at all on the one-lane street unless they get into your school, it causes the Bus to be stuck there for 5-10 minutes for such a short distance. The negative impact of such delay is a late bus of regularly 10+ minutes, up to 20 minute delay. It is not simply "take an earlier bus" if the school can decrease traffic.

Best school ever!…read more The teachers care about their students! Far better then CVHS, Smaller class sizes and great teachers.

Seriously...Redwood has a yelp? I am a2008 graduate and…read morealthough when I was forced into this HS my only goal was to get the grades required to go back to the main HS (CVHS) but after my 1st year I knew this school was different and therefore right for me . At CVHS the teachers (more than one and on numerouse occasions) had said "do your homework or not I get paid all the same" the teachers at Redwood are STILL paying their student loans and are further commited to excellence than any school in this state. My best friend started her first year teaching at this school during my first year attendance and I feel we 'learned the ropes' together. Although most students were 'challenging' having their social/personal lives conflicting with academics, I honestly do NOT think half my graduating class would have even made it to that day if it were not for the debunking of the rumors that coexisted with this school by the teachers I had the oppertunity of knowing. Yeah this all sounds wierd even now being 2013, five years after graduation, but if I could go back to when I was at the 'main high school' I would STILL choose Redwood. Also if Hoffman and Schooley are still teaching...they are bitchin. (positive sense) Also, I havn't been around campus in a few years so if they are no longer a bunch of portables on a parking lot good for them!

First of all, I have met many good people at this school, but a lot of the staff lack leadership…read moreand responsibility. This school looks a lot better from the outside than it really is when you start going there. Many (Not all) of the teachers really can't teach. A lot just show up, grade, and give bs assignments. Math and science department is horrible. Science teachers only give busy work. Math department is probably one of the worst in the state. Sure, test scores are high, but that doesn't reflect actually teaching. Math department uses a rigged standards based grading and if you want to retake a test, you can essentially only do a quarter/rubric of it at a time. The schedule here doesn't is so long and we never had early release. It's not even much to ask for. Most schools have it. I remember having very strict teachers and instructors. Sometimes they would single you out for making a mistake despite you actually showing remorse and being regretful for it (which is not even something you should ever have to do). They give you detention for simply 2 tardies in a week In conclusion, the school is run by idiots.

Sharing his School Year 2024-25 assessment for Kindergarten below after attending/graduating from preschool at Seeds of Tomorrow: Name writing: He has a very strong pencil grip and formation of letters. He can move on to writing his last name too if you'd like! Our end of year "name goal" is writing first and last name in the lines with correct letter formation. Letter names: 52/52 (above standard for this time of year) Letter sounds: 29/30 (26 sounds were the typical sounds from A-Z and the extra 4 sounds were digraphs. He know 3/4 digraphs! So awesome! He just didn't know "ck"). He is above standards for this time of year in sounds. Phonemic Awareness: 18/22. I went further with him on this assessment than I did with anyone else so far. His sense of language is very strong. Phonemic awareness is hearing sounds in words. He was able to identify beginning sounds, ending sounds, he could blend words together (verbally), and also break them apart. He is further along in this area than a lot of his peers. He is above this standard for this time of year for phonemic awareness. Irregular words (sight words): 22/22 (a lot of kids come in knowing 0-3 words, he is above this standard too!) Identifying numbers 0-20: 21/21 (above standard for this time of year) Identifying 2D Shapes: 5/5 (meeting standards) Counting by 1's to 100: 100/100 (above standards for this time of year) His scores reflect that he is VERY prepared for kindergarten. He also has been doing really well in the classroom producing neat work, kind energy, and follows directions well. Well done, K*****!
