I went to school here from i believe 2010-2016, kindergarten to 5th grade. The teachers I guess taught however I barely learned about racism in the country in the past. Also the school was so strict it created a very stupid environment. Some rules were no running on the blacktop (asphalt), NO running in the tanbark/playground, only run on the field or track, DO NOT hold a stick, DO NOT touch any other kids no matter what, DO NOT go anywhere out of bounds, DO NOT run in the rain, if any of those rules were broken I was made to stand by the cafeteria until there were roughly 5 minutes left of lunch on a spot labeled on the ground. 95% of the teachers enforced a super straight single file line and if it was not super straight then they would stop the line and wait for minutes until it was perfect by a couple inches. Kids have to sit and eat their food either in the cafeteria or outside until everyone is dismissed to play (this would take maybe 15 minutes) but ONLY if everyone was quiet for like a full minute. A few times I remember clearly that around 70-80% of the lunch break was wasted waiting to be dismissed. Also this creates an extremely strict and snitch-like environment, there was no back cutting which for example is: let's say my friend is behind me in the line and there are any number of people between us and I want to give up my prime spot in the line so I can go back to be in line with him, 90% of the time a kid would snitch on me like I was making the line take longer when I changed absolutely nothing to make them wait more, I would always be sent to the back of the line. I would also be sent to the back of the line if I touched my friend playfully because the school is dumb like that. For these reasons I lost roughly 40-50 lunch breaks in one school year. I was not a bad kid, I was just being a kid, which is isn't tolerated in that school. Playing tag shouldn't be punishable. Putting myself in a little bit of danger by RUNNING IN THE RAIN shouldnt be punishable. I hated this environment as a child because I felt like it was jail. In fact, like prison the value of things skyrocketed and there were always trades of erasers and silly bands and those bands that you could make yourself out of little rubber bands but some girl told me selling erasers for $0.50 was illegal and she would tell her mom. Last thing on my little rant, this environment of strictness led to 90% of the kids being little snitches, like the girl telling me I couldn't sell erasers or like the kids in the line. I really hope nobody else's childhood has to be lived like this and this school definitely does not deserve 5 stars when elementary school is a place to grow, not to be suffocated in rules. read more
