For both projects, he's been able to start work within a week of the proposal. He stands by the quotes he provides; we ran into some unexpected plumbing issues during one of the jobs and he provided a very reasonable change order. I was in search of a trustworthy contractor who could handle all of my large and small jobs without being that the very top of the price range. After quite a bit of research I had Howard come to my rental property for a quote. The quote was good and I trusted Howard which would have been fine. As I moved throughout the entire process with Howard, here is what I found... 1) Howard is a really nice guy. He was compassionate to me and the tenants that lived through the work. Same with his employees. 2) Howard's team was always on time and communicated when there were changes. 3) Howard was very easy to work with and always kept me in the loop. 4) When I added on small jobs he was eager to take them. 5) In the end, he did great work. My experience with Howard and the rest of the members of Redstone builders was great. The team went above and beyond while they were working on painting my kitchen cabinets and doing a bathroom renovation. They even helped me out with little things that were not in the project proposal while they were working on the bigger projects. Howard and his team were simply incredible when my husband and I did a major gut-rehab of our new condo. We had several contractors come through to do a walkthrough and talk to us about our plans and Howard was the only one of them who came up with possibilities instead of roadblocks. We ripped out our entire kitchen, a small bathroom, a large bathroom, and extensively redid painting and electrical work throughout our house. The entire time Howard and the crew worked fast and carefully to assure everything in our new home met the highest standards. I worked with Redstone to gut and rehab my condo (from resurfacing hardwood floors to staining cabinets, plumbing to painting, new appliances to electrical work and new fixtures). There was a good amount of custom work that the team handled well. Howard and his crew did an excellent job finishing on on-time and on-budget, which to me is key to any large project. It started out right by Howard taking time to introduce his crew to me and ensuring he'd be on the job site to track progress. Howard followed through on his promises and worked with me to ensure I got what I requested (many times exceeding expectations). Since the rehab I have hired Redstone a couple other times. I found Redstone Builders through Angie's List because we was so highly rated, but I chose to work with the company because of Howard (the owner). His response to my initial inquiry was fast. He asked good questions and made sure we were on the same page regarding the scope of the job. We needed our hardwood floors replaced, our unit painted, faucets and dishwasher replaced, some electrical work and a variety of smaller jobs to be completed. Howard communicated with me every step along the way. He finished on time and on budget. The work was PHENOMENAL and I am not one to say that easily. Would I use Redstone again? Absolutely! We enjoyed working with Howard and Redstone Builders. We did a huge renovation of our house in 2020. Three sides of the exterior of the house were completely redone, and inside we gutted the top floor (bedrooms/bathrooms), did a full kitchen remodel, downstairs family room/mudroom remodel which also included moving one of the interior stairways. They also built a new exterior porch off the kitchen and demo'ed/rebuilt the garage with a rooftop deck. We started just before Covid so our timeline was extended which was understandable, given the circumstances. We were able to move back into the house before it was completely done and Howard worked with us to make sure we could live through the remaining work. Budget-wise, we were pretty close. There was a surprise with our mudroom, there was no foundation underneath so we had to address that at extra cost, but that wasn't Redstone's fault. Howard worked closely with our architect to come up with a solution for that area that was manageable for us. I know Howard was working hard to keep everything close to our original cost and I think they did a very good job of that overall. I appreciated that Howard was available to talk via phone and kept me posted on things frequently via text, which was great because we were living out of the area for part of the year, so we couldn't see progress in person for certain periods of time. Overall, I would recommend working with them. He did a great job and we are enjoying our "new" house! read more

I used these guys for my parapet wallets and roof on a three flat back in 2012. I can't believe they are still in business. Worst company ever. They walls were crumbling when they finished, they had to come back out and completely rebuild them. Their roofers pissed in 2 liter plastic bottles and threw them on my neighbors flat roof rather than go down and use the portal toilet or even my toilet. Embarrassing. Howard is a total scam artist, I wouldn't use them build a set of legos. I only post this now because I wasn't on Yelp or any other platforms years ago...and came across them now. I have just completed my third house project with Redstone and I couldn't be happier. My mudroom, kitchen and now master bathroom have been completely remodeled to perfection. Thank you Howard and crew! We had a completely rotted out garage with brand new siding on it. Redstone took the siding down (neatly numbered and stacked to be used again), rebuilt the inside, and put it all back together again. And left the site spotless when done! Unsurprisingly, it appears that Redstone pays yelp to hide the negative reviews. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else to do your remodel. Every shortcut that could be taken was. And when confronted about it, we were told some BS lie about why it couldn't be done right. The finish work is garbage. Every piece of wood was unsanded, the cabinetry and floors damaged, and finish carpentry is scratched. And in the end, they walked away from the project, leaving tens of thousands of dollars in work to be done to repair the crap job that was done. Sadly, people will continue to see a "5 star" yelp review, since this, and all the other negative reviews have been hidden. read more
