My friend and I decided to visit Reds for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed it! The last time I came was for a private event so this was nice to try the new menu. There were SO many options and it was a bit overwhelming, but the server was really kind and patient as it took us a while to decide on our order. We got there right at open (11am) and were seated promptly. The food came out quickly too! I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was a small amount that I could easily finish, while my friend got the hash. I would love to come again and try more of the menu, but kind of bummed it isn't available on Saturday too. Ample parking and great service. Not too expensive for your experience and I do really appreciate it being close by! I kind of forget about it as it is part of a golf course, but I would encourage people to go and try a bunch of items. I will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I visited Reds for Sunday brunch today. We hadn't eaten here in at least 5 years, and the last time we were underwhelmed. I had seen an email that they revamped their menu and added Sunday brunch, so we figured we'd try it out. It absolutely exceeded our expectations! It wasn't busy when we arrived, but a few more tables filtered in before we left. I don't think the word has gotten out about brunch yet. We were seated right away, and our server was with us promptly. We ordered coffees to start, then each had a traditional mimosa with our food. My husband had the steak and eggs, I had the prosciutto benny. Both dishes were great! We were surprised to see the portion sizes for the price. Of all the brunch spots in town, this one feels like a good value. My eggs benny was wonderful! The biscuits were huge, the eggs were perfectly poached, and the prosciutto added a great bit of salt. The asparagus and granny smith apples were an unexpected combo that paired really nicely together. I could have used a little more prosciutto, but that's my only critique. The potatoes on the side were also great! I loved how crispy they were on the outside, but weren't overcooked. My husband really enjoyed his steak and eggs as well! He added some hot sauce to his eggs and said that made it even better. It was a really good experience, and not only will we be telling everyone about it, but we'll definitely be back! I'm also looking forward to trying some other items on the menu, as well as returning to try the dinner menu! read more

Reds is a great go to place, even if you are not a golfer. They frequently change up their menu. I tired the steak and potato special. It was good, but they struggled a bit getting medium rare which I have heard is common. I think I'll just not get steak in the future. My husband loves the Grumpy Club, consistently good. This is silly, but I do wish they would modify the women's bathrooms to not have lids on the toilets. It just always feels a bit gross to have to lift to flush as I am a shoe flusher. read more

Duck was good! Sauce was sweeter than I anticipated. But overall was very good meal! I didn't get a picture of the peanut butter pie- but that was delicious! We and another couple dined at Red's this past weekend. We had reservations and were promptly seated at a nice table. This time of year, forget the nice golf course view as it gets dark so early! The women ordered wedge salads and both loved them. I ordered the walleye. Truthfully I've never had bad walleye in Grand Rapids but this sure came close. Two pieces of heavily breaded fish about as thick as a small baked potato were part of this presentation. Along with the fish were vegetables which could be best described as canned corn and lima beans. Neither were memorable, nor did they complement each other. The menu describes the walleye as "honey crusted topped with lemon honey butter". This description nowhere near matched what was served. My friend had the pork schnitzel. He thought it was OK without further elaboration. Service was as excellent as it usually is at Redwater owned restaurants. Good service in a nice atmosphere has a way of making an OK meal still a good experience. The ladies really enjoyed their salads and we all had a great evening together catching up. read more

Kegan provided very attentive service , the manager checked on us, and the soups, salads, and sandwiches were all fresh, tasty, and well presented. And of course the scrumptious potato chips. Yum. Quite a while back we got the sea bass and prime rib. The sea bass came out and smelled horrible. After taking a bite we realized it was well past spoiled. The negligence it would take to serve that piece of fish to someone is beyond me. The bartender immediately threw it away and apologized. I came here for the first time yesterday for Thanksgiving dinner, which was reserved in the banquet hall area of the restaurant. Therefore, this review is specific to this experience. From what I experienced, the interior of Red's was clean and well-kept; there was an area by the front door entrance to hang up coats which was nice. We met a small group there and soon after we sat down, our waiter came over within 5-10 minutes to take drink orders. The waiter seemed knowledgeable about answering any questions. The Thanksgiving dinner was buffet-style. There were 2 tables for desserts, which included pies, cheesecakes, and possibly a few cakes (I did have what seemed like Boston Creme Pie cake). There was one long table with a salad bar and small appetizers, such as shrimp and cocktail sauce, warm crispy pita bread (SO good!) and dip, cheese and crackers, and raw vegetables and dip. The main long table had classic Thanksgiving spread with mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green beans, macaroni and cheese, sliced turkey, and gravy. A second main table had a carving station for ham and prime rib. It was a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving in a relaxing setting! read more

This review is strictly for the catering of a wedding dinner. We went with our son to try the food before the big day and honestly wasn't that impressed with the options. There were a few better than others. Our son and daughter in-law to be decided on what they wanted for their dinner. The big day was here and the place looked great when we arrived. Tables were arranged and looked great. Staff was excellent and nice. The food was a hundred times better than the tasting was. All in all, we were very pleased with the whole experience. Got to experience their customer service and their catering buffet while in the upstairs event space. My family had a funeral and gathered here for food and community afterwards. The food and service was amazing. The view from the space was incredible and everyone was talking about it. Bathrooms were the cleanest and it was also a locker room so there were showers as well as lockers. It was honestly one of the nicest spaces I've ever had an event held in. My husband is a picky eater, no vegetables for the most part, even said the food was great and loved the macaroni & cheese. I would highly recommend this place just based on this one experience because we couldn't have asked for a better place than this. The staff was helpful but also relaxed. My husband had like two bites on his plate but in an effort not to rush us, didn't even pick it up until he was heard discussing dessert. Definitely best place I've been in a long time. read more

I'm always slightly conflicted when reviewing Red's. There is so much to like, but certain things are slightly off. I'll make a pros & cons list. Pros: Phenomenal well priced wine list Large bar Lots of seating in a cozy setting Clean restrooms Extensive menu Kid friendly options Cons: Often understaffed Food can be under seasoned or just slightly "off" Inconvenient parking/lighting Can be occasionally slammed with golfers Overall I think the concept of red's is great. It just somewhat missed the mark on flavor and execution for me. I tried the eggplant rigatoni most recently. It was pretty, well described and vibrant. I really don't know how to say the flavor was just "off key". read more

1st time visiting and will be back as soon as possible! It was a pretty busy Thursday however we were able to sit quickly and served immediately. Grace was our waitress and offered great recommendations! We had a couple mocktails that were just ok, a bit too powerful with the sour flavors however everything else was spectacular! The lamb empanadas were so flavorful and meaty! We wish it was more than just 3 but it was an appetizer. We ordered the shrimp & scallop pasta along with a NY strip with masked potatoes and mac & cheese. The steak was buttery and delicious! Mac & cheese was worth the hype as were the potatoes and the flavor of the pasta was divine. We will return for sure! I remember the "old" Reds on the River and this didn't resemble it at all. The dining room was very loud, even though it was just partially filled. It became so loud we could hardly hear each other. Food was just ok and "hot" food was just lukewarm. Service wasn't extraordinary either - had to keep flagging down our server when we needed something. Not impressed overall and don't feel it was worth the $$. read more

She was super in communication and very kind. We tried the Korean BBQ stir fry which was wonderful. The ambiance was very classy as well. Got the manager involved and it was finally prepared as requested. But by the time it came out everyone else was finished eating. Was surprised to be charged the full price for a repeatedly messed up order. But the bills were another issue. We had three couples at our table. Each had their own bill. The bills were wrong. Asked her to correct them. After four attempts and waiting over a hour we got the manager involved again. Only got a I'm sorry from the manager. No attempts to "make it right". My sons and I recently dined at Red's for my birthday. Rachael was our waitress and she was attentive, friendly and right on top of things. We were served three delicious meals and even took some home as the portions were generous. The atmosphere is lovely and warm and a perfect place for a special occasion. I loved the birthday cupcake that was presented to me on a beautiful decorated plate with a birthday greeting. Loved everything and will return soon. read more

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and offers quiet dining or a fun sports bar. I ordered the new Korean Style BBQ Beef Stir-Fry and my husband had the Tuscan Shrimp & Scallops. Both were excellent, so flavorful and delicious. Our server, Aaron, gave great recommendations and made sure that our experience was very special. We have been going to reds for years. It used to be our favorite place to dine. You were always guaranteed a good dinner. However, the past year this has gone severely downhill! Each time we die and we spend around $200 for our family. But this last time is going to be the last time. There's definitely better restaurants out there that I would rather put my money at. Each one of us was disappointed with our plates. This continues to be the same experience. Overly greasy fried foods. Lack of flavor. Over cooked meats, you name it. You would probably receive better quality food at a Texas roadhouse. read more

We've been going to Reds for many years. Liked the old place in Rockford but we really love the new place at Thousand Country Club. Better location for us coming from the southeast end of town. In a recent visit we sat in the bar joined by long time friends. Nice atmosphere! We enjoy sitting in there instead of the dining area. Service was superior to our previous visits. Our server was very engaging and we could tell she loved working here. Apps, main course and desserts were all very good as always. French dip sandwich is particularly good! Ahi Tuna appetizer is one of our favorites too. Menu is similar to other Redwater owned establishments but with a nice twist. We will continue to dine at Reds. Thank you read more

The views at this restaurant are amazing. It's located on an elegant golf course, and as such, you can come casual (shorts), but is also a fine dining establishment where you could dress up in elegance. It's a bit of a drive outside of town, but was a beautifully manicured countryside to cruise through. I ordered the kettle chip crusted walleye topped with a lemon aioli, which sounded amazing. However I found it to just be ok. It didn't taste bad, but wasn't as bold of a dish as it sounded. Later that night my digestive system complained about what I ate. I don't know if it was the aioli or something else. Another guest at the same dinner also experienced some digestive complications. You can't beat the views and atmosphere, however I'd recommend they improve the food quality to meet the price point. read more

This restaurant is attached to the Thousand Oaks golf course. When you walk in it's very bright and well lit! I've been here for dinner and happy hour and really enjoy their menu. There are lunch specials, daily specials and happy hour specials! Additionally, they have a gluten feee and vegan menu. My favorites include french onion soup, wedge salad with buttermilk blue cheese, their grumpy club no bun. The appetizers of chicken lettuce wraps, seared ahi tuna, fried brussels, and quest blanco (I do veggies instead of bread), are all excellent and $3 off during happy hour! The dinner menu changes frequently according to the seasonally. Their steaks are really prepared well and the chicken is always cooked perfectly. We were pretty disappointed on our latest visit to Reds. We are members at Watermark so the ladies and I golfed 9 holes followed by dinner and drinks on the patio. The service was less than stellar. We waited over an hour for our food and I would have had another cocktail had the server visited our table more often. The weather was chilly and we asked multiple times for them to move the unused heater to our table but again were left waiting and re-asking. When the food arrived it was cold and overdone (steak). In their defense, the restaurant both inside and outside was very busy. read more
