He was at our spot with a tow truck in about 30 mins and called us an hour or so later to inform me of what was wrong. He laid out the options. Was very transparent and gave us a rough timeline. While he had the car he sent updates on when he ordered parts, when they arrived at the shop and how far along he was with the work. This was critical for me as I had to drive back to Chicago in a rental and needed to coordinate when I'd make the drive back to Cincy to pick up my car. The car is like new. I felt a little nervous driving it back right after getting the work done but it performed great on the road and I made it back to Chicago with no issues. I wish he was based in Chicago so I could take the car to him with any future issues. Hopefully we never get stranded in Cincy again, but if we do I find some peace in knowing we have someone great to take it to.

I discovered a nail in one of my tires and needed it checked out quickly. I reached out to Dave's…read morebecause of the great reviews--and because it's super close by--and I'm so glad I did. The owner was incredibly responsive, even on a Sunday. I needed an appointment ASAP, and he worked me into his already busy Monday, keeping me updated while he was out on a towing job.He patched my tire in under 10 minutes and charged me well below typical prices. I've officially found my go‑to "car guy." Excellent communication, honest work, reliable service, and very affordable pricing. Highly recommend!

Towed the car to the middle of nowhere private residence in Ryland, KY. Very shady company and bad people. DO NOT trust these crooks with your property.

My friend was staying at my apartment in Cincinnati about a few weeks ago and had their car towed. I asked my apartment if they called him to come tow the car, and they said that they hadn't. We tried to call the tow company all night long with no reply and no report to the police (which is illegal in Kentucky - you are required to report a towed vehicle within two hours). The police told us that we should file a stolen vehicle report because we had no idea that their car had been towed due to no communication from Book A Hook - can you imagine spending all night in fear that your vehicle was stolen because the company never reported that they had towed your vehicle? We had been out until 11 (so the vehicle had been taken before that) and finally got a phone call from police at 4am saying that they had confirmed their vehicle being towed... 5 hours. The police were very helpful and NOT happy having to do this guy's job for him. We even tried to drive to the listed address and physically see the vehicle, which was actually just a residential property (and not the actual lot). If you are too busy or don't have time to communicate with your customers after you tow their vehicle, don't tow it to begin with. We didn't hear back about the car until early the next day and were told it would still be several hours before we could pick up the vehicle (which is illegal and you are entitled to be able to see your vehicle upon request during business hours, which were listed as 24/7). He said that the towing hours are 24/7 but you can only pick up your car Monday through Friday, meaning that you have to wait multiple days if you are towed on a Friday. We thought "okay, finally we can get our car" and started driving to the "lot", but the sketchiness and unacceptable customer service continues. We put in the directions to the "lot", only to discover that it is actually a shitty home driveway in a rural area of Kentucky, 20 minutes away from downtown Cincinnati (can you imagine if you didn't have anyone to drive you to pick up your car?). This "lot" is in no way secure or appropriate to be listed as the lot of a tow company and could easily be a site for vehicle theft. We were also only allowed to pay with cash (which is also illegal). This is the shadiest business. If you hire them for your private towing services, you are setting yourself up for constant complaints from tenants/civilians, terrible communication, and associating yourself with a company that does not care about their customers.

I purchased an auto policy through your insurance rep Brandon Back (via AAA/Safeco) 2 years ago…read more Recently I was contacted by the company informing me my rates were going up. I first contacted Brandon via email to inquire on what I could do to get my rate back down. After a few days, I called and left a voice message. several days later he got back to me (over a week total) and said we needed to wait to get closer to the auto renew date on my policy before we could do anything. Once that happened I reached out again via email. No response. I called and left a voicemail a week later - no response. I called several days later again and still no response. I then called the safeco 800 number and got to someone who was able to answer a few simple questions for me - took all of 5 minutes. Long story short I shopped for another insurance vendor and saved myself almost $200 on the same exact policy through Mr Brandon/AAA/safeco. To be honest, had Brandon gotten back to me with any response at all, I probably would have renewed even at the higher rate just out of convenience - however because Brandon chose not to respond to my simple inquiry, I decided to spend my $$ with another company. Bad customer service has its consequences. Hopefully this feedback will not go unnoticed.
