Then, you go up to the librarians to have your application processed. The librarian was very detail oriented and friendly, I loved talking to her. The library is medium sized, not too big for a library, but still felt wide and spacious. There is AC and I like that there is a bus stop right outside so that I can comfortably wait for the bus that takes me home.

And it was a solid library with books to explore and purchase. The Redmond library is located across from city hall and is walking distance to the Redmond Transit Center. When I visited on a Friday afternoon the library was quiet and did not have as many people here as the Bellevue location normally has, which was nice. When you enter the library, there are shelves near the entrance for books to purchase from the Friends of the Library sale, which is worth a gander for some really cheap deals. I was easily able to return books and browse through the selection, as the different sections were easy to find and there was ample seating. Not far from where I work out, I'll make Redmond library an option for when I need to return or pick up books.

The librarians here are very nice, friendly and helpful, Though not the biggest library in the city I would still say it is one of the best. There are plenty of Books, videos and computer terminals to use. Also, the park outside is very relaxing to just hang out, sit under a tree or just read a book from the library, listen to an iPod, or just sketch...or just take the little ones to the jungle gym area.

There are also plenty of seating for people like me who just want to utilize the quiet space for studying. Big windows that should allow the sunshine come in when it's sunny. The staff is always helpful and friendly when I have questions or need help. It's also always warm inside the library which is nice for those looking for a warm place to sit and read or charge a phone. I love the upstairs area where there are more computers and printers and plenty of comfy seating! I always find myself returning to this library or going out of my way to stop by here so I definitely do recommend!

The library itself is down the rather cavernous hallway - the library itself feels pretty gigantic; enjoyed browsing the suggested new titles on offer. The used book store appendage outside the main doors was open this time around during my visit. I wish they took more than just cash or check. Could not partake : ( I saw tons of appealing books and also they had puzzles and puzzle books. A great place to spend a couple of hours in Bellevue.

I had a book to return and found the electronic returns slot easy to use with instructions clearly communicated on the screen above the returns slot/conveyer belt. Which door(s) to use on entrance/exit were also clearly marked. Different sections in the library were labeled with signage. In addition to sections for books, DVDs, audio books, and magazines, there were computer work stations, study room(s)/space(s), and tables with chairs open for use. I looked over some of the books in the non-fiction and biographies sections, opting for a biography on John Muir. On my way towards check out, I found some information about the United States of America naturalization process. I thought that was cool. It also got me thinking about how one would go about learning both about the naturalization process and the history to be tested on for a naturalization test if moving internationally. While I did not get something this time, perhaps a book on the naturalization process logistics would be interesting, generally speaking. Still helpful to have informational flyers/pamphlets with some introductory/resource information available/accessible. Self check out and check out with a librarian stations were located closer to the entrance/exit in the standard KCLS computer set up. The desk/counter the self check out computers were located on was in the theme of a large slab of wood for the counter. Overall enjoyed the feel/ambiance of the library as well as the offerings.

What he doesn't say is how he tricks the community into funding totally unnecessary projects just so he can burnish his resume. I am still furious about that totally unnecessary Kingsgate library renovation back in 2014. He tricked the community into funding it by saying our library hours would be greatly reduced and our reading material drastically cut back if we didn't come up with the funding. So we approved it. And guess what? Our library immediately then gets closed down for a year and a half we lose 90% of our books. Straight out of the third world playbook. And he gets 5% kickback from the inflated contract. Now he is at the Chicago tattoo museum, right where he belongs. He will fit in well there. All we got in the renovation was to move our toilets 50 ft further inside the building.

This is MY library. I live 3 miles from it. I used to visit this library a lot in person before…read morereading ebooks was possible. Now I try to do all my reading that way and visit less frequently. This was a poorly designed and thought out library, way too small for the community it supports, one with the highest income by zip code per person for any similar sized city in the US. The parking lot is too small, the spaces too tight and the parking garage is horrible. It is dark with huge concrete pillars everywhere and with tiny parking spaces. The concrete posts are scratched and chipped from drivers hitting them with their cars. I had to rescue a driver whose new Volvo was wedged tightly against one of the pillars and she couldn't figure out how to extract herself. The side of the car was completely smashed. The parking lot is frequently full, forcing us to park in an adjacent church parking lot and hike to the library. The entitled patrons who can't be bothered to park in the church parking lot park in the 5 minute short term book drop parking stalls forcing those of us who came solely to return books to hike back and forth from the church simply to drop off our books. I like that they have a copy machine with which your library card offers a few free black and white copies a week. A color copier too that offers fewer. As a note, the Snohomish Library system is WAY more generous with their free copying privileges. They also have a much larger selection of books, and more of them per title. The gas fireplace is nice. I've sat there a few times while reading magazines. The Redmond and Issaquah libraries are far superior to the Sammamish library. They are located too far away for me to use often, but I'm always sad when I visit them and am reminded that MY library is so diminished in comparison.

At 6:01 pm, as people were still exiting, i asked to use the library restroom. They said "no, the library is closed". I could see there were still people inside. But no, one minute past and i'm out of luck. I can't comment about the library in general, but the two workers who said no to restroom access one minute after closing have no discretion/flexiblity/humanity/compassion.
