I absolutely regret trusting Plate Auto Sales. Here's what happened to me: 1. After negotiating and agreeing on a price for the purchase, I shook hands with the sales rep who sent me back to the finance office to complete the transaction. At that point they charged me upwards of $1,000 of 'hidden fees' that they did not disclose during the entire sale process. They said the fee was to cover "overhead." In every other business, the cost of overhead is built into the price of the product. It's dishonest and sleazy to just throw it in at the end as a hidden fee. An honest person just tells you what the actual cost of their product is and lets you decide. 2. Immediately after getting the car home and washing it, I discovered that the layer of dirt that was covering the car when I purchased it was hiding the fact that the entire car was hail damaged. The damage is extensive enough to total the car. And there was absolutely no mention of that damage during the sale. It was evening time, the sun had set, and the dirt covered it so neither I, nor the mechanic I took it to, caught the hail damage. Another blatant case of dishonest from a company that claims to "carefully inspect" each of the vehicles they sell.

So this is an auto dealership with a service center & a car wash. When I purchased my auto there a…read moreyear ago I purchased their maintenance package, I was also told that the auto purchase came with free unlimited basic washes at their car wash. Within three months I was told that was no longer the case, I would get one free car wash a month & they wanted me to purchase a car wash package--it was at this time that they were also opening the car wash up to the public. They tried to tell me I had just misunderstood but my parents who had purchased their auto in 2021 were also told they would now be limited to 1 free car wash per month after 4 years of free unlimited basic car washes. Well, about three months ago I did purchase their Premier package on a supper cheep deal that they said was only being offered to those who had purchased cars at the dealership. Figured this was how they were trying to keep disgruntled customers happy. It was supposed to come with the wheel shine cleaning & undercarriage & until that point the car wash had been doing a fabulous job of cleaning the auto. That has been rapidly diminishing ever since & I am now canceling that package. My car is just not getting clean when I go through the wash. I don't know if the little computer board they push has a dealership setting & a membership package setting or if the car wash is just getting so much use that the matinance is just not able to keep up or what? I do know I just washed my car & then spen 25 min & used about eight of the provided microfiber cloths as well as a bottle of water that I brought with me in order to finish cleaning my car after it had been through the car wash. And it was more than just the wheels. There was dirt in the window seems, dirt in the panel seems, as it dried there were water spots, & then there were the wheels. The light for the wheel cleaner came on but I am not sure it worked & I haven't heard the undercarriage spray in at least a month. If I bring it up they will likely just say I misunderstood that as well & only the Elite wash has it. We're going into the winter months. There will be salt on the road. I am going to need a car wash that actually cleans my vehicle. And there's also the fact that I feel more than a little gypped from being told I was going to get unlimited free car washes when I purchased my vehicle to that being reneged upon. I also have heard that the owner operator spends a bit less time on location or on the floor when he is & a lot more time doing other administrative duties. Well when the cat's away...

Buyer Beware! I cannot emphasize enough to avoid this…read moredealership if at all possible. I am not inexperienced at purchasing vehicles or dealing with sales transactions, however this was the most unprofessional and dishonest transaction I have ever been exposed to. The sales associate was fine and did his job. It wasn't hard, I have 800+ credit, and did all the leg work myself from home and was approved for financing over the phone before ever setting foot on the lot to purchase the vehicle. I had been in a major auto accident 2 days before and made it clear that I was not able to haggle it out in person, I needed to get all the details worked out in advance and simply come in to sign papers and test drive the car. It couldn't have been easier for them. However, once I was passed over to the Finance Director the entire process was a nightmare. A "Gold Standard" extended warranty was shoved down my throat for a mere $2995 and I was told in order to qualify for a lower interest rate I was required to sign up for the warranty. The warranty itself was grossly misrepresented by the Finance Director in terms of coverage and how the program worked I found out a month later when trying to use it for a sensor that went out. I also found out that the interest rate I was promised (5.99%) for adding the $3k to the loan amount was never in fact processed by the Finance Director as stated, he signed me up for the 7.65% rate I adamantly told him I did not accept. At no point was I given copies of the paperwork I was told to sign on a tiny 4x6 screen with 8 point font which you couldn't even read. It wasn't emailed to me until after I had left the dealership. This director was so incompetent he didn't even remember to get the down payment from me despite me sitting there with my checkbook open on his desk trying to write it out for 20 minutes while he haggled over this ridiculous warranty and the APR he never ended up financing me for (5.99%). Fast forward to trying to cancel the extended warranty and big shock when I followed up, the dealership never bothered to send it to the warranty company so I'm still out $3k for nothing and had to immediately go to my credit union to refinance the car with the broken sensor for what he said he was signing me up for to begin with. Talk about one big scam. Attempts to repeatedly rectify these issues with the owner and manager have gone unanswered.

We weren't sure what to do - because we had more to take then our van could fit. Brady and Kellen heard about our story and reached out to us to see what they could do. To make a long story short, they found a way for us to use one of their vans for a cross country trip - just so we could get our daughter the medical care she needed in New Orleans. This really isn't the thing you do if money is your main aspiration and pursuit. Their kindness and trust made a HUGE difference for us as a family - not only in being able to make the trip comfortably, but learning some things to help our daughter Olivia, who has a serious seizure disorder. It's hard enough to know who to trust these days, but maybe especially when you're looking for a car. From experience, I can tell you that you can trust Brady and Kellen. I know they care about people - and will treat you fairly. This is the kind of business we should support, celebrate and invest in for our communities. I'm a journalist professionally, so you can't blame me for wanting to write about this experience. Issues I have had with other dealerships in the past are, hidden fees, different price for cash, pushy sales people, the selling of unwanted nonsense. You get non of this with Shamrock, they made this the most straightforward and honest people I have ever dealt with. Kellen was amazing from start to finish. Also he represents Allstate and managed to sell me an very reasonably priced warranty for the truck, that includes giving me the right to put larger tires on it and lift it up to 6 inches and still have the vehicle covered. Afterwards I purchased a range Rover in Milwaukee for my wife and they sold me a warenty for less than half the price of the local dealership there. So basically if you want to buy a vehicle or a warenty for your vehicle these are the folks to go to. Basically I have purchased 2 warranties and a truck from them and I am very happy.

We knew we wanted something reliable and we knew we wanted something that would last... we also knew that we hated the used car salesman shopping experience. Drive auto was really chill, really flexible and friendly as well. No pushy salesman tactics or techniques - just a very transparent shopping experience. Very little if any wiggle room on pricing which is probably the only downside, but overall it was a pain free buying experience. Would definitely recommend them as they have great reviews, are friendly, and don't try and force you into anything. They even have something called 'overnight test drive' which means you can take the car for 24 hours to see if you like the vehicle! That's probably one of the nicer aspects!
