Let me tell you a story about a young woman who went to buy a vehicle from this dealership. She…read morefound a Tacoma she loved after test driving several ones. So, she bought the one from. After a couple of months, she went to get an oil change. Her honest mechanic (yeah, there are still some out there) surprised her with some disturbing news. He told her her car appears to be totaled. At least given the condition it should be, he said. The under carriage was completely rusted out and the gasoline tank was hanging by a thread. He said it could fall off anytime and cause a potential disaster. So, she called the dealer (since she hadn't even received a title or plates yet) and at first he didn't want to mess with it. After threatening to get a lawyer involved, he said she could come back and trade it back in for a car on his lot and use the value she paid toward the purchase. She found another Tacoma. This time she drove it to her faithful mechanic. Again -- completely rusted. He told her he suspected this dealer gets his cars from states that experienced hurricanes. So, she then brought over her RAV4 and he gave it a thumbs up. After three tries she found a vehicle -- more expensive than she expected and not the vehicle of her choice, but she was offered limited options. Let me add her license plates came four. months later and the title came nearly six months later. The business practices at this dealership seem to me to be a little suspect. We are grateful the dealer did let her come and find one of the few vehicles worth to buy on his lot. However, my word of advice is to get any vehicle you intend to buy from this dealer inspected by a mechanic. And if you need an honest mechanic, I suggest Carter's in Pleasant Grove.

When I looked up the warnings, it recommended not driving the vehicle, so I had it towed to the dealership for diagnosis. This vehicle has been regularly serviced at another Toyota dealership, and part of the reason we chose to purchase a Toyota was for their reputation for engine performance and longevity. I was shocked by what I was told next. After diagnostics, I was informed my engine had major issues and needed significant repair. I was told cylinder #1 was misfiring and, after several tests including a leak-down test and compression test, that the bank 1 head and valves needed to be replaced. I was quoted just under $10,000 for repairs, on top of nearly $700 in diagnostic fees. I was extremely stressed and shocked that a well-maintained, relatively new vehicle would require what sounded like catastrophic engine work. After speaking with another Toyota dealership and a few independent mechanics, several expressed confusion that my vehicle would need such a major repair. Some even mentioned that for that price, a new engine could be installed. These were definite red flags, so I trusted my gut and sought a second opinion. Because we were under the impression the engine was in catastrophic condition and the vehicle shouldn't be driven, we had it towed a second time to another shop, which we later learned wasn't necessary. This added additional cost and stress. I'm incredibly glad I did. The second shop ran the same tests and found nothing wrong with cylinder #1. They were baffled that I had been told I needed such extensive work. Their diagnosis ultimately saved me $10,000. We did call the service manager to express our concerns. He was apologetic and explained that the results were slightly under Toyota's expectations, but not catastrophic. He asked how he could make it right and adjusted the diagnostic fees, which I appreciated. While I would rate my experience with him higher, I'm leaving one star specifically due to the diagnosis itself, which caused significant stress, unnecessary towing, and could have resulted in a very costly repair. I understand mistakes can happen, but this was one that could have been extremely expensive. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion when facing major repairs.

My car had a tire pressure light on that they said they would fix and when I had it in to fix the just reset the light. The light was on for a reason. There were multiple pieces of metal in the tire (which they said they took off and checked) I had to purchase a tire from Big O. I also had the oil change pckage and the 18 year old that did my last oil change over torqued my drain plug and bent the opening pretty bad so he put a really big after market plug in with a gasket. BMW said that the entire oil pan had to be replaced, Fortunately I went in and threw a big enough fit that they gave me a written promis that they would replace it if it ever leaked. Then I found that the rear passenger door was broken with the child lock on and the Transfer case was out. Everytime I took it back they said it was fine. The warranty that they sold me for 3k was locked to their service dept! I finally got someone to listen to me and they checked out the transfer case and said it did fail. It had metal shavings in the fluid. They used to check off that they rotated my tires and they didnt until I told them too. Then when I drove home my car started making a weird noise about a block from home. My husband checked and the lugnuts on my driver side front tire were so loose that it could have fallen off. I can see why they have been closed down. update: my oil pan is leaking now and the dealer is closed, the gentleman who promised a replacement is saying the they will honor it since it was all part of the Larry H Miller chain and he is still a district manager there. I am glad I had the manager brought into this when I was in there fuming . Still waiting to hear back where I take it for repair, another update coming.

That said, aside from the length of time, we had a pretty great experience with the team at Utah Used Cars. Matt was our salesman and did a great job answering questions and thoroughly explaining the process and options. Helen walked us through each piece of paperwork clearly and efficiently. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2020 Mercedes Benz AMG GT-R, paying over $125,000. Mileage on these cars is everything. The car was advertised on Carfax and on the dealership's website as having 28,850 miles. My contract with the dealership listed the mileage at 28,850 miles, and that contract was signed by Danny Adams, the Sales Manager. However, when the car arrived (I had it shipped from Draper UT to Los Angeles), the car had 29,529 miles on it--a difference of 679 miles. While I could understand a small discrepancy due to potential purchasers test driving the car, a difference of 679 miles is completely unacceptable, especially given the type of car involved. If that weren't bad enough, when the car arrived the front diffuser was smashed. (The estimate to replace the diffuser came in at $7,844). The dealership claimed that the shipping company (which the dealership chose) was to blame, while the shipping company claims the damage was preexisting. The shipping company immediately showed me pictures of the damage as soon as they dropped off the car. The shipping company's pictures appear to be taken at the dealership when they picked up the car. The dealership made no disclosure on Carfax, in our email communications and in our telephone conversations about the damage. A "certified pre-owned car" is supposed to be as close to new as possible. Obviously, this car was not. While the dealership initially indicated that they would be taking care of these two issues, they have not. Moreover, the dealership has now ghosted me for the last 3 weeks, despite my emails to them. Unfortunately, I've reached the stage where I'll have to get my attorney involved. I'm a reasonable person and would have liked to have resolved the two issues amicably, but it takes two to tango as they say. When dealing with MB of Draper, I advise you to take what they say about a vehicle with a healthy grain of salt. While it shouldn't be that way for a Mercedes Benz dealership selling a certified pre-owned MB vehicle, my experience with MB of Draper suggests otherwise.

The interest rate on our used vehicle--especially one that was already a few years old--felt overwhelming, and we had been receiving multiple refinance offers that would have cut our payment nearly in half. That seemed like the practical path forward. Still, we decided to explore what Volkswagen SouthTowne might offer. We loved our Atlas, so we felt comfortable walking away if the experience didn't feel right. At worst, we would simply continue with our original plan and refinance through our credit union. From the moment we arrived, everything changed. We were immediately greeted by Mariah, whose energy was warm, genuine, and inviting. I'll admit, we came in a bit guarded and cautious, unsure of what to expect. Yet Mariah met us with patience and understanding, taking the time to truly listen--what we loved about our current vehicle, what we relied on day-to-day, and what features would enhance our lifestyle, from everyday errands to family camping trips. What stood out most was her approach. She was never pushy, never intimidating--just thoughtful and attentive. As a woman, I especially appreciated how she included me fully in the conversation. In past experiences, I've often felt overlooked or uncomfortable at dealerships, but with Mariah, I felt respected, heard, and completely at ease. We were curious about a newer Atlas, and in my mind, it was all or nothing--I wasn't interested unless it truly made sense. When we test drove the 2025 Atlas, we immediately fell in love. Still, we weren't sure if it would even be possible without additional money down. Mariah made it happen. The process itself was surprisingly smooth and efficient. In the past, we've spent hours waiting at dealerships, but this experience felt seamless. While everything was being finalized, she had us relax in a lounge area and even arranged for the vehicle to be detailed again--despite it already being spotless. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the atmosphere of the entire dealership. Every employee we encountered--sales staff, finance team, technicians--took a moment to check in, congratulate us, and share in our excitement. It created such a welcoming and positive environment, something we had never experienced before. Even after the deal was complete, Mariah continued to go above and beyond. She stayed to help us transfer all of our belongings from our old Atlas into the new one, double- and triple-checking that everything was perfect and that we felt completely confident before leaving. Her level of care didn't end with the sale--it felt genuine from start to finish. And then, when we thought the night couldn't be any more memorable, it was. After leaving the dealership, we realized my husband had misplaced his phone--possibly in our old vehicle or even on top of it. We rushed back, hoping for the best. Although Mariah had already gone home, one of the remaining team members--who appeared to be from the service or detailing department--stepped in without hesitation to help us. Despite it being the end of a long day, he went out of his way to assist, even riding with us across the lot to check our old vehicle. To our amazement, the phone was sitting right on top of the car, completely unharmed. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help--without making us feel like an inconvenience--left a lasting impression. He even took the time to ask about our new car and congratulate us before we left. That moment truly reflected the culture at Volkswagen SouthTowne. Our experience here completely changed our perception of car dealerships. What once felt stressful and intimidating now feels welcoming and even enjoyable. While we had read great reviews before visiting, seeing it firsthand made all the difference. Without hesitation, we will return in the future--and we will absolutely seek out Mariah again. She brings a rare combination of professionalism and genuine warmth that makes the entire process feel effortless. Thank you, Mariah, and thank you to the entire team at Volkswagen SouthTowne. Whatever you're doing, it's working. You've created an environment that truly stands out. If you're considering a new vehicle, I highly recommend visiting Volkswagen SouthTowne--and be sure to ask for Mariah.
