Enjoyed my experience selling my car here. They made it quick and easy. One of the first times I didn't feel like I had to fight for my cars worth. Will definitely be back and referring people to them

So let me start by sharing with you how disappointed I am with Velocity Auto Sales. For now lets just say I bought a truck that I thought was a one owner, low millage, accident free vehicle and turns out to be something else even though that is what The Car Fax said that it was. After bringing the dealership up to speed on my findings all I wanted was a small $3500.00 refund on a $45,000.00 purchase and they refused my request. I wasn't mad, I wasn't screaming, I didn't even raise my voice. In fact I will tell you right now that the transaction was great and the service I received from the sales person was awesome. If I didn't find all the damage and the vehicles history I would have written this place a FIVE star review on both Yelp and Google. At the end of the day I take full responsibility that I'm a grown adult and that I did not buy this vehicle under duress. The only problem I have with Velocity Auto Sales is that they sold me a vehicle that they advertised as a low milage, one owner, accident free vehicle because again, that is what The Car Fax said it was and technically it is not the truth. Yes, it had one registered owner but the truth is that the vehicle was repossessed and then the truck bounced around California, Arizona and Utah changing hands with I think 6 or 7 different auction houses and used car dealerships before arriving at Velocity Auto Sales. So what is wrong with the truck? After I found over a dozen missing clips and plastic pieces in the bed and fender well area I finally visited a body shop. The first body shop showed me how the vehicle has been repainted. That led me to visiting a total 3 body shops and guess what, it turns out that this truck has possibly been in an accident. What type of accident I don't know but they found fresh paint on the rear door rubber seal and also on the front passenger head light. Plus we found tape between the bed and the cab where the vehicle was painted and that area was not ever sanded and or polished. The driver side was nice and smooth and the passenger side was taped off, rough and absolutely not smooth like the other side. One body shop employee said that the truck was recently painted, who knows what his level of knowledge is but it makes you start thinking. The really nice sales person that works for Velocity Auto Sales told me that one of the managers actually personally drove the truck as a company car for several months. Maybe he had to get the car fixed and repaired quietly so that no one would know that the car was damaged. The truth is that we will never know what really happen. By the way, Velocity Auto Sales did give me a $1400.00 reimbursement check to pay for some of the damages that I found. Unfortunately to get my new truck cleaned up and fixed up properly I will no longer have a clean Car Fax Report. So in the end, again I paid for a truck that is not what they said it was. The owners and managers obviously do not care about the bad reviews that they receive because stupid people like myself continue to do business with even though we read the bad reviews prior to buying. It is 100% my fault for doing business with a dealership that has such a bad reputation, read the review people! If your on the fence to buy a car from Velocity Auto Sales I would highly recommend that you do a little research prior to writing that check. With that being said, please understand that my goal today with this review is to simply share my situation with as many people in the Utah area as possible so that what happen to me doesn't happen to anyone else. I have pictures, videos and paperwork that I will upload and share here on Yelp, Google, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. If you are active on social media be on the look out, because I have a lot to share and will do so over the next few weeks. By the way, this Toyota Tundra is my 16th Toyota Truck and my 6th Toyota Tundra. I plan on driving this thing until it has 200K miles on it so hopefully I will get my money out this thing. It just sucks that Velocity Auto Sales will not do the right thing and lower the price a little now that we all know that this truck and The Car Fax Report is not 100% accurate.

My experience with Velocity auto sales was nothing short of exceptional. My sales person Waldo was incredible. I never had to worry "where Waldo was", as he was always on top of communication! This was a long distance purchase from the West Coast, and I could not have felt more well cared for by Waldo and the team at Velocity. I had a lot of questions...and I had never made a purchase of this magnitude sight unseen. The vehicle arrived quickly and exactly as described. Waldo's associate Marco (who I believe is a manager) also communicated effectively on some of the more complex issues. Whatever time of day or night I would email or call, these guys gave their personal numbers and always responded promptly. Bottom line, I am over the moon with my new truck and it is better than described. I recommend these gents highly. I would also add that Jo who manages all of the paperwork and titles and taxes and transfers is nothing short of fantastic. Folks like Jo are the ones that make these long distance experiences a real "feel good". She really did a great job, overnighted everything promptly and was super likable to boot. Bottom line, if you are looking for a solid transaction that will be as advertised or better, these are your people. Bravo Velocity.

The other amazing thing was, I bought front break pads from the Mercedes dealership and I asked them if they could use those and change them since I couldnt return it back. They said yes! This is unheard of. Most service companies make money off of parts. But these guys were great. The dealership was clean and everyone was nice. I do most of the work myself because I want to avoid people scamming me. I have already told 4 people about this and plan on posting about it on instagram to let everyone know. When I looked up the warnings, it recommended not driving the vehicle, so I had it towed to the dealership for diagnosis. This vehicle has been regularly serviced at another Toyota dealership, and part of the reason we chose to purchase a Toyota was for their reputation for engine performance and longevity. I was shocked by what I was told next. After diagnostics, I was informed my engine had major issues and needed significant repair. I was told cylinder #1 was misfiring and, after several tests including a leak-down test and compression test, that the bank 1 head and valves needed to be replaced. I was quoted just under $10,000 for repairs, on top of nearly $700 in diagnostic fees. I was extremely stressed and shocked that a well-maintained, relatively new vehicle would require what sounded like catastrophic engine work. After speaking with another Toyota dealership and a few independent mechanics, several expressed confusion that my vehicle would need such a major repair. Some even mentioned that for that price, a new engine could be installed. These were definite red flags, so I trusted my gut and sought a second opinion. Because we were under the impression the engine was in catastrophic condition and the vehicle shouldn't be driven, we had it towed a second time to another shop, which we later learned wasn't necessary. This added additional cost and stress. I'm incredibly glad I did. The second shop ran the same tests and found nothing wrong with cylinder #1. They were baffled that I had been told I needed such extensive work. Their diagnosis ultimately saved me $10,000. We did call the service manager to express our concerns. He was apologetic and explained that the results were slightly under Toyota's expectations, but not catastrophic. He asked how he could make it right and adjusted the diagnostic fees, which I appreciated. While I would rate my experience with him higher, I'm leaving one star specifically due to the diagnosis itself, which caused significant stress, unnecessary towing, and could have resulted in a very costly repair. I understand mistakes can happen, but this was one that could have been extremely expensive. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion when facing major repairs.

The interest rate on our used vehicle--especially one that was already a few years old--felt overwhelming, and we had been receiving multiple refinance offers that would have cut our payment nearly in half. That seemed like the practical path forward. Still, we decided to explore what Volkswagen SouthTowne might offer. We loved our Atlas, so we felt comfortable walking away if the experience didn't feel right. At worst, we would simply continue with our original plan and refinance through our credit union. From the moment we arrived, everything changed. We were immediately greeted by Mariah, whose energy was warm, genuine, and inviting. I'll admit, we came in a bit guarded and cautious, unsure of what to expect. Yet Mariah met us with patience and understanding, taking the time to truly listen--what we loved about our current vehicle, what we relied on day-to-day, and what features would enhance our lifestyle, from everyday errands to family camping trips. What stood out most was her approach. She was never pushy, never intimidating--just thoughtful and attentive. As a woman, I especially appreciated how she included me fully in the conversation. In past experiences, I've often felt overlooked or uncomfortable at dealerships, but with Mariah, I felt respected, heard, and completely at ease. We were curious about a newer Atlas, and in my mind, it was all or nothing--I wasn't interested unless it truly made sense. When we test drove the 2025 Atlas, we immediately fell in love. Still, we weren't sure if it would even be possible without additional money down. Mariah made it happen. The process itself was surprisingly smooth and efficient. In the past, we've spent hours waiting at dealerships, but this experience felt seamless. While everything was being finalized, she had us relax in a lounge area and even arranged for the vehicle to be detailed again--despite it already being spotless. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the atmosphere of the entire dealership. Every employee we encountered--sales staff, finance team, technicians--took a moment to check in, congratulate us, and share in our excitement. It created such a welcoming and positive environment, something we had never experienced before. Even after the deal was complete, Mariah continued to go above and beyond. She stayed to help us transfer all of our belongings from our old Atlas into the new one, double- and triple-checking that everything was perfect and that we felt completely confident before leaving. Her level of care didn't end with the sale--it felt genuine from start to finish. And then, when we thought the night couldn't be any more memorable, it was. After leaving the dealership, we realized my husband had misplaced his phone--possibly in our old vehicle or even on top of it. We rushed back, hoping for the best. Although Mariah had already gone home, one of the remaining team members--who appeared to be from the service or detailing department--stepped in without hesitation to help us. Despite it being the end of a long day, he went out of his way to assist, even riding with us across the lot to check our old vehicle. To our amazement, the phone was sitting right on top of the car, completely unharmed. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help--without making us feel like an inconvenience--left a lasting impression. He even took the time to ask about our new car and congratulate us before we left. That moment truly reflected the culture at Volkswagen SouthTowne. Our experience here completely changed our perception of car dealerships. What once felt stressful and intimidating now feels welcoming and even enjoyable. While we had read great reviews before visiting, seeing it firsthand made all the difference. Without hesitation, we will return in the future--and we will absolutely seek out Mariah again. She brings a rare combination of professionalism and genuine warmth that makes the entire process feel effortless. Thank you, Mariah, and thank you to the entire team at Volkswagen SouthTowne. Whatever you're doing, it's working. You've created an environment that truly stands out. If you're considering a new vehicle, I highly recommend visiting Volkswagen SouthTowne--and be sure to ask for Mariah.

After the purchase, when we asked for the warranty paperwork, we were told the vehicle didn't qualify due to being just over 60,000 miles--something that should have been clearly disclosed upfront. On top of that, we discovered items were added into our deal after we had declined them, which is extremely concerning and something buyers should watch very carefully before signing. Since then, I've made multiple attempts to resolve this--calls, messages, and conversations with different "managers"--and keep getting told someone will follow up, but no one ever does.
