Car bought in Idaho but received expert service by the great team in South Jordan.

10 gold stars for the CarMax South Jordan team, with a special shout out to Hayden! Three days before leaving for her sophomore year at University of Utah, my daughter's car was diagnosed with a transmission issue that would be too costly to fix. With no time to spare, we bought a Nissan from the CarMax in Meridian, Idaho. There was a known issue with the AC that was agreed to be fixed before her departure. After we walked out of the dealership, the sales person was MIA and was no help. Thankfully, Gabe in the Meridian service department connected us with Hayden. After a sweaty 5 Hour Dr. to Utah, we pulled into CarMax and were in great hands with Hayden. He provided a loaner car, called every day with a status, and was just so accountable for the issue. And it wasn't even from his dealership. Hats off to the UT service dept and to Hayden! He's the best!

Salespeople and the folks that work at service are awesome. Salespeople do not pressure you whatsoever in terms of buying a car or not, if you find a car you want to look at, you just fill out a form and they hand you the keys for you to drive for 30 mins or so, you get to drive the vehicle wherever you want without a salesperson telling you to turn here and there. I do like that concept because it gives you a better chance of evaluating of the vehicle is for you or not. Once you're done, you go in and decide if you want the vehicle or not. We went through 3 different vehicles within a few weeks. Their 10 day satisfaction is great. We were able to switch and find the exact Audi we wanted with the features that we were looking for. Of course, the 3rd vehicle we got, had a lot of scratches. They took it back within a week and had it fixed.

I've never had such a phenomal first time experience selling a car this route - the process was seamless, simple, easy, and lightning FAST ‼ CarMax gave me the highest offer for my vehicle, and gave me 7 days to simmer on the offer. No haggling, no stress, no bull. In the end, they even give you a checklist to know what to bring. From the moment you arrive, to checking the vehicle , giving you the written offer, and paperwork, it was 35 minutes in and out the door - I was blown away how efficient and friendly the staff was. Yes, you do need to make an appointment online, but once you show up, check in - it was literally 35 minutes in and out. I will definitely come back to them in the future for our car needs!

AVOID AT AL COSTS:…read more Yeah. Don't do business here. I bought a 2021 VW Tiguan new. Here we are, and its breaking down. I bought and paid for an all moving parts service contract, some how their system says it doesn't exist. WILD. So I take it in for an OIL LEAK. Days later, I am hearing back. The service writer took a day off, didn't transfer his work load to a coworker to check in on the car, left the customer waiting in limbo. Half of their digital estimate and repair system is confusing and junk. Two different things are causing leaks. One is fixed, the other needs approval, bringing the total to $1826. Taylor Dodson, the service writer, tells me that the total due is $1826 - for an oil leak. I find out afterwards that the bill is now $2820.26 because that $920 is AFTER the $1826. I have the message right here where he says the total cost is $1826. They nickle and dime you. I got 2x $195 inspection charges, for the same oil leak issue, that they claim is "separate". Charges for every little thing. Now I get to come up with an extra $1000. I wouldn't ever come back here, I don't trust them or their people. Shady business going on. Avoid if you are not filthy rich with money to just throw away.

As a repeat customer, I expected that loyalty and history would mean something, but my most recent experience has been extremely disappointing. I purchased a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SE with Technology, and with only approximately 2,200 miles, the leather seats are already showing cracking and deterioration. I understand that issues can happen with any vehicle, but what has been most frustrating is how the situation has been handled. I contacted the dealership expecting assistance with what should clearly be a warranty concern. I was told that information would be submitted to Volkswagen for review. After waiting and following up, I contacted Volkswagen Customer Care directly and was informed that nothing had been submitted on their end. That leaves me with a very frustrating question: was the claim never submitted, or was I given incorrect information? Either way, the communication and follow-through have been unacceptable. This dealership has recently transitioned ownership to Ken Garff, and I sincerely hope this is an opportunity to improve the customer experience. A new owner should mean a renewed commitment to service--not customers having to chase down answers themselves after spending significant money on a new vehicle. I have been a loyal Volkswagen SouthTowne customer, but loyalty works both ways. Customers should feel appreciated and supported after the purchase, not forgotten once the paperwork is signed. I have photos documenting the condition of the seats, and I hope management takes this opportunity to address the issue and improve the experience for future customers.

We were there until after 7 p.m. and a not insubstantial chunk of that was waiting around. Their parking lot was also overstuffed with cars--not sure if they were all inventory or a combo of inventory and customers, but it was not really navigable. Had to park elsewhere and walk. That said, aside from the length of time, we had a pretty great experience with the team at Utah Used Cars. Matt was our salesman and did a great job answering questions and thoroughly explaining the process and options. Helen walked us through each piece of paperwork clearly and efficiently. Everyone was friendly and solicitous, offering water and snacks and even t-shirts. Long process but not complicated and we left with a reasonably priced car we're pleased with. Would recommend.

Good thing too - I wasn't aware they were even there, and that was one of the days they were open. We met Matt about 5 minutes before close, and just asked about the company. Ended up getting the website info, got to browse the cars there. Went the next day to test drive and talked to Matt about a few cars there, but again it was late and we wanted to talk over the purchase price, options - all that jazz - before we committed to a vehicle. We followed up today (Saturday) after hours of research on our car model, pricing, safety specs, all the important things (since the first car we were interested in, read up on, etc. was not available at the lot). After several bad car experiences over the years at other dealerships more in the AutoMall/Murray Automall areas, I was extremely surprised at how pain-free this was (aside from a snafu at my mechanic delaying our PPI by about an hour). Matt knew about 80% of the questions we had on the car, and was honest about what he knew and didn't - and when he didn't, he looked it up with us online so we had the same information he did. Straightforward pricing, with great options for warranty and protection. Upfront about repairing the issues with the PPI (we had a minor issue with a strut) and had a work order drawn up since it was well after close when we concluded. Fantastic service from start to finish - from the sales team (Matt mostly, but Lee on the phone, and Helen with the financing), very easy process. This is the 8th car I've bought in my life, since I tend to wear them down for years or until they die. In all that time, the only easier person to buy from was my mom when I was 16. -1 star for not making me some food after purchase like mom did. If you're looking for the haggle game, go to a bigger dealership. Haggle away... to get the same prices we did in 30 seconds of internet searches. If you're looking for the "free air freshener and tank of gas!" by paying $1500 more than you should, go talk to the big guys. If you want good service, honest answers, and advice on a few good places to eat in Salt Lake, go talk to Matt. -1 more star for not getting me an air freshener. (5 stars, Utah Used Car is the only dealer I've found in 22 years of driving that I trust, that has been honest and fair, and has me already raving to friends and family!)

They Only Care Until the Ink is Dry on the Financing Agreement…read more I originally left a stellar review for Tim Dahle Nissan Southtowne in South Jordan, Utah, after purchasing my 2023 Nissan Ariya. I even kept my financing agreement with them to show loyalty to a dealership that seemed to value its customers. I deeply regret both of those decisions now. Before my one-year warranty was even up, my vehicle developed an intermittent squealing and scraping noise at low speeds. I took it in for a diagnosis, and the mechanic found the passenger front brake backing plate was bent and making direct contact with the rotor. The official diagnostic notes explicitly stated there was "evidence of someone prying on the backing plate"--a clear sign of technician error, almost certainly from a careless tire rotation or mechanical prep during its warranty period. The fix was literally a service manager pushing the thin metal back into place with his fingers, but I was still slapped with a $200 out-of-pocket diagnostic fee. I reached out directly to Bill Hadsell and the sales management team, providing all the invoices, documentation, and a perfectly reasonable request to reimburse the $200 for a mechanic's error that occurred under their watch. Instead of doing the right thing and honoring their commitment to customer satisfaction, they completely screwed me over. The "great reputation" they push online is a total facade. They are more than happy to take your money, lock you into a financing agreement, and then leave you high and dry the second you need basic, post-sale support. If you are thinking about buying a vehicle here, beware. Their loyalty to you ends the exact second you drive off the lot.

My car had a tire pressure light on that they said they would fix and when I had it in to fix the just reset the light. The light was on for a reason. There were multiple pieces of metal in the tire (which they said they took off and checked) I had to purchase a tire from Big O. I also had the oil change pckage and the 18 year old that did my last oil change over torqued my drain plug and bent the opening pretty bad so he put a really big after market plug in with a gasket. BMW said that the entire oil pan had to be replaced, Fortunately I went in and threw a big enough fit that they gave me a written promis that they would replace it if it ever leaked. Then I found that the rear passenger door was broken with the child lock on and the Transfer case was out. Everytime I took it back they said it was fine. The warranty that they sold me for 3k was locked to their service dept! I finally got someone to listen to me and they checked out the transfer case and said it did fail. It had metal shavings in the fluid. They used to check off that they rotated my tires and they didnt until I told them too. Then when I drove home my car started making a weird noise about a block from home. My husband checked and the lugnuts on my driver side front tire were so loose that it could have fallen off. I can see why they have been closed down. update: my oil pan is leaking now and the dealer is closed, the gentleman who promised a replacement is saying the they will honor it since it was all part of the Larry H Miller chain and he is still a district manager there. After getting my oil changed and alignment at another competing shop, I was told my cabin air filter, right CV axle, and battery, with 76% CCA remaining, needed to be replaced. I called four shops to get quotes for replacing the right CV axle. All of them came in within about 10-20% of each other, except Immaculate. I spoke with Bill at Immaculate, and he quickly provided an exact quote for the right CV axle, which came in at 60% lower than the quoted price from the other shops. He also advised me not to replace the battery, but to get it checked closer to winter. After shopping around, I called Bill back to get a quote using OEM parts, and he happily provided it. This all occurred on Friday, July 3rd, between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. He also told me he could get my car scheduled for Tuesday. I thought it over the weekend and called Bill on Monday to schedule it for Wednesday. When I brought the car in, I asked them to check and quote several other items in addition to replacing the right CV axle, including two windshield wipers, two tires with mounting, balancing, and rotation, the engine air filter, cabin air filter, and a transmission drain and fill. I made several calls to Bill regarding different tire brands, tire warranties, and other options, and he happily helped every time. He always provided accurate quotes, and if he didn't have an answer, he would find out and call me back. Everything was completed the same day, and Bill brought the total price down to less than the cost of just replacing the CV axle at three other shops. I also had the chance to interact with KC, who happily answered my calls and questions when Bill wasn't available and even performed the tire rotation himself.
