I see the Family Nurse Practitioner at this facility once a year to get my Humira refilled and get my TB test done. While there last, I told him I wanted to change back to syringes because the Epi pens hurt and make me bleed every time no matter where I inject myself. Was not able to listen well enough to do this and prescribed Epi pens again!!!!!!!! It is a lot stressful when you and your insurance company spend good money to see these people and they don't listen!!!!! Next time I will be bringing Qtips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Had one appt with Dr. Kraffert and I will never return. This is EXACTLY what happened: He rushed into the room not speaking to me, looked at his computer, turned and glanced at my foot from across the room, wrote a prescription ($1250.00/mo didn't ask if I have drug insurance) and as he walked out the room he dropped a piece of paper on my lap that he had written the name of the psoriasis on and rudely said the following: "Here. You can look it up on Google. You know, your Google doctor!" That was the entire appointment and every word that was said!!!!! I was dumbfounded! When I told my family physician what happened he said he would never refer to him again as this was about the 10th time he had heard something like this happening with Kraffert. I have heard that Lindsey Miller is good but I will never return there for any reason. read more

Appointment with Dr. Kraffert. I've been going there for years, but this is the first time I saw him as I requested for this appointment. I was greeted by front office staff right away. She asked a couple quick questions to confirm my info, and she was efficient knowing my copay. It was a nice quick exchange. I waited less than 5 minutes before I was called back. The assistant immediately confirmed my dob, to make sure she had the correct patient and away we went! I don't like my face messed with and of course that's what I was there for. The doctor listened and understood my needs. He kept things clinical and positive. He was very efficient. After my treatment he told his assistants to have me lay back till I was feeling better. I've been to Dr. Kraffert before for Rosacea and he seemed fine. It was a quick and easy appointment. I went back to him December 2, 2016 because of multiple issues with my fingernails and for a renewal of my topical medicine for Rosacea. I got the refill no problem. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful. I give them 5 stars. However, I had a miserable experience with the doctor. When I first made the appointment, I was asked if I'd rather see a P. A. I said I'd rather wait for the doctor. My appointment was about 3 weeks from when I called and originally scheduled for December 8 or so. They called December 1 to say that they had to change my appointment to later the next week. I made a comment that my nail was going to rot off. They said that I could see a Physician Assistant on the day of my regular appointment but I again declined and said I'd rather wait for the doctor. They then asked if I could come in the next day, December 2 which was a Friday. I said wonderful, thank you. I finally got into the exam room and the gal asked me what I was seeing the doctor for. I had a list of several nail issues-my nails all seemed to go on strike at the same time but had different things wrong with them. She typed all that up into a computer. When the doctor came in I told him again why I was there. He looked at my nails and said I had Pincer nails and talked about how there wasn't anything to do about it and about the history of it. He didn't address anything about what I had said I was there for except to say cut my nails short and keep them that way for 3 months. When I tried to talk to him about the fact that my right pinky finger's cuticle was red and swollen he was literally walking out the door and said "that is an irritation and I can't do anything about it." I've have never, ever had a doctor walk out in the middle of an exam before. My pinky nail totally rotted off later, blood under the nail I think from the swollen cuticle. It is now July 10, 2017 and the tip of my pinky nail is still a weird shape but growing out. The other issue I was there about is better but I still have a problem with it. He also misdiagnosed one of the problems I had. I had onycholysis on my right thumb-a lofiting of the nail off the nail bed. He said I had it on someothers. I did have it on the thumb but not the others. The others had big white marks on the nail-similar to a nail bruise but bigger-because of a bad reaction to a polish. I discovered this on my own via the internet. One of the things that made me mad is if he was so short on time, why the heck did he talk forever about Pincer nails when I wasn't even there for that and there wasn't anything to do about it. He didn't even tell me what it was. I had to look it up when I got home. my nails don't look like pincer nails to me at all. I think the doctor normally is closed Friday afternoons but had scheduled the people who he had to reschedule instead. Whatever the cause, he didn't help at all and actually walked out in the middle of an appointment when I was talking to him. I might add that I have to pay every penny of the cost, not my insurance. I think the doctor is skilled and knowledgeable but I do not recommend him at all and will never be going back. I want to say again that his office staff is very helpful and nice. I have had 3 appointments cancelled by this office. One because the office didn't have the required paperwork( the office had called me for the appt. so that was their fault). The other 2 were cancelled because they had "emergencies" that were occurring in 2 weeks that needed to be seen during my appt. time. When I called to reschedule the next available appt was in 5 weeks. I haven't even been seen yet-hopefully my problem isn't an emergency! This shows a complete lack of respect for the patient, their time and their problem. Have found another doctor. read more

As a mother of a son with severe acne, he was prescribed Accutane. Since day one, the communication and coordination between his health insurance carrier, his pharmacy and the doctor's office was fragmented. After making phone calls to determine where the ball was dropped, it was the Redding Dermatology office who failed to submit a request for his medication to be approved by his insurance carrier. It took about a week before the issue was resolved. A few months later, my son moved to another city. Because his medication was on the restricted list, I had to coordinate communication between the Redding Dermatology office and his new dermatology office. His new dermatologist requested that my son complete his lab work before meeting him for the first time. I called the Redding Dermatology office to make arrangements for his Doctor to send the lab request out so the procedure could be taken care of before my son's first appointment with his new dermatologist. Because of my negative initial experience with the Redding Dermatology office, I called the office two days later to follow up. I asked to see whether or not if my son's lab request was sent out. No one had a clue. No notes. No nothing. Naturally, I was livid. I was on the call with Dr. Reber's medical assistant who did some trouble-shooting. She was able to find a solution and hopefully, this afternoon will be my last contact with the office. The office staff needs some one at the helm to help streamline communications within and outside of the office. Very, very, very disorganized... read more

Lindsay Miller saved our day again! My 9 year old had some pretty large warts on her foot. We had already gone to another Dr. for treatment. Which had not been successful. We met Lindsay she was so sweet and did an amazing job. It's about 6 months later and those warts are still gone. My daughter recently had a small wart surface on her chin. As you know children can be cruel. So my daughter wanted it removed as soon as possible. Redding Derm got us in that week! So that she wouldn't have to suffer as long. The treatment was quick and easy. My daughter is so excited to be rid of the wart. She just has a little mark on her face. No one even noticed at school! Thank you again for being our super woman! If I could give zero stars I would. Jock Perkins is a joke. I went there for a full body scan and he literally looked at three different spots on my body. Being very light-skinned I told him I was worried about skin cancer spots on my face and he suggested putting me on an antipsychotic because I had been itching. This was after I told him I only take Advil on the very rare occasion. And his response is to want to put me on an antipsychotic...? I got charged for a full body scan and did not get one. Then I got $107 bill for it. Will never return and don't recommend! read more

Both myself and a family member have had to wait almost an hour for our appointments the last two visits we've had. The staff are friendly enough, but gave a half hearted excuse for the long wait. I work in the health care field, so I understand getting behind schedule, but an apology or explanation would have been appreciated. The quality of care is good here but they schedule so many people per hour that you only get a few minutes with the Doctor. I didn't have time to even fully explain my symptoms before I was prescribed medication and the Doctor left. Next time I have a skin issue I will be looking elsewhere. read more

This review is for Brian Reber PA-C. After exposing my hands to a number of potential irritants my hand exploded in blisters. The palm of my hand was covered with blisters so large that I could not close my hand. Most of my palm was covered with 1/4" - 1/2" thick overlapping blisters. My GP got me into Redding Dermatology where I met Mr. Reber. He walked into the exam room glanced at my hand and immediately diagnosed it as dyshidrotic eczema which turned out to be wrong and prescribed 2 topical creams. Disturbingly enough, he wasn't interested in the potential irritants that may have caused the reaction. The blisters got worse over the weekend and I visited a local dermatologist the following Monday. After carefully listening to the events leading up to my blistered hand, my local dermatologist diagnosed the condition as a severe case of contact dermatitis and treated it the only way possible at this advanced stage - with a steroid shot and within days my hand was on the mend. This was not a complicated case. The difference between my local dermatologist and Mr. Reber was that my local dermatologist spent the time to do some detective work to come up with the correct diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment. read more

I met Dr Kraffert 10 years ago, and was impressed with his kind manner, and all the time he spent with me. He figured out my condition, showed a lot of compassion when he found there was no cure. Just recently I visited him again, in a Fancy new big office, and found that he had become Very busy, I waited for 25 minutes in a room, the appointment was quite short, no time to really show compassion, yet again he was extremely knowledgeable and fast to diagnose. Unfortunately, again there was no cure and no understanding of why people got this skin condition. He gave me a prescription for a cream that might help, but failed to tell me that it would cost $450 for a 12 oz tube. THAT was a shocker. I would highly recommend him, but I'm sorry to see that the business growth has taken it's toll on service. read more

I highly recommend Dr Kraffert for any skin issues. He has worked miracles for my father. My father's skin on his legs below his knees was thick, cracked, dark and oozing. No other Doctor knew what to do for him. Dr Kraffert knew exactly what to do and within a couple of months all of that ugly, thick, cracked skin sloughed off and underneath was beautiful smooth normal skin. I didn't think it was possible. I dropped a gff of fora deem app - she has eye issues and has a difficult time filling out the 6 page questionnaire .I read the questions for her - coming from a Nursing background I was just alert to the attention towards the importance of how the staff frequented the pts - asked if the needed help with the 5- 6 page questionnaire! there was absolutely no one ever that asked ,provided for a pt if they felt they didn't want everyone in the waiting room to know their physical & mental history . That pissed me off - because I worked in the medical field u know one of the papers signed , a hipa paper . No one in there but me to explain all that !me off . After I finished filling out the forms for my friend I asked had the any liquid hand sanitizer - I was told no but I was wcome to use the bathroom Si k & wTer . For a deem office it seemed odd. To know have gallons of that stuff in contai ores around the room . how the handled the pts & or guests . Took us for bloody ever to fill out the pages . Kraffert the pea size cyst was removed , it grew back shortly in one side, after and the second time they charged me again for the procedure that was not done right the very first time. After complaining about the bill the wouldn't"t do anything for you . I have been seeing Brian at Redding derm for about 3 years and have always had a positive experience. This week I had an appointment at 10:30AM on Tuesday. On Monday I received the customary automated appointment reconfirmation at 5:30PM. The following morning Shingletown awoke to no electricity and I had a text message from PG&E that power would be restored between 11 and 11:15AM. That presented a real problem since I have an electric garage door opener and gate. As soon as it was 8:00 AM I called the office and waited and waited on hold so I hung up and called back and this time listened to the prompts to speak with Brian's medical assistant. I left her a detailed voice message as to why I was canceling. A few minutes later I again called the main receptionist to reschedule and after a lengthy wait I did get through. The receptionist asked what the spelling of my name was and my DOB, etc. Then she told me I didn't have an appointment. I told her I had called and canceled with Brian's MA. She said no, I would still see that and there was never an appointment to be canceled. I told her that was very odd because the night before I had received an automated reconfirmation message to which she replied that was not possible because they always reconfirm 2 days ahead. I asked if maybe that was because 2 days ahead would be a Sunday and she kind of laughed me off and said it's 2 days ahead 7 days a week. Please keep in mind I do have that call recorded on my phone so I guess she doesn't know that sometimes they reconfirm 1 day ahead. There was absolutely no convincing her. She said my last appointment was in February of 2017 and I told her that was true but that I had called several weeks ago to schedule this appointment for the removal of a growth that we have been watching. She actually asked me if I was sure it was Redding Derm, that maybe I had called another dermatologist. Are you kidding me?! The call ended with a flippant no problem because I never had an appointment anyway! No mention of rescheduling which to be honest I was not so sure I wanted. A couple of hours later I did call back to Brian's MA and I was lucky enough to speak with her. She had gotten my message and had cancelled my appointment (which really did exist!) I briefly told her about my experience with the rude receptionist but I never did receive a call back to reschedule. read more

Outrageous overcharging. You wil be charged for examination of your arms, legs and trunk, but all the doctor looks at is your chest and back. They will remove harmless cosmetic discolorations using a freezing nitrogen spray, from your body, without asking you and then charge you a few hundred dollars for doing so. They will 'guess' that you 'may' have a certain skin issue and after a few hundred dollars in charges, tell you it wasn't anything. Besides the doctor's assistant, they bring in a trainee who is being taught by the doctor, using your half naked body as his teaching tool. That's 3 people staring at you while you are half naked. The doctor saw me for less that 10 minutes and for this I was charged $1400.00 with two separate invoices. Absolutely nothing was wrong with my skin that required anything other than a simple exam to verify that I was fine. Never again will I go to this place. read more

I visited the satellite office in Mt. Shasta. After having been greeted by the doctor as "lucky to have them them visit in Mt. Shasta, as opposed to my having to drive to Redding" I was already put on edge. Then the doctor examined me "head to toe" and said that he wouldn't touch a thing"...as sometimes you get infections when you 'disturbed things that do not need to be disturbed.' Although I was happy I did not have issues with my skin, I did want to have moles, red spots and skin tags removed. The doctor discouraged this, whether he was short of time or interest, and said that if I really wanted the procedure to remove these items, to call him. Not likely. read more

Wow. Talk about the lowest common denominator. I guess us city folk are just used to a level of quality. I should have known that this practice treats their patiest as a business when the first thing asked of me when i walked in was a $75 copay. After waiting patiently for 30 min dr. Bryan comes in looks at my skin and says that he is not qualified to make a diagnosis as all he works with are infections...then recommends a rx that is banned in 6 countries. ..then advises me to come back in 3 weeks and see the real doctor. Really? This place is what city folk call a racket. They dont offer skin treatments, lasers or dermalogical care. How can you recommend a horrible rx without first a diagnosis. Unfortunately this place is for people in Redding that have gotten accustomed to mediocracy and just dont know any better. Going to a real derm in Sac now. It sad that I even gave Dr. Kraffert one star, but it wont let you give none. I had a visit there for my skin condition which basically is tunneling boils. I was completely humiliated by Dr. Kraffert. I was called staypuff marshmellow girl and was told I needed to lose weight (im 5'5 and weigh a healthy 140lbs.) After he left the room his tiny assistant told me "it could be worse, you could have acne." at that point I told her I wish I had acne and at least she could wear a bathing suit. I ended up reporting the office to the medical board. I also wrote them a letter telling them how hurt I was and that I would be finding treatment else where. About a month later I get a phone call reminding me I had a appointment. I asked if the recieved my letter and the lady said "yeah". I asked her if she had read it and she hung up. I did not pay someone to help me, to get humiliated instead.. I feel that unless its cosmetic he doesn't want to deal with you. read more

Worst experience of my life. The main doctor was a sexist who turned to my husband and said that my opinion,the patient, didn't matter only his. He didn't talk directly to me. I told him when he walked in and said I was wasting my time there that it offended me and broke down any trust in him he completely dismissed it and argued instead of examining me. I was there to follow up on a removal of a serious tumor and he dismissed it before he even looked over it once. As he left he turned to my husband and insulted me. He's immature and unprofessional. I've also looked at other sites before posting this here to yelp and there are many posts complaining not only of mistreating patients but also neglectful diagnosing. read more

My wife showed up 5 minutes after appointment time only to be told that her appointment had been cancelled. When my wife asked how long they wait before cancelling someone's appointment, the response was 10 minutes. So my wife was subjected to a demeaning and unprofessional staff member who law only solution was re-booking for more than 1 month out, despite being within whatever "acceptable" time limits were for an appointment. Can't say anything about the doctors or treatment because the rude staff prevented a scheduled visit. Extremely disappointed in this establishment. I'm not usually a one star reviewer, choosing to give the business the benefit of the doubt, but the responsibility of training a professional staff squarely rests on the shoulders of the leadership. I recently had to switch dermatologist because my insurance would not pay for me to keep going to my regular dermatologist. So I made my first appointment with dr Kraffert and not only did I have to wait a long time in the lobby but when I finally got up there I waited about another 30 minutes before I got seen. When I finally met mr Kraffert it was very strange interaction and felt his methods did not work for me. I thought I would give it one more try. The 2nd time I was suppose to have an appointment they called me to have me move my appointment because dr Kraffert asked to have it moved. I explained that that would not work as I had taken time off work to make this appointment. So that did not work and I did not get seen. I had to reschedule for my 3rd visit which I had to wait a month and guess what they did it again. Called the day of the appointment to say dr Kraffert had to move my appointment and let me tell you the girl at the front counter was so rude. I told her that that was really inconvenient for me as I took time off work again and this is the 2nd time this has happened. She did not even offer me to see someone else and very unhelpful. She told me that if I had a problem that I could voice my concerns with dr Kraffert at my next appointment. She could have been nicer and understand that people can not just take time of work and then be canceled on last min. I sure dr Kraffert would not like it if his patients just canceled last min or did not show. It's rude. I no longer will be going to redding derm as they do not care about there patients clearly. I haven't been to Redding dermatology yet. Just received my referral from my primary care physician. I have been diagnosed with hidradenitis suprativa which I am now finding out from google that it is actually a more common skin condition than I thought and after that I felt less scared and disgusting. I'm am so nervous reading these reviews as it is a very embarrassing and sensitive subject for me. I have been asked if I have aids or if I'm a drug addict. Each time I go to the doctor I leave crying. I would like to know if I should NOT go here as I really can't handle being humiliated once again. read more
