But, I ended up having to beg for my medication to be called in every single month. I would call and it still wouldn't have my medications called in to the pharmacy . So, I would call again. Dr. Reeder told me to use the patient portal online because his staff would forget to give him message But I could never get it to work, even after being given a new password on three occssions. Each month after getting my prednisone dosage down I would have to bring it back up to control the pain due to not having my methotrexate. I finally called today for the third time this month (it is the 21st) and am upset and in pain. I asked if every patient has to beg for their medication every month and was told "yes, it is a controlled sunstance" I am done. I don't know how I will deal with this pain but I will do it without being treated like a third rate human. I do not advise anyone who is of lower income to even bother with this office. Sadly it's the only rheumatologist in my area my insurance would cover. So there again is no help for me. But, I refuse to be treated like I'm not worth any effort because I'm not as financially well off as some others. That's exactly what I feel is the issue.

I received a partial hip replacement several years ago from Dr. Ferraro. He ordered no pt for me…read moreso I had to heal all on my own. it was five years of complete and total misery and I can't walk to this day. Dr. Ferraro is a hand specialist and had no business performing a partial hip replacement on me. None whatsoever. This doctor butchered my hip! it has never felt right. To this day I'm in pain from my hip. Thanks for nothing you incompetent idiot!

I was a patient many many years ago at Shasta Orthopaedics, and had the worst care anyone could ask…read morefor. First of all, I was in his office for a broken arm, and the word Carpal Tunnel was never mentioned in the appointment I had to go over my surgery with both Dr. Ferraro & Dr. Schillen, but Dr. Ferraro thought I said my hand hurt, so he dictated 20 minutes later, that I needed Carpel Tunnel Surgery, of which he slipped in while doing my other surgery. He refunded my insurance company, but refused to tell them why!!! Dr. Ferraro must have a long conveyor belt and thinks all of his patients need Carpel Tunnel Surgery. Or maybe that is all he knows how to do. Dr. Ferraro's ability to figure out what may be wrong with his patients is impossible. It took at least 9 months of PT, casts up to my armpit for 4 months, a bone stimulator for 70 days, surgery on my other arm, due to over use because my other arm was in a cast for so long. I had to go to San Francisco to find out that when my arm was broken, my Ulna was shoved up into my wrist. And because Dr. Ferraro's office had me use a bone stimulator for 70 days, my bone filled in, so basically the Ulna in my wrist was too long, and there was no way I could bend my wrist over. Am I the first person that has ever had a broken arm that did this? The "Hand Specialist" as he is known as in Redding, never even figured that out. It took my new Dr. in San Francisco 10 minutes of looking at Dr. Ferraro's x-rays to know what was wrong. I had to have my Ulna shortened, which meant sawing my Ulna and my nerve in half, putting in a plate with 7 screws, to hold my bone in place that was pulled out of my wrist. Quite an ordeal, but the care I was given in San Francisco was above board, and they knew what they were doing. Dr. Ferraro caused me years and years of problems, and I would never step foot in that office again!!!!! And now, his office has done it again!!!! I have a friend that is really messed up and he has not been the Dr. he should be, and it's obvious, he should be doing something else, or maybe just stick to Carpal Tunnel Surgery. Not to mention his inefficient MA. What a joke! I can't believe that almost 20 years after my ordeal with Dr. Ferraro, that he's still unable to diagnose anything different or out of the ordinary. And you'd think that maybe 'HE' would want to consult with another Orthopaedic Dr. Wow, what a concept! He is so arrogant that he probably thinks he knows it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot even tell I had an injury. I walk up to 18k steps per day at times, with a daily average of between 9k to 11k depending on our projects. I'm 67 and still cruising like I'm 40. Thank you Dr Schillen and your entire staff, the entire staff in Physical Therapy led by Mr. Martin no acquaintance, I also would like to recognize the PA beautiful lady that saw me to start with when i first went to the office at Shasta Orthopedics and couldn't walk. She went running down the hall to catch the doctor as she knew he was going to be out for a week, she knew I needed emergency surgery when she viewed the MRI, sorry, I do not remember her name. she was key to my needs. He is good at communicating all of the options available to you and is really good at dumbing them down to help you understand exactly what would be taking place and what impact that would have. He is courteous and will give his advice but seems to be very conscious of when you want to hear it and when to withhold it. I wouldn't want anyone else operating on me. I had multiple friends come to him for other surgeries and they also had nothing but the best things to say about him. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Schillen especially if you are an athlete. 17/17 on the snasty scale

BEWARE OF DR STEPHAN AKERS!!! MEDICAL HOSTAGE…read moreMy granddaughter is being held hostage at Mercy Medical in Redding CA, in the NICU by a rogue doctor, Stephan Akers, who refuses to transfer my daughter's sick child to UC Davis and won't release her to go home. She has gotten worse since she's been in there since day 2. We are on day 19 and no answers. They have done all procedures without informed consent. Now she has an infection and they refuse to transfer my sick granddaughter to a level 4 NICU. This hospital has given us the wrong baby to watch on the NICU monitor, so we thought Isabella had a breathing tube put in. They say she has failed to thrive but she's gaining weight every day. She is past her birth weight of 7lbs 5oz. Now there is a wound on her bottom that they called in a wound care specialist for, again without consent, a feeding tube without consent. She's over 7 lbs and her vitals are perfect. This is so ridiculous. When my daughter asked if she could get a second opinion, the SWAT officer who came to kick Dad off hospital grounds told her "no."They kicked Reese, the baby's dad, off hospital property until my daughter promised to "keep him in check." My daughter hasn't got to bond with her baby and now we could lose her because he refuses to transfer her. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! I would give it a negative review because he doesn't deserve
