There's a reason why this place made number four on the Texas Monthly top 50 barbecue restaurants. That list is made every single four years, and this is their first time on the list and premiering. It was such an incredible experience. I got to meet the pit masters, saw them at their craft. We got to try so many different meats: two different sausages, the brisket, the burnt ends, the pork rib. The meats were all amazing, but the standout dishes were the sides, such as the scallop potato mac and cheese, the salad, it was incredible. The breads that are made in-house are insane. The pita bread was so good with the beef tallow dip, honey dip, and also the dinner roll was insane. Some of the best sides I've ever had in my entire life. This is a barbecue experience that's worth the drive. It took us about two hours from Houston to here, and it was well worth the trip. I would definitely do it again.

Be prepared to wait quite awhile but it's worth it! Pro tip: they have chairs & umbrellas up by the door that you are welcome to use while waiting in line (it can be very hot & sunny). It took us about 45 mins to finally order. The reason the line takes so long is because everyone orders through the owner who also takes the time to chat with you & answer questions etc. Lots of seating inside. I don't eat beef so my options were limited but the turkey was so good! Ate a pork rib which was also flavorful and delicious. Don't skip the sides: cornbread pudding is sweet, Shirazi salad is cucumber, tomato & onion with lovely spices. I also had the pita & feta which came with the koobideh sausage, pillowy soft! The choc chip bread pudding is made from their leftover rolls and was also a great treat (but can also just have the cornbread pudding for dessert). Don't skip out!

Best BBQ in southeast Texas. This establishment is ran by genuine friendly locals. Definitely recommend trying this place while in the Mid County area.

The last stop on our top 50 Texas Monthly Barbecue joints. The line didn't move very fast. , but wait was worth it!

Review: The Culinary Zenith of Texas BBQ in Port Neches Tucked away on the edge of the quaint town of Port Neches sits a barbecue joint that is not just good--it is deserving of every ounce of praise it receives. Recognized as a Texas Monthly Top 10 BBQ awards winner, sitting proudly at number four, this establishment transcends the standard smokehouse experience. The dedication to quality is apparent from the moment you arrive: the line formed sharply at 9:30 AM on a Saturday, yet the wait was made delightful by staff who emphasize service, offering free beer and chairs to those queuing. Their friendly, inviting demeanor sets the stage for a truly elevated culinary outing. The Meats: Smoked Perfection The star of the show, unequivocally, is the Brisket. It boasts excellent flavor with a bark that is a perfect, savory mix of salt and pepper. What truly sets it apart is the texture: super juicy and possessing a melt-in-the-mouth goodness that confirms the pitmasters here know how to craft a truly perfect brisket. Complementing the main cut were the Brisket Burnt Ends, delivering super juicy, smoky bites that acted as concentrated flavor bombs. The menu successfully ventures beyond traditional Texas staples with outstanding results. The Honey Glazed Pork Ribs were a perfect blend of sweet and savory, offering a nice honey glaze and that coveted "fall-off-the-bone" tenderness while still maintaining a great bite. The sausage selection is where true creativity shines. The Koobideh sausage is a Mediterranean delicacy, featuring an amazing mixture of spices that holds its own even before adding slaw and sauce. The Cajun Cheddar and Green Onion Sausage provides a decadent contrast with a satisfying cheddar ooze and a memorable peppery kick. Finally, the complementary bites of Boudin offered a nice spice profile and a great, authentic texture from the rice and meat mixture. Even the bonus slice of Turkey was impressive--juicy, mild, and featuring a beautiful flavor on the skin. The Sides: Elevating the Classics The sides here are far from an afterthought; they are elevated dishes in their own right. The Red Beans and Rice is a triumph, packed full of delicious brisket and sausage, featuring a rich gravy with deep flavor, brightened by a green onion crunch. Any Cajun would be proud of this dish, where the beans and rice, jokingly, are almost an afterthought to the rich, meaty gravy. The Scalloped Potatoes are thick and intensely cheesy, elevated with a sharp attention to detail, including added onion, parsley, and chives to boost the flavor complexity. For a sweet counterpoint, the Corn Bread Pudding truly should be considered a dessert--sweet and decadent, topped with a gorgeous glaze. To top it all off, the Tallow Honey Butter Rolls offered a nostalgic touch, tasting sweet, warm, and homemade, reminiscent of a "made by Grandma" recipe. Verdict This establishment is extremely deserving of its number four position on the Texas Monthly list. From the friendly, generous staff (thank you for the free beer!) to the meticulous preparation of every item, all the food was elevated to perfection, resulting in a genuine culinary delight. When you leave without a single leftover, you know you have experienced something truly exceptional.

Great Bbq One of the best bbq joints in the state. It has some similarities to Goldie's bbq which is my favorite. The lean brisket was very moist and the ribs were also excellent. The sides were great as well. I had the red beans and rice, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. I also had the corn bread with their butter.

So being from Texas I am a fan of trying BBQ from different locations even if it's out of state. Well fortunately for me this wonderful place is located right here in Texas. So let me start off by saying they open at 11am W-Sat. If you show up after 11 be prepared to stand in line to get into this restaurant. When they sell out they are done!! The restaurant definitely has a small town feel but the food is definitely larger than the location. The staff is very helpful with the different options you can choose from. The slice beef and chopped beef sandwiches are definitely big enough to share if you get full easy or decide you want a side. I ordered the slice beef sandwich and half pound of ribs. The sandwich as I already stated was more than enough but I definitely am not disappointed that I ordered the ribs. The ribs fell off the bone and had a great glaze on them. I also ordered the cheesy potatoes as a side and they are definitely cheesy and delicious at that. You cannot go wrong eating here, well unless you forget to order the banana pudding like I did. Regardless if you are in the area please try it out. Don't forget about the homemade rolls and cinnamon butter as well.

Good BBQ. The prices are shown for 1/2lb portion so it can get expensive. Even the sides are on the high side for the sizes. Sharing might make it more helpful on the pocket book.

This place is ridiculously good. They make their own sausage and boudin. All sides and desserts are homemade as well as the rolls. Myself, husband and two kids ate this for lunch, then again at dinner and lunch the next day. It's alot of food. And excellent. Excellent service as well!!

The line proves how good this food is!

Amazing food, there's no other BBQ like it. Brisket burgers were 10/10 , Side orders were beyond excellent. The owner Amir really has made something special here, if you haven't visited yet.. You've got to!

Stood in line for around 30-40 minutes before ordering. I will say the line itself is short, the service is just a taddddd slow. Having another person or two will surely speed up the process. I ordered the meat sampler, which comes with 1/4 pound of all their meat selections which includes turkey, chopped and sliced brisket, pork rib, and sausage. I also got the banana pudding, rolls, potato salad, and cornbread salad. It was worth the wait. This might be the best barbecue I have ever eaten in my life. The brisket is so soft and melts in your mouth. Pair it with their bbq sauce, and everything else - it's truly perfect. Their meat sampler was a good starter for me, it allowed me to try a little bit of everything. I wish more bbq places had something similar. The sides were also really flavorful and out of this world. Will be visiting again if I lived closer.

Keeping it short & simple. Truly incredible. The best craft BBQ I've ever had. So glad to see this on Port Neches Ave., especially right next to Neches Brewery.

Smoked meats are satisfying with good flavor. Service is slow and definitely not worth the cost.

Off the chart good. Best BBQ I ever had . The sides are rich and could stand on their own as a main course.
