In the one hour I had with her I feel deeply relaxed, and she was able to apply the right pressure, and work on all of troublesome spots without me even directing her! She even massaged my head which was incredible and I've never had that done by a masseuse before. She worked a lot on my feet that have been aching from 12-14 hour days in heels. She used hot stones and warm towels. It was the whole nine yards. I really appreciate her services. I am fortunate she is covered by insurance, but would pay out of pocket because she is worth it. Already looking forward to my next massage.

My athletic son needed immediate attention for his shoulder on a Friday before a weekend tournament (we were looking for prolotherapy). When I spoke we and it didn't seem like I a fit for me, he Dr. Smitherman heard that, listened to me and talked me through it. He had me bring him in Saturday morning. But later in the Summer while traveling to Snoqualmie Falls in Washington state, and in conversation with guests who were from Tigard and had also had an odd experience at Joy massage: First my own, I visited May 2023 to treat myself for upcoming 70th birthday and during the course of my massage I asked my therapist where he trained? His answer was "he used to give his mom massages" which was strange"? He also mentioned his main job was construction and he was on call when they had overflow clients; and that he would soon be turning 67 years old! At the end of massage which was OK, he handed me a small sticky note with his personal cell and a call me anytime pronouncement? Weird, i am happily married for over 40 years which I made plain!. Tigard couple experience: in course of looking for the rest room, the wife opened a door that held a regular "sleeping or other" type of bed? How very odd? We mused as to what kind of "joy" they are selling here? Neither will ever know, as will never ever go back! Creepy!

It was 85 degrees outside, there was no AC in the room, she had the bed warmer on and a heavy blanket with just the window thrown open to all the lovely street noise. There was absolutely zero support for my belly or hips. I'm 6 months pregnant, this is a huge deal. I was obviously uncomfortable. The massage itself was horrible, and felt more like I was getting oil rubbed on me gently. I also don't know if she was sick, but the coughing and sniffing throughout the massage definitely had me even more tense. I was extremely let down by this whole experience, from start to finish, and would not recommend this place; at least to pregnant women. Will not be returning.
