I've been coming to Orchid Massage for...must be going on 15 years now, with all manner of muscular gripes and complaints, and each time I have walked out completely refreshed and rejuvenated. I have a favorite masseuse, who knows me on sight (despite my having lost a good 50lbs since the last time I saw him), and he is incredible: frightfully strong, competent hands, that somehow know what I'm suffering from, and how to fix it, without me uttering a word. Last night's visit was a little different. My wife has been suffering from a pinched nerve in her back for almost two weeks now, which has caused all manner of excruciating pain in her neck, shoulder blade, and radiating all down her right arm, to the point of bringing her to tears. Despite her incredibly high pain tolerance, she has declared, on more than one occasion, that she would "rather be in labor again" than have to deal with the agony any longer. It was time to call in the big guns. Fortunately, my long time masseuse was still there, and available. After sitting her down and explaining her situation, he went to work for 30 minutes, focusing on all of the locations mentioned. He seemed to intuitively know what to do, and at the end of it all, my wife sighed in relief...the first time in two weeks...at the almost total alleviation of her pain. Overnight, the pain did come back, but greatly reduced from before, along with a little expected soreness. Whereas before she was nearly paralyzed at times, she's able to move about, and function like a human being again. Issues like this rarely go away after a single treatment, but as several chiropractic and urgent care visits, as well as a cocktail of pain killers, haven't been able to mitigate her suffering at all, the fact that a single visit to Orchid Massage was enough to set her to rights is just about the best recommendation I could give for this place. We'll absolutely be back for a follow-up visit (or two) for her, and maybe I'll get around to addressing that knot in the back of my neck, as well. This place charges more than what you specified with them. Especially the female masseuse..she isn't honest. I specifically pointed to her the service I want but she will deliberately massage you lightly...and when you ask her to make it harder, at the end of the session she will charge a different rate pointing to the deep tissue. Communicating with them is terrible since they only speak their language. She gave me a rate that was high enough that you'd think she already included the tip. My partner regularly goes here and kept prodding me to get a massage here because he thought it would help my low back pain. We go to the mall often so I was pretty familiar with the staff since he goes there so much. That said, I want to say something before I go into this review. A lot of these reviewers should be ashamed of themselves. From the women mocking some of the massage therapists language barriers (trust me, they speak more languages than you do) to people who refuse to tip because "only rich people tip", of course they glared at you. For a massage, this place is inexpensive. If you can't afford to tip these people for their training and experience, don't go. So on to my experience. I have been twice on my own now. I went in and asked if I could get a table massage. I asked for 30 minutes but realized they generally do 20 or 40 from the sign, so I went for 40. Each time they have taken me to the back where it is less bright and had me remove my shoes and lie down on a table. The table was comfy and everyone kept their mask on and followed COVID protocols. They don't usually ask me what I'd like to do, they just start which is kind of nice because most of the time I don't really want to engage in small talk. They will ask if they are pressing too hard if I moan or wince, and the two different massage therapists had very different styles but each was enjoyable. (An older man broke up some oil and a hot towel on my back, which was heaven, and a younger fella did not but was more specific in working on small sections rather than broader areas. Most times when we are done I feel a little dizzy almost standing up and feel lighter, which I like. I will definitely be back. It's a shame how rude some people are to the staff here. But I promise you, stop in. They are very to the point and professional, the price is inexpensive, and you don't need an appointment. read more

I requested a female massage therapist for a 90 minute "table" massage. I experienced a language barrier which made the experience a awkward. This massage was awful. Twice I had to ask for a firmer massage. It never got better. The massage therapist was simply rubbing my back in the same pattern over and over. It was annoying. Very little actual massage. I asked her to move off my back after 40 minutes. She never actually did a massage. I finally stopped the massage before 60 minutes elapsed because her "rubbing" was unbearable. As I paid, she actually asked for a tip. I am usually a generous tipper, but this massage was terrible. She should have been embarrassed that I ended the massage before completing an hour, when I wanted 90 minutes, and I had to continuously ask for a better massage while I was on the table. 2stars just because they accommodated a walk-in and the prices are fair (if in fact you got a professional massage). read more

I prefer this place over any other because not only do I not have to make an appointment, they also don't make small talk, and they are very quiet. I have anxiety and find it hard to hold conversations with people, so this helps a TON and allows me to actually relax. I've mostly just gotten the chair massages, but plan to go back and try more. I have to admit that it can be painful at times, as they go very hard. The 30 min massage was okay, the guy was determined to chase out any knots in my shoulders like a bad spirit and had only one style, get the massage over before he broke the chair with his pressure. Got through with that and what was the deal breaker was going up to pay and getting charged an extra $5 for deep tissue when I wasn't asked at the beginning or during the massage for the so called extra pressure. I regularly get foot massages there. And I love them. Only a few complaints. 1. I chose a 30min massage and they never do it longer than 25min 2. They give u a mean look if u dont tip them. I honestly dont have money for tips and I am not supposed to give them out anyway. Tip givers r people who have extra money. Things i love: 1. The person doing the massage doesnt talk to me! The first time I went, it was good. Good enough that I went back a few weeks later. Never again. The masseuse was using one hand to type on his phone. I am leery of any foot massage that involves a tub of water and I don't care how clean you claim it is. Orchid Massage skips this part entirely and I am grateful for that. They start by quickly cleaning off your feet and go right into a thorough massage of your feet and legs with massage oil. The chairs are big, soft and cozy and you will have to fight the urge to nap. They finish by grabbing a hot towel from the warmer and get back to work on your feet and legs. The oil is washed away with the towel and you are good to go. So I visited there again for my birthday, and wow I was NOT disappointed! This time I went for the full deal, a thirty minute chair massage followed by a thirty minute foot massage. The chair massage had me lost in the bliss almost straight away; the therapist even focused on my right shoulder(which has been especially sore) even though I didn't say anything about how tense it was! I will admit that a few of the presses were a little bit rough (even a bit painful) at times, but the end results left me super buttery. The foot massage started with a short foot bath in warm water, which I wasn't expecting. The heat was perfect, and the length my feet spent in them was just enough to soothe them into being ready for the detail work on my feet. Being much longer than the first one I was a little surprised that it was a lot more gentle than the first foot massage I received, but then he had a lot more time to really work everything individually. I just received a 60 minute foot massage and could not wait to get to my computer to rate them. Wow! I had a lot of walking this weekend in 4 inch heels and my feet were killing me. Especially my arches. I know the benefits of reflexology from my travels to China/Asian region and usually get them when I land to help the swelling in my legs/feet diminish (so I can fit into my high heels again). Anyway, I saw this Orchid Massage each time I entered the mall to go to Cinatopia but never tried it out until today. I work in the area so this is a fantastic find for me. 1/2 hour on each foot/leg and he gladly worked on my shins and calfs to target the pain coming from my heels and then worked on my arches! I had goosebumps. The therapist I had was named Chris. He was focused, had a lot of pressure but laid off in areas I asked due to tenderness. When I entered, I was the only one in the chairs for a massage but by the time I left, the place was full and people were getting chair massages, regular massages in the two rooms in the back, and two more getting foot massages. The massage was great. I'm giving 3 stars for the hygiene. I could not enjoy my table massage because of the masseuse or perhaps the blanket they placed over me smelled like week old gym clothes and corn chips. Each time he was near my head the smell was overwhelming. Unfortunately it enabled me to relax. This is my 3rd time at this location and I have never had any issues or complaints.
