Red Studios.. what an amazing facility! I've been here several times to see shows being filmed, and they have a fantastic venue! Clean, well organized.. I'm not sure if all of the staff that we encountered were direct employees of RSH or Disney/American Idol employees, but they're well organized and their coordinated efforts make for a great experience for those attending a show! read more

Red studios did an amazing job of hosting about 600-700 people for an exclusive Amazon music live event with Lil Baby. The space is gorgeous and spacious. The stage is the best part, it's got brutalist architecture and concrete everywhere, with a high stage and vaulted ceilings. The lighting, smoke machines and decorations were incredible. The sound quality was amazing. It's located by Netflix studios and off sunset. Street parking is doable but be careful. I loved this studio, it's deceptively large, can't recommend enough. 03/09/2018 Hoobastank show for DirecTV music special. Thanks to the Queen of concerts for letting me know. It was a waiting game outside. Wasn't as entertaining when you wait on Hollywood Blvd but entertaining nonetheless. Watching black vehicles drive by or stop makes you wonder is that someone here for the show or the band members? Once we clear security, we get escorted in to the studio as a big group. Since it's for TV, they will switch you around if you're the tallest guy blocking the camera view. There are some nice people as Vienna met a new friend who is short. She got to be at the stage. Vienna gets lucky leaving with the set list. Too bad the band didn't stick around taking pictures or signing autographs. At least I got to watch them perform my favorite songs. Thanks Vienna for inviting me. read more

We saw two (2) live tapings for season 9 of The Masked Singer in Stage 1 (episode 4, and the finale)... The studio really has things down to a science from the audience parking 6+ blocks away, the charter buses which whisk you to the studio, the staff who line you up in sections, the drink and snack staff, portable restrooms; and finally, the systematic way they load everyone up to 600 audience guests into and out of the studio. Everyone's upbeat, positive, energized, and fun! For episode 4, we had to do on-site rapid COVID tests but for the finale, just just signed a health waiver swearing we weren't sick or ill. Stand up comedian Gary Cannon was the audience warm up person for both live shows we went to and he was hella funny, motivated, and made all the boring times between going live on-camera enjoyable and made time go by as fast as it could. There's a lot of dead time, but Gary made the time pass so it wasn't too bad, but rather interesting and fun. Be prepared to stand. 90% of the audience is in one of four mosh pits placed around the stage. Only 10% of the audience is seated behind those who are standing. All in all, the entertainment level is on fire! The lights, sound, lasers, smoke, etc. is second to none. The climate inside the studio was comfortable (not too hot or cold). And there's plenty of audience participation, show swag handouts given away, and it's a pretty good time, both for first timers as well as those who have attended before. Be prepared to surrender your cellphones, and walk through a metal detector! You'll surrender your phones before entering the studio and get them back after the show. They don't want anyone taking pictures or videos of the set, and more importantly, the results of the show. It's a fun time, we'd go again if given the chance. We don't know if any other shows call Red Studios Hollywood their home. read more

(Attended 09/13/16 TU @ 7:00pm): Odd...there was nothing "red" about these studios! I scored a pair of tickets to a mini-concert performance of one of my favorite new bands, the up-and-coming raucous glam-rock 4-piece British band The Struts at Red Studios Hollywood. I'd already seen them twice before, but dammit they knew how to put on a show with enough bravado and energy to light up a tiny town! As my first time here, would the good times roll!?: Ticket/Seats (FREE) - Through special events ticketing website www.1iota.com, it was easy as 1-2-3...and it was all FREE! There were no actual seats for this event; rather, it was one big mosh pit - without the moshing - so we all stood the entire time and "danced our legs down to our knees". Concessions (n/a) - None were allowed inside, so if you had anything to snack on, you had to grub on it outside. However, cups of water were provided before you entered the studio. Souvenirs (n/a) - A missed marketing opportunity, in my opinion. But if you were a true fan, you already had whatever they would've offered! The Concert - Taped for a music series to be shown on DirecTV at a later date, the session lasted for about one hour, and each song was a "wave your hands in the air, sing-along, and clamp-you-hands" kind of anthem. Sadly, my "Priority Pass" didn't mean shit, and we were finally allowed into the studio nearly 30 minutes than expected. Once inside, the crew assembled us, and we were soon ready to rock out! Parking (FREE this instance; Varied) - Thankfully, the event promoter validated our parking at a nearby structure. Otherwise, there were plenty of metered (8am-6pm) street parking along the main drag of Cahuenga Blvd. and surrounding side streets. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - We were led into your typical sound/studio stage (I imagined there were multiple rooms) surrounded by exposed brick walls, a high ceiling that allowed for scaffolding from which bright lights hung and spotlights aimed from, and a maze of other expensive equipment you dared not to touch because evil eyes and scrutiny where then casted your way. I took that as "rockin' business casual" for this particular occasion, so a button-up shirt, jeans, and Doc Martens for me. Sorry, the t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops stayed in the closet. Overall, I would return to Red Studios Hollywood for any future events. I had no issues with the facility, the parking situation seemed manageable, and there were other businesses within the area if you wanted to grab a bite or drink. I'm simply surprised I'd never been nor heard of this place until now! If you're in the industry and need a space, give this place a try. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was $0.00 - heck yeah!). Yelp Challenge 2018. 20/100. (I'm trying like Private Ryan.) This place has quite a history well beyond the times I've had the pleasure to ply my trade here over the years. It's been around since 1915. Not so much with the Uber or Lyft back in the day. Trolly much? It was called Desilu studios for a bit. For all you youngsters, that was the 1st female production headed by Lucille Ball. Which produced Star Trek. Hogan's Heroes, Sienfeld and Ally McBeal also took turns here as well. Most of the stuff I've had the pleasure to work on here I've signed NDA's on. In it's current rendition, it was acquired by the founder of Oakley. Cell service is oddly weird but every employee I've met is genuinely fantastic. read more

Small studio with street parking (watch the signs regarding the parking limits). My husband and I came to this studio 2 weeks ago (January 17 and 18) for the TV taping of Masters of Illusion (shown on the CW in the summer). We have never been to this studio before but it was easy to find. If you do not want to park on the street, there is a parking structure a few blocks away (pay by the hour). For the TV taping, there were already black chairs set up for audience members to sit in. Lighting and sound was just fine. The stage was utilized for the taping. There was also taping down below where the audience members were sitting. I greatly appreciated that there was a separate woman and man restroom to use, but seems that there is only these restrooms in the entire studio (none are upstairs). Although I cannot comment on the studio being used through a production team side, I can say that everything seemed adequate from an audience member perspective. I do want to mention that during our taping, one magician was attached to a rail and flew down from one part of the room to the stage (pretty cool). So in case your next production team is looking for something with this capability, this studio can do it. read more

I've been here multiple times for Audience Music events and love it!! (Esp. when I'm super close to the stage!) All the fans got on stage for "Black Beatles" by Rae Stremmurd and it DID NOT BREAK!! I could feel part of it caving in, but it was able to withstand all of our fat bottoms!!! Small intimate space with small restrooms. AC works great, sound is good, place is secure, love the decor, limited parking only for staff/special people, street parking down the street for everyone else. Pay attention to the signs of course. There is a parking lot adjacent to the studios and they will validate for AM events, not sure about any other times. Rock on! Can't wait for more shows! read more

Red is alright. It has very small stages, none which are marked with visible stage numbers... Sigh. EVERYTHING is grey. The stages don't seem to be sound proof because our PA's are outside shh-ing people who walk by. Nice, efficient security staff. Very nice manicured grass.. but it's probably fake, like everything else in Hollywood. read more

Absolutely gorgeous facilities and really lovely staff. I don't know what some of the other reviewers are providing a low rating for, when their biggest complaint is whether or not the grass is fake. If you're looking for a killer sound stage, check it out. They're definitely up to par. read more

I just parked in front of here and walked over to another venue. This was close, I could park on the street (plenty of places Thursday night) I know the guard at the front gate isn't there watching the parked cars, but it helped me walk away feeling like some kind of theft deterrent was present while I left my baby on the street. read more

I came here with my friend on Monday because we had tickets for Winsanity. We were very excited to be here however, we did not have priority tickets. We arrived early and stood in line along with the other non-profit ticket holders. There were at least 30 of us in line. Even though the tickets specifically said arrive "on time"....the studio staff still accepted priority ticket holders after the designated time and all the way up until they had passed out almost all there 100 stickers for seating. Half the people wore jeans, black clothing and other attire that violated dress code. If they were to be dismissed for that we would have had a chance but they were not. Only 1 couple was given stickers to attend the show while the rest of us in line got dismissed. I am extremely upset because there was way too many of us non-priority ticket holders that had absolutely no chance in getting inside the studio. Why would they pass out so many of those invalid tickets? Do you know that we took off work for this, woke up at 3 am, drove hours just to be dismissed?!!! The studio staff offered us tickets to come back which most of us left thinking this was joke to begin with. We all were talking to each other discussing how far we drove from and how they broke every one of their own rules. I DO NOT recommend coming to this game show Winsanity!!! I recently was on The Price is Right and they took at least 17 of us non-priority ticket holders. You have a better chance there than here. Good luck if you decide to go.
