ROCK & ROLL PHOTOS Located on Sunset Blvd., this cool photography gallery showcases shots of some of my favorite musicians. When I heard they had a show focusing on Madonna, I had to see it! I still have her albums - Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue - and some cassettes: Like a Prayer, The Immaculate Collection - so these pictures from the 80s brought back memories. Plus, it was fun to see photos of David Bowie, The Stones, and Dylan. Keith Richards standing next to a sign in customs that says "Patience Please... A Drug Free America Comes First!" is hilarious. If you're a music head, this gallery is for you! read more

It was a pleasure talking to them about the prints and ultimately, taking one home with me. If you're looking for amazing music prints, this is your spot! read more

Awesome selection of music photography and art. Rock n roll, rap, hip hop. Impressive gallery. If you've never been, I highly recommend.

What am amazing find. Great photos from the world's great!!!! From David Bowie, James Brown to my personal favorite PRINCE. Sam is just wonderful and if you are in the area you have to stop by end enjoy the gallery's monthly jazz mixers. So happy I found this little GEM. read more

Tacky, tacky, tacky. This frameshop-gallery in the down in the mouth portion of the Sunset Strip inundates you to death with spammy emails inviting to you to their openings. I went to one. Although I RSVPed, the door boy refused to let me in claiming "I was not on the list." He also refused to let one of the artists in the show in claiming the same thing. We asked for the owner who let me and the artist in, only to find a very sparsely populated event with the kind of people you would not ordinarily want to socialize with. Its an old, tacky promoters trick to build a line outside a venue to make it look more popular than it is. No thanks, I like to get paid for my time. Much of the artwork is available from other sources. I would not waste my time. Thanks read more

This place is s gem. If you love music, you will love all the amazing photographs of all the artist. I personally went to see The Pre-Fame Prince Exhibit by Robert Whitman, but there was more to see. From gorgeous Bowie photos, to James Brown, and Queen B. There is different price ranges, different sizes, you just have to look around. They also do custom framing if you want. Sam the owner is so sweet and helpful. I bought my first art piece! I enjoyed my time here, it was very relaxing. read more

OMG! What a precious find. A friend accidentally stumbled upon their current Bowie exhibit. I went quickly today on the final day to check it out. I went to see the Mick Rock exhibit twice at Taschen, but I mus tell you, I actually like Markus Klinko's photos more. Nice space, plenty of great rock photos. If you're into rock 'n' roll as much as I am, this place is HEAVEN. Unfortunately, signed copies are super expensive, but they are rare, so I suppose you have to pay for it. However, there are a lot of smaller, unsigned prints are available at affordable prices. Lots of other photos, posters and art. I have not been to an opening yet, so I don't know how the staff is at openings, but the lady that was there today was very nice and helpful. I can't wait to meet Sam in person. Having worked with a lot of the artists (including Bowie) exhibited there, it's a thrill just to be there and I'm sure Sam has great stories to tell as well. I wish I could afford some of the prints, but time will come. :-) read more

I attended a party on Saturday August 13 2016 at this gallery celebrating the photographs taken by Baron Wolman the first photographer of Rolling Stone magazine. He also was selling copies of three of his hardcover books that he would autograph for you. There was live entertainment and complimentary food and drink for everyone. A good time was had by all. I highly recommend visiting this gallery if you live or are visiting the Los Angeles area. There are beautiful original photographs and books for purchase all related to the music industry. It is easy to locate on Sunset Blvd it is directly across the street from the Guitar Center. There also is valet parking in the back for special event parties. read more

I just attended a Just Jazz show last night and it was wonderful. This is every Wednesday night at this gallery. It is an incredible opportunity to see great jazz. I an not much of a jazz fan, however, after seeing a few of this shows, my conversion is taking place. I say find time in your schedules for 7:30pm and come an see these shows. The art in the gallery makes it all the wonderful of an experience and a Hollywood experience. read more

Awesome. Iconic photography, knowledgeable staff, clean and quiet space. Thank you Mr. Musichead for your passion for music and for creating this treasure trove of images of amazing artists. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time (way longer than we intended) at this gallery. read more

I really enjoyed the space. The atmosphere was very nice, and the music was very good. The only problem was the chairs; they are so uncomfortable! I wanted to give 5-stars, but will only give 4 because of the horrible chairs! read more

Sam is a legend. He carries a vast amount of rare and iconic prints from all eras. Also, his frame shop is incredible - Todd and Igor get the job done perfectly every time. One of a kind. read more

So amazed at all the rock history in this awesome space! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the lovely gallery director Ellice and owner Sam (from old school Detroit!). Just amazed at all the rare, intimate portraits of Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Patti Smith, Basquiat, Blondie, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Green Day, Nirvana, old school Guns n' Roses. They have a personal relationship with all the artists and photographers they represent, so you can order an original photographic print of any musician from virtually anywhere. Their framing studio next door is also top-notch. I brought in some old autographed posters and Sam did a perfect job matting and building the beautiful frame. read more

This is my new go to spot for custom framing! I had a really unique idea for a wedding gift that I needed framed. After stopping in to a few other framing shops, I settled on Mr. Musichead because Sam understood my vision. He is a true artist, trust him!! I told him in a general way how I wanted the pictures floating and double matted and left the rest up to his creative eye. He was able to expedite the project and have it done in a few days (WAY quicker than any other framing store). The final matting job was better than I had envisioned!!! Pricing is comparable to other framing stores; the benefit to taking your work here is that you have a passionate artist working on your project. Plus, it's an awesome gallery to visit if you have some time! He's got some pretty legendary artwork up for any music aficionado's out there. If not getting framing done, at least stop in to see his work! read more

Frames are the best quality at much lower prices. I wish I'd found Sam before this Christmas. Thanks for saving me money!

This is the best collection of great rock-n-roll photography is any gallery I have ever been in. It's top shelf in every aspect! Go. Enjoy! Wallow amongst great art. The music system, rocks. Mr. Musichead, Sam, himself, is a joy to be around and chat with. read more
