When I did a walk through of Nvisioante a few months ago it looked fine, and two friends had shot there and recommended it, so it seemed like a good choice. Wow, was I wrong. Fast forward a few months to our tech scout. Venus has been less than responsive to our producer, making book the space weirdly difficult. We were like, do they not want our money? Sometimes more than a week would pass before we'd hear back. Odd, but ok. We finally manage to book the space. We do our tech scout, and it looks nothing like it did when we initially toured. We're planning to shoot in the bar. There's a massive hole in the wall. Like, the size of a human body, as if someone had body slammed the wall and no one bothered to fix it. The tarp-like fabric that covers the ceiling was falling in multiple spots. There was a lot of dust and dirt. Not great. But a crew was leaving just as we walked in, so we figured they must have trashed it, and surely it'd be back to normal in time for our shoot the following weekend. Oh how wrong we were. We'd booked the space for a four hour pre-light the night before our shoot day. Instead of being able to pre light and set dress like we'd planned, we were forced to spend the time trying (unsuccessfully) to deep clean the disgusting space. Dust and debris were falling from the ceiling. There was a fridge and wall of shelving full of moldy bottles, open, half full of various mystery liquids. I'm talking about mold that looked like kombucha starters. The kind of mold that would take weeks or months to grow. The human sized hole was still in the wall (and, annoyingly, in our planned shots). We discovered that in some places the walls were patched with styrofoam. So much dust. Plus the bathroom was filthy and there was no hot water anywhere in the building. Our crew worked in masks, but most of us still got sick. And throughout this whole ordeal the Nvisionate staff were hovering and micromanaging, making sure we didn't use nails in the walls or move furniture the wrong way. When we brought up the serious mold problem to a staff member his response was, "oh yeah, we know." !!!???!!!!! Disgusting.  It's been about a week and a half since the shoot and I've heard from about two thirds of our cast and crew saying they've been sick. Cast and crew safety is my number one priority, and I feel just awful knowing that I put them in a dangerous situation. I've been fighting a gnarly respiratory infection too.  tldr; mold, negligent rude staff that'll micromanage you but not respond to your emails, no hot water, dust that'll make you sick. Avoid this place like the plague unless you want to catch the plague.

I couldn't be more pleased with the location, staff, -especially staff!!!-and our shoot day at NVisionate studios. Everything leading up to the actual day was timely, communicative, and easy. No fuss. A place where truly independent filmmakers can afford to make their movies with the help of a great studio! Set looked perfect for our hospital scene and their on set costumes/g&e helped greatly. Thank you Venus, Nick and Willa!

I have shot a few videos here and it's a great place to shoot. It has about 10 different sets (restaurant, hospital bed, jail, court, living room , a few bedrooms, office, interrogation room). They also can repaint the walls in this huge white wall area for either green screen or whatever you want. It's a great place come prepared and know what you want to shoot! I believe they rent it out in 4 hour blocks and always sanitize the place after each booking. Enjoy !!

As for the venue, the Sunday performances require masks and when a customer in front of me inquired about it the staff member indicated that they offer Sundays for those customers who want to wear masks. Doesn't make sense to me because if a customer wants to wear a mask during any performance in this venue they should be able to. Upon that said, there were a few customers not wearing any masks (again, makes no sense). The other con is they offer refreshments for sale at reasonable prices; however, you cannot take them into the theatre. I have only been to one other theatre that did not allow food nor drinks so you have to arrive early if you want refreshments or you can purchase during the intermission but have to hurry to finish up. Although staff was friendly and informative, the venue was cramped although plenty of seating is available. I doubt I will patronize this theatre again unless it was a "to die for" performance showing.

I decided to use my refund and scrambled to find a new event to do for the evening. Through my Fever app I found Avenue Q and was so excited! My son has been wanting to see this forever and I knew it was going to be fun, but had no idea it was going to be one of the best shows I've seen. Driving up, I was skeptical of the center, but once we walked in we were greeted to a beautiful lobby and kind hosts. The show itself was one of the most funny and entertaining experiences I've had in a while! These performers were beyond incredible! Thank you everyone who made my sons night special again :)

We happened to catch their rendition of Avenue Q in January 2022 when we were on our honeymoon. We were blown away by the show and the talent available at such a small theater. And my wife ended up following many of those fine folks on Instagram. So when the two of us + my sister were planning a January 2026 trip to LA and noticed Avenue Q would be back for a limited time at Wisteria, we jumped at the opportunity to sort of relive that and help my sister get a similar experience. I'm happy to say that expectations were (mostly) met. Wisteria isn't much bigger than Cupcake was, maybe like 100 seats, so every seat in the house is close to the stage/actors. There were moments in the show where the cast directly interacted with me, even though I wasn't in the first row, so that was pretty cool. And an opportunity you can't get at bigger venues (for that price at least). The cast was about 50% who we had seen before, and the talent is still top notch. Everyone sounded amazing, easily matching or besting musical theater troupes we'd seen tour our home city. And everyone was well cast and suited for their roles. The costuming and puppets all seemed really good to me. Some of the puppets look quite different from what I remember experiencing before, but they all seemed to fit the characters regardless. The lighting was all well chosen and timed. And the sound mixing was mostly great, although sometimes it felt like the music overpowered the vocals a little. The backgrounds were more of a mixed bag. It's extremely obvious that AI was used to generate the backgrounds shown on the big screen. I get that Wisteria is a tiny operation running on an even smaller budget. But to be honest, the AI really left a bad taste in our mouths. My sister said she could hardly focus on the show because of how distracting the AI usage was. There were too many instances of jumbled/nonsense signs or things that were uncanny and unnatural. There couldn't have been a much bigger budget back in the Cupcake Theater days, and I don't remember a need for all the AI backgrounds/video back then (for the same show). We would honestly rather have cheesy stock photos or bad Photoshop than AI that seems to strip away the humanity that is otherwise so resonant at this lovely theater. One last small note as someone who loves the Avenue Q soundtrack: It was personally disappointing for me to hear Shadenfraude get trimmed down. The entire verse starting with "straight A students getting B's" was cut and there's instead an awkward cut where it was. Was this a Wisteria decision or something done by the original creators? I don't really understand what happened there. Again, we love your crew and the show was overall fantastic. We were so happy to take time in our trip to support a small, local theater. Keep up the great work and everyone, please give these guys a look if you love live theater!

This acting thing is tough (and rough)... Especially if you're new to the industry and starting out as a newbie. So much to figure out - classes, getting representation - the who and the hows, how to market yourself - the what and the where... and then what happens when you get an audition, or callback?! I've learned so much from Brian and the team at BCAS. Brian has had a long and successful acting career. He's figured it out and is passing on his wisdom. Lucky us - the BCAS team lays it all out there. I remember visiting (auditing) different acting schools as I tried to find THE ONE. BCAS was the third studio I visited. Being someone who has major social anxiety, it took a lot for me to put myself out there - but when I walked in, I immediately felt as if I found my acting home, my "family". Brian, John, and Jill knew each student by name. They even knew who I was when I walked in on Day 1. I was impressed. Observing the format of the class, how Brian led and shared raw notes throughout the session, his humor and/but also seriousness with his art, how the group was focused, supportive and positive, and the professional equipment and recording set up, I signed up for my first cycle that evening. I was done auditing any other class/schools. I'm still at the beginning stage of my career in acting, but I know with the Brian's guidance, the different courses/services that the studio offers (accelerated program, assistance on eligibility to become Sag-E, etc.,) my career will move forward. No doubt. As a note: BCAS won't do the work for you. They'll be there as a tool and resource for you to succeed. But YOU have to put in the work. So there's that. Get to work. As I tell my kids, "If I'm not having a blast, I'm not doing it." Good Luck friends!
