On Wednesday 7/6/16 my friends and I purchased our dinner from Red Shark. As we were eating a live roach (yes I said a live roach) came from under the food. I took a picture and called the red shark. This is day 2 and management has refused to address the issue. I have contacted Environmental Services with the Health Department as well as WRDW's 12 on your side. Roach es are a health hazard. So please be careful. From my experience the red shark's management does not seem to be interested in resolving this issue. If you look closely on the upper left side of the picture you can see the little creature and its legs sticking . I have been physically sick ever since. This new location offers everything that the last one did. I just hate that they moved so far away from my house. I'm never in this area but it's also very convenient that this new spot is 24 hours. I crave wings, fried food and fries always late night!!! The food is still the same. The employees are really friendly and makes the food quickly. You don't have to wait a long time to receive your food. I don't have any negative things to say about this place. The food and service are always the same. I've dined here about 5 or 6 times before. I'm allergic to shellfish, yet my family isn't - when my mother goes out she loves this place, but I hate it because even when I order non-seafood I have allergic reactions. I know for a fact they cook their food in shellfish grease because of the numerous reactions I have. I'm giving a low rating because of the fact that I enjoy not almost dying from allergic reactions due to negligence of the restaurant chefs. I don't know much about the rest of the menu or the taste of their shellfish, but when I order fish, okra and fries without seafood I want it that way. read more

This place is amazing, hands down. The customer service is exceptional and the staff members are friendly and understanding. Your food is always nice and hot. The food itself is delicious and affordable for the amount of food that is given. Every last drop is worth it. I am hooked onto red shark is like crack and I have been trying all their menu items. I have yet to be let down. A lot of people may be a little hesitant to go try red shark because of the location but I will say hole-in-the-wall restaurants are always the best haha. Mister and I went with a friend on a rainy Sunday. I'm always looking for a decent fried fish joint. Red Shark is located in a dank little building across from the Kmart plaza on Gordon Hwy. I believe it used to be a Chinese restaurant. I'm sure of it actually. There is still some remnants of the oriental decor inside. Hubby and I ordered the 20 piece shrimp dinner and my friend ordered a fish dinner. The food was well seasoned, fresh and hot as expected. They even warn you that this is not fast food so everything is cooked to order. Apparently, the cole slaw was worth the honorable mention as both hubby and friend expressed how great it was. I'm not a fan of cole slaw so I gave mine to Mister. He had leftovers for the next day and he still raved about the cole slaw. I wouldn't be the French fry queen without mentioning their fries. They were good; especially fresh and hot. My only complaint, and Red Shark isn't the only guilty party, is that most restaurants underestimate the need for malt vinegar! There's nothing like hot fries and malt vinegar! Overall, we liked it and we'll be back. The decor needs some work but the place was clean and the food fresh. Soooo Red Shark is the go to during late night work shifts. I typically get the chicken wings and fries but here's the catch. They have a dry rub on there that will literally make you fall in love. It can easily be described as a diamond in the rough. It may not look appealing but your in the south and if you don't eat fried foods move somewhere else. This is a horrible place to dine. There is always an excessive wait of 20 minutes or more. I've tried dining there as well as doing a few deliveries. I've seen roaches on several occasions The small German cock roaches meaning that there is an infestation. The owner is beyond rude. After about 20 minutes of waiting I asked, how much longer do you think it will be his response was " It ready when ready do not rush me. You get it when done." Idk about you but most professional places just give you a time but not this place don't dare ask for a wait time they are incredibly unprofessional. The cooks aren't much better yelling out profanity and disrespecting customers as they walk through the door. They don't look like much and they don't have much going for them. Poor customer service, quality of food, and horrible sanitation conditions. I've had their food before, and it was pretty good, but the terrible service today is the reason for the poor review. At 5:30, we put in a takeout order for 6:00 through GrubHub. We got there a little before 6:00 and were ready to wait a reasonable amount of time. GrubHub's site said it should be ready by 6:20. In the thirty or so minutes we were there, drive-thru was at a standstill. At about 6:20, my husband asked the car behind us to back up so we could exit the drive-thru (they essentially had us hostage) and went inside to ask how long the food would be. They told my husband they had no idea and weren't comfortable giving a time estimate. My husband came out and came back in to ask for a refund, because we were in a hurry. Without speaking, the person at the front simply pointed to a sign that said "no refunds." Thankfully, since we ordered through GrubHub, we were able to get our refund that way, anyways. :) However, when we called GrubHub to cancel the order, they said that Red Shark was saying it would take 20 minutes. Now that another company is calling you, you suddenly feel comfortable letting us know how long our food would take? Honestly the only place around Fort Gordon I will go to for wings. We always get the full Wings with Chicago seasoning and they are amazing! There were a few times they went a little light on the seasoning but all in all still worth the money! Amazing no place in Augusta is making fish like this. It's absolutely perfect melt in your mouth fish fillets. And the crab cakes are perfect!!! Some places on this side of town are dingy but it's clean and you can tell they keep the oil changed in the fryers which is soooo important. Seriously so good. Don't let the sketchy looking area deter you from this fried goodness. My husband and I shared the platter with shrimp, oysters and catfish. Loved all of it. The only other place I've been able to try fried oysters here is Rhinehart's which I found rather pricey for the kind of restaurant it is and the service they gave. For the price, you get a lot of food. I tried the gizzards and the wings. The portion was amazing. For this to be attached to a gas station, it was much cleaner than I imagined it would be. I didn't get much interaction from the staff, probably because it is a fast food. My wait time was short and my order was accurate. I may go back and try other items on the meny. There isn't a lot of seasoning done in the prepping of the food, but the Chicago shake seasoning they add at the end is more than adequate! Yum! read more
