RRG Cabin Rentals were extremely unhelpful to us. We were never able to make it to our cabin because it required 4 wheel drive and that information wasn't included on our check in email. When we called to cancel our reservation they were unwilling to refund us- even a percentage of our reservation fee- even though we never entered the property. The office called us twice to provide us information about firewood and directions but didn't mention anything about the 4 wheel drive. Also, the neighbors of the property tried to help us and said the RRG Cabin Rentals have been very rude to the residents that live near their rentals. They said RRGCR are not collaborative with the locals and when the locals try to reach out to work together with RRGCR they disregard the locals concerns. I highly recommend not using Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals. Incredibly rude and unhelpful. read more

I stayed at the Hidden Mountain cabin. Positives: -Beautiful spacious cabin!!! Simply gorgeous inside and out. -Amazing view! -Quiet and peaceful! -Has a King size bed upstairs and twin bed downstairs. 2 full baths. Nice living room furniture. Ninja coffee maker with built in filter (so you do NOT need to bring your own filters). :) -Bed was very comfortable! -Had cell phone reception for Verizon and AT&T. -Dish Network. Negatives: -Very dusty throughout (ceiling fans, floor boards, pictures, etc) -The valve for the bubbles on the hot tub was missing so the tub made a loud noise when running. -Only 1 regular eating spoon in kitchen drawer. -You only get one towel, washcloth, and hand towel per person. -The bed pillows were pitiful lol. They were so tiny and barely had any stuffing or support in them. I WOULD come back to this same cabin with the following tips: -Bring a towel for the hot tub, a towel for your hair, and an extra wash cloth -Bring a blanket for the bed if you run on the chilly side (none provided...just sheet and thin comforter) -If you are staying for more than 3 nights, bring your own bar soap for the shower (the bar given is small and thin...I ended up using liquid hand soap on my last day there). -Bring some plastic eating utensils -Bring your own bed pillows -No wifi to connect to, so if you want to run Netflix, you will have to connect the TV to your phone's hot spot (bring your passwords!) -You need an SUV or truck to get up to the cabin because it is so steep. We rented the Aviary cabin. The cabin was in a good location and in nice shape. Make sure you BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS as they will only give you two bath towels and one hand towel to share!! We called to ask for extras, but they were ridiculously strict with thier towel exchange policy. It was very frustrating. The place has no washer and dryer to even wash your towels. They did eventually exchange the towels, but that whole towel exchange process was comical. Hot tub is nice. No towels. Bedding was ok. The kitchen is nice, but not well stocked. I gave them three stars, but if you would have known these things ahead of time it would have been more pleasant. read more

Rented Sunset canyon cabin - the name of the cabin lived up to its word providing 2 nights worth of spectacular sunsets overlooking the Daniel Boone forest ! The cabin was cute very log cabin decor , nice air condition, kitchen fully stocked with cooking utensils . It has a spiral staircase with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Very clean ! The hot tub on the deck is very nice ! Really enjoyed our stay was very peaceful and quiet with a lot of privacy which was exactly what we were looking for . The couch in the living room could use replacing no support when you sit in it - sinks in. ZERO STARS! This place is disgusting. I've never stayed in a place where it looks like they just put new linens in an dirty cabin and left it as is. Floors weren't swept, kitchen drawers disorganized with mouse droppings in them, trash under the kitchen sink, windows streaked with handprints, showers with soap scum in the tub, bases of the toilet covered with urine, the oven looks like something exploded and burnt in it. We visited Red River Gorge in September of 2022 and stayed in the Cliffside yurt. The booking was easy as well as the instructions for accessing the yurt. It had a full kitchen, bathroom and hot tub! The yurt is back away from the street so it's quiet and private. There wasn't a view from the balcony/patio like we expected, though. It would be helpful if they cut down some of the branches in order to see put into the distance/the pretty view. The only other thing I would recommend is for the company to do updates to the hot tub. There was visible wear and tear but nothing that stopped me from enjoying it! read more

Update: our stay in Hikers Retreat was great. The cabin was clean and the hot tub was functioning (two of our biggest hopes). The road to get there is very, very bad though, full of huge potholes. Wouldn't recommend in a small car but there were cars of all sizes getting back there. The traffic is extremely light, like 5 cars all weekend. Bed was comfy, fire pit was nice, had all amenities like coffee pot, silverware, etc but no shampoo/conditioner like I thought so plan ahead! Would stay here again! We were directed here by our own mistake and ended up booking a cabin with them! We had plans to check out another company with a cabin we found online. Our GPS brought us to this office instead. After ultimately not liking the original cabin we intended, we came back to Red River Gorge Cabin rentals. At first it was like they were pushing us away, telling us to look online and book from there. We stood our ground and told them we wanted more info in person. I'm glad we did! The desk clerk ended up being super informative and gave us her honest opinion on where we should stay. They offer 50% payment up front and the rest three weeks before check in. This is super nice! It is a rare to put down a half deposit on a cabin. All the cabins here are privately owned so I believe your experience in the cabin depends on the owner. I will update how our cabin is after our stay in May but we are looking forward to our weekend getaway thanks to the office for their help. read more

Booking is easy, they always clearly give you all of the information you need for accessing your cabin, and the cabins we have stayed in have always been really nice, well furnished, and clean. They have tons of cabins, both large and small. We have stayed in smaller cabins, but have more experience with the larger cabins, as we have stayed in Natural Bridge State Resort Park several times with groups of friends. We were greeted at the entry by an enormous "TRUMP 2020 Make America Great Again" banner, leaving my girlfriend and I wondering if the business owners support the Trump/Pence administration's homophobic beliefs and if same-sex couples such as ourselves are welcome and safe here . Then the directions to get to the site were totally out of date and sent us on a wild goose chase down some heavily potholed gravel roads. Luckily, things improved from there. The cabin was sparkling clean, hot tub (wooh!) was warm and ready to go, bed was fine. Fully equipped kitchen was a bonus. The TV had Netflix on it for the end of an exhausting day. I didn't see any signs of rodents or black mold like other reviews mentioned. Stayed one week in the Almost Heaven cabin with 12 people. By the third day of our day we noticed that the sump pump wasn't properly draining. Management was alerted and they said it was fine and downplayed the issue. The next day our basement flooded, they send a maintenance man who said he couldn't fix the issue without getting into a locked closet with a key he didn't have. 8 people had to drive 30 minutes to the lodge to borrow showers and bathrooms because we weren't able to use any running water without flooding the cabin. He came back the next day "fixed" it and assured us it was fine. The two days later the basement flooded again but this time with the distinct smell of sewage everywhere. They moved us to the Red River Gorge INN and refused to reimburse any of the costs or the trouble given. The first room given was full of smoke and the door had to be propped open for 15 minutes before we could even walk in. We walked to ask an employee for help and a room change since this is a NON SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT and found the employee smoking. She said that housekeeping smokes as well so they have no idea when the room smells of smoke. We were moved to another room for the 3rd time this stay. All around terrible experience with this company, issues that could have been fixed simply with a more responsive team and one that actually responded to alarming issues with appropriate alarm. We stayed at Moonlight Ridge during Spring Break and the experience was wonderful!!! Our 3 kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. The cabin is gorgeous. The views are amazing, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, cozy fireplace, hot tub, fire pit, 3 TVs and beautifully decorated. Located in a secluded area; plenty of privacy. I needed a change of scenery and a break from work. It felt like home and we plan to return soon. A few areas of improvement to make it better for others: There has to be a wasp nest near the cabin because we were constantly killing them. The wasp kept getting inside the cabin. Very annoying when sitting on the deck. A family of 5 for 4 nights needs more than 2 trash bags. Luckily I bought my own or we would have been in trouble. You can't check-in until 4pm...should be 3pm like hotels. Lastly, the website is misleading regarding how close the cabin is to attractions. It takes all of 20 minutes to get out of Frenchburg; this cabin is DEEP into the woods. There is no way you can get to National Bridge in 30 minutes. Wonderful experience renting through RRG Cabin Rentals over Easter Weekend in April 2021 for my boyfriend's birthday! We rented a small cabin (The Quiet Place) and it was perfect for our needs. Super cozy, rustic and had a nice nice hot tub on the balcony. Very clean and affordable for 2-6 people. Also very close in distance to everything we wanted to see too including Miguel's Pizza and Natural Park Bridge. About 10-15 minute drive to each place, literally everything was on the same road. ALSO the Gorge Underground was the highlight of our trip; DEFINITELY book the cave kayaking while you're up there, you won't regret it! The only constructive criticism notes we had for the cabin was: 1) the shower handles were a little tricky to work with finding the right temp...just a bit outdated but overall fine 2) there was an empty beehive that hung in the living room above the TV that gave us the creeps lol even though it was clearly a part of the cabin decor, it kept swaying back & forth and gave us real "The Quiet Place" vibes @ night lol Overall, highly recommend booking through RRG Cabin Rentals! Lots of dirty food residue on the dishes and hot tub was gross the head rests were deteriorated most of the outside lights were in need of a new bulb. We told the team about our experience and they very much seemed disinterested to a point they didn't even take their heads away from their computer screen to even acknowledge us, and honestly seemed like they could careless about our experience or even to offer a refund or another night to change our experience. Pots and pans, and pyrex were shamefully gross and dirty. Location is ok but no back yard, front yard is a street then across street is a firepit which was nice. Ask them to warm up the hot tub because it took 24 hours for us to heat ours. Also ask owner to fix the ac controls because they limit it to 75 degrees for the lowest possible temperature you can set it to. Refrigerator door handle does not atch freezer handle. Shoddy repair work everywhere you look. Place needs attention badly as it could be a nice place with a little care and attention. Overall his place was not fun and very uncomfortable. The hot tub didn't work at all and we were blown off. Probably why they say no refunds due to hot tub issues - Don't count it as an amenity. The first stay we only got to watch the weather channel. The do not do any sort of battery checks, hot tub checks. Just basic maintenance. Then we left something there and asked for it to be shipped to us and we would of course pay. Such a beautiful location! 5-10 minute drive from most of the climbing in the area, close to other cabins but secluded enough that you feel like you have privacy, and a really cozy interior. We stayed in the Pine Cove Cabin. It sleeps 10 with 2 bedrooms, 2 queen beds, and a loft with 4 twin beds. We rented this cabin when we thought we actually had that many people. But for the first half of the week, we had 6. It was really the perfect amount for the cabin because the living pace was small. We could fit everyone at the kitchen table for meals, and squeeze comfortably on the couch and love seat for movies and relaxing. When we had 8 people, it got a but more cramped so I can imagine that 10 would have been tricky for everything but sleeping. The whole place was very clean and seemed well kept. We loved the gas fireplace! ANd the free wifi! There were a few cons: The hot tub didn't work. We placed a call about it but never had a response. The shower in the second bathroom did not have hot water. The kitchen was missing some essentials. There was no strainer for pasta, there was a lack of drinking glasses, there was a singular butter knife... really? One butter knife and two butcher's knives? That made things tricky. But all in all, this place helped us have an amazing spring break adventure at the Red River Gorge. read more

As beautiful as our cabin was (it's 5'oclock somewhere), there were some issues that I definitely hope management addresses. The supposed "fully equipped kitchen" didn't even have basic cooking necessities such as a cookie sheet, cutting board, or a spatula. We were informed upon booking that there is a fire pit behind all cabins, which there was not. The upstairs TV didn't work. The living room fireplace didn't work. (A maintenance man was sent to fix it, but he gave up on it after about 20 minutes. He said the lines just needed to be bled). There was a complete lack of end tables to set things on. There was a septic smell surrounding the cabin for our entire visit. Granted, it did rain the whole time we were here so that may have had something to do with it. Not to mention the bites that I woke up with every morning. Three here, four there, about TWENTY in a cluster on my upper arm. Just check the beds before you go to sleep for fleas or spiders and whatnot. All in all, it's a beautiful cabin in a beautiful resort, but it just needs a touch of TLC here and there. read more

Made reservations online for over Christmas weekend. Arrived late on Friday during the blizzard and below zero weather, ice, high winds. Maintenance staff had the heat and fireplace on prior to our late arrival. The power went out on the entire ridge shortly after we arrived. Maintenance supervisor texted us and kept us informed until power came back on. Water pipes froze due to the extreme cold. Maintenance was on top of it and got it back on in the morning. Had no other issues. Overall, despite what mother nature had in store the resort handled it well which made for a great Christmas. The cabin was clean and the area was quiet. Definitely would recommend and will rent from them again. I never received an email with instruction but received a call the morning of arrival saying I would be emailed again which never came. After arriving I walked in and was talking to someone behind the desk and she received a text on her phone and then completely ignored me while she completed what she was doing on her phone until the other girl attempted to help. Hot tube did not work. It was never fixed nor was anything ever followed up with me about. The cabin had spider webs in the bathroom in the ceiling that had obviously been there for some time. The overall condition of the cabin wasn't what someone paying 150.00 a night would expect. The fire pit was on such a slope it was not comfortable and the condition of the makeshift benches were unsafe since the 4x4 legs were not stable. There was trash visible in yard. Basic upkeep of the cabin has been neglected obviously for some time. The picture alludes to it being on a cliff which was correct, but the pictures aren't correct. Lodge was right on top of the cabin. Over all there is no way I would come back to that cabin and only at a great discount would I come back to another.While I understand that some cabin issues might be up to the owner if there is one, communications and lack of customer service falls on you. read more

We stayed in the top of the world cabin for two nights recently. We walked in and we were immediately disgusted by the moldy smell. Then, we opened up the hot tub and the water was very low and had dirt and hair all inside. My mother, who recently survived cancer, almost fell off the back porch when the railing gave way. It was hastily nailed in after what looked like it completely fell off before our stay. They WORST part is that we couldn't have a fire pit because the sewage obviously hadn't been emptied any time recently and the smell was HORRENDOUS. We aren't people to make a fuss and we tried hard to enjoy the fire and just get over the smell but we just couldn't. Other annoy things: came in and no batteries to TV remotes, tiny bars up soap, no sand or spray for the shuffleboard, fireplace didn't work properly, and toilet seat in upstairs bathroom was broken. read more

We drove 6 1/2 hours and spent 2 hours driving around in the resort filling a map that was provided looking for the number on the map that corresponds with our cabin. We finally found our cabin. When we walked in the windows haven't been cleaned there was a build up of dust around windows, spider webs that have been there for a long time. Broken kitchen decoration. Hot tube spelled like pure fish, air hockey table is in bad shape doesn't work hardly at all. The furniture had a large white stain on it. Spotted stains on carpet. On a good note. when we called about everything but the hot tub since we didn't know there was issues with it until the next day. They sent out the cleaners to address the inside issues within the hour. We called today about the hot tub and the cleaners do not come in until 11 then they will address that. As of now 12:15pm nobody has showed to clean the hot tub. Below is picture of good and bad. Beds are comfortable. Multiple tv remotes you have to figure out what works what. If you want a very quiet place I would recommend this place if you don't have to leave the cabin. Closest grocery store is 11 miles from us. Missing smoke detectors also. Oh and mice droppings in the kitchen under the sink. Enjoyed the night next to the fire with a glass of wine. I will keep updating until we leave tomorrow. We stayed at Mountain Chalet and we had similar issues to other reviews, although not so bad. Negatives: The beds are not queen size, they are full. The couch and chair are stained. The Teflon on the pans is peeling heavily. No utensils for the grill. Washer stinks and is moldy. It says to keep it open, but when you do, it blocks the bathroom door. In what was a comical episode, my wife got briefly stuck in there at one point. Dishwasher is out of order and appears to have been that way for awhile and we weren't informed of this ahead of our arrival. The cabin sits RIGHT on the road. There is no room around the house to play as it sits on the cliff and the cars took up the remaining space, so not super great for younger kids. There is NO insulation in the interior walls, so you hear EVERYTHING from the cabin while in the bedroom or bathroom. Floors are warped and the bedroom door sticks. Bring extra blankets, pillows, and sheets. Positives: Friendly front desk staff. The hot tub actually looked and smelled clean. I got in with no issues. Actually got in it a lot. Beautiful view from the rear porch. Refrigerator and stove work well and are clean. Despite the smell, washer and dryer clean well. The cabin has a pleasant aesthetic. Tons of local wildlife! Even signs of bears in the area. The internet works well, albeit a little if the slow side. The TVs worked and got good reception. Plenty of towels. Within a few miles of all the local attractions. The place was clean and neat when we got here. "Rustic" fire pit out front by the parking spots. Bottom Line: Although we made a lot of great memories and had fun, we probably won't rent this particular cabin again. If we were a young couple again with no kids or thrill seekers just looking for a place to crash between excursions, this place would be awesome. read more

We were nervous renting our cabin from Red Rover Gorge Cabins based on reviews but everything was great! Reservation and check in process super easy. The Irish Lullaby cabin was really nice, very secluded and private, sparkling clean and had everything we needed. Great value for price. We had an issue with picnic table and someone arrived quickly to resolve. Location was perfect 5 to 10 minutes from Natural Bridge State Park and 15 to 20 minutes from Daniel Boone Forest trailheads in Pine Ridge. One star removed as some kitchen pans could use replacing and we had to go buy wine glasses. read more

Our large family rented the Muir Valley Guest house for a weekend getaway. It is advertised as sleeping 20 but given that two of the cots in the basement were broken and there were no sheets or bedding provided for the pull out couch it really slept only 16.The kitchen has what you need for basic cooking, the directions to the cabin were excellent and the view is absolutely stunning. It has a lovely outside deck. Unfortunately this cabin needs some maintenance. First there is a LOUD pump in the bathroom in the basement that runs for about 30 to 45 seconds every hour or so 24 hours a day. There are no working lights at all for the bottom deck so if you want to enjoy the hot tub or the fire ring you have to navigate several sets of stairs in darkness. There are some gross looking stains, which I think are actually from staining the walls, in the downstairs bathroom that should be cleaned up. The downstairs toilet leaks (clean) water onto the floor. We called maintenance but they never showed. The stairs from the second floor have a fair number of broken spindles.Overall the cabin is nice it just needs a little love from the owners. Would we rent it again? Yes, I would just bring lights, my own bedding and earplugs! We had several conversations before the trip with the office staff they were always very accommodating and helpful. read more

We stayed in the great escape cabin . Everything was clean and perfect for a quick weekend getaway . The only difficulty was finding the cabin. Even after stopping for directions with management it was difficult to find the place . After chatting with locals we were finally able to find our cabin . I recommend all visitors to arrive in daylight and to drive slow, as the roads are incredibly rough . read more

Stayed at Mountain Chalet last week..very disappointed. Not worth price paid. They need to replace stained furniture...decorative pillows and armchair were soiled black from use and they smelled horrible. Two mice seen, from giant hole in wall behind washer dryer, could not be blocked. Washer had black mold in plastic and smelled bad. Dust everywhere, unsafe slippery stairs..we both fell down them twice at some point...I severly bruised my hand/arm from fall. Patio furniture was dilapidated, could not use. Too afraid to use hot tub because cleaning is not thorough anywhere else....so did not use. Pots and pans very old, non stick was peeling off into food...needs to be replaced. Bed was very lumpy, did not sleep well at all any night. Heat did not distribute well..too hot upstairs...cold downstairs. Fan in loft bedroom squeaked loudly when in use, we set it on a lower speed to avoid noise. Garbage was half full on arrival and no lid, so garbage was everywhere. Found the lid under the leaves...but no latch to keep it on bin. Garbage everywhere around property, I cleaned up a little garbage but had very little room for the garbage bin. Garbage in there looked very old. Cabin worth at most, 70 a night. read more

We stayed at Gorge-Us Getaway March 31-April 3. It was a beautiful, well-appointed cabin. Sitting at the end of a road, and right on a small lake, it was incredibly beautiful and very peaceful. I could have sat on the porch swing for hours! The hot tub was very clean and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The kitchen had everything we needed and the appliances were new. Was surprised at how comfortable the beds were - even the twin beds in the loft. The office staff was super nice and helpful. Will definitely be back!! read more

On March 23, 2019 I booked Pine Cove cabin with Red River Gorge Cabin rentals. On March 24, 2019 I received a phone call from my credit card company and there had been two fraudulent charges made to my credit card. Please know that I have had that credit card for many, many years without any issues what so ever. Pine Cove cabin had not been aired out prior to arrival. There was a musty odor throughout the cabin, which did clear a bit after leaving the door open and a fan going. Please note that the photos on their web page are very deceiving. There were dead bugs in one bedroom downstairs and live spiders in the other bedroom. In the "Features" they said there is a coffee pot and to bring your own coffee but nothing about filters. You need to bring your own filters. The description said they provide basic pots and pans but what they don't say is that the pans are so burned they are disgusting. The base of the Mr. Coffee was also scorched. There were no trays to make ice. There was a grill located outside but it had not been cleaned for quite some time. I brought charcoal but didn't cook on a grill that was a filthy as that one was. Taking a peek at the "hot-tub" it wasn't to bad, but didn't use that either based on the other uncleanliness of things. So, don't believe everything that is written, ask questions and be sure to double check your credit card. read more

Stayed at Nature's Lullaby May 2021. The cabin was beautiful. So peaceful. Lots of trails to walk. Only comment would be that the kitchen is not stocked well. We hade very few place settings. Cabin advertised "Sleeps 8" There were on flatware for 5. Hard to cook a meal with limited bowls, no strainer. Booking was easy. I would stay again. read more

Stayed at Pine Cove cabin of Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals. I would say significantly overpriced. Served our needs. However, there were mouse droppings on the dresser and a mouse scurried out from under the stove while we were there. Also observed the large Trump/Pence signage upon arriving which is definitely not friendly to a variety of folks in the country. Back to the mice. I emailed the reservation department twice about the mice issue and got no response, although they were quite quick to respond when I was actually making my reservation. Would look for a different place if heading back to the area. Great nature nearby, just find a different location. read more
