My boyfriend was driving from Arizona to Kentucky for a fishing tournament at Lake Cumberland…read more After searching online for days looking at expensive chain hotels online I finally lucked out and found Seven Gables after scrolling through pages of hotels to find anything closest to the lake for convenience. As this is a family owned operated I understand why you cannot make reservations online. My boyfriend booked during a tournament at a very reasonable nightly rate for 8 nights. During his drive he had car troubles and was not able to make his check in on time. After a call to the hotel they were will to work with us to remove the first night at no charge which definitely is not something a normal chain hotel would accommodate. During my boyfriends stay he had nothing but nice things to say. The staff were friendly, always going above and beyond, and the coffee, selection of donuts, muffins, and variety of bars were always available in the morning. The room was clean, the room was big with lots of space with a walk in closet which was nice, and the beds were comfy. I was so impressed after flying in and meeting the staff and seeing just how awesome this hotel was I couldn't help but leaving them a personal note at check out for being so great and really making it a home away from home. Hope to see you during our next fishing tournament. Heather & Dustin

The pontoon boat was a comfortable way to cruise, although I would advise EXTRA time if you intend to grill supper on the boat...I'm sure the regulators are there for people who may not camp often, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to cook brats :-p They stayed in the "motel" style cottage which had a nice view of the sunset on the lake. Everything was well-kept and clean. And, they managed to catch a few fish during their stay! A very easy, scenic drive from the Nashville area, I'd definitely consider spending a weekend here!

After a young boy delivered our meals (minus our salad) to the wrong table then brought them over to us...a few minutes later our waitress came up and said "here's your salad", then walked away! She never returned to ask about our meals, until she brought our check. The food...my sirloin was ordered as medium but arrived nearly rare. The Mac & Cheese was watery and had no flavor. The baked potato was ordered with extra butter but definitely did not have it. We also ordered a ribeye steak (that costs $34) that was extremely fatty. 7/16/2026: Prices on the Boathouse @ Conley Bottom website are not updated. I.e. the sirloin is listed on the website menu as $22.99 but in the restaurant it is $24..99. Would not recommend!!

We traveled to Kentucky for college soccer and wanted something unique. Holmes Bend cabins are…read morerustic but cozy! We shared a 2 bedroom cabin with another couple and it was plenty big a for all of us. We did have to share a small bathroom, but we were all so easy-going it worked for us. It wasn't the absolute cleanest accommodations we've ever been in, but being in the woods could contribute to that. The bed was clean and pillows were plenty to help make up for the average comfort mattress. It was nothing that bothered us at all though -- but if you are bougie, a cabin in the woods is probably not where you want to be. But we preferred being here versus a Best Western. We rented 4 cabins between 15 of us and had a great time. We had some free time, the weather was perfect, so we rented a pontoon in the marina to spend the day riding and floating in the Green River. The hospitality was great. True Kentucky charm and easy going warmth. We loved the process from flexible booking by calling, to help with extra towels and the rental service with the pontoon. It's pretty remote, but nothing was farther than 20 minutes for where we needed to go. If you are looking for something unique and like nature, this is definitely a great place to stay. Fully stocked kitchen, extra linens and an on-property laundry. Giving it 5 stars because it's exactly as it's stated, it's unique and we had a blast!
