    Comfortable beds & roomy rooms
    Mark H.

What a nice place! Clean comfortable rooms with tons of space. Stayed here a couple times and each room was unique. Fresh sent, clean carpets, flat screen TV, walk in closet and a POOL. The owners where friendly and accommodating. Out of all the chain hotels near by I would chose this one every time.

Best night's sleep away from home in a long time.

I didn't hear anything from the hallways or adjacent rooms. It was set far back enough from the main road so I didn't hear any traffic noise. The staff were incredibly helpful at check-in and suggested where I should park based on my room's location. I did have some difficulties finding the location, even with GPS, as you can't easily see it from the road. You basically drive through a bank parking lot and it's tucked behind it. There are SO MANY RESTAURANTS nearby to choose from. I honestly don't know what Somerset's about (is it a college town? Something with horses? State capitol?) to need all these restaurants, but I was thankful they were here. It was just a town I was driving through on my way somewhere else. Staff were great, room was ideal, I was spoiled with dining choices, and the morning breakfast bar was perfect. Couldn't ask for anything better.

I was able to tell her…read moreall the information to make it; however, when I asked for a confirmation, she was quick to respond that she was doing many things at once and that it would take time to send a confirmation email. Customer service wise, if you pick up the phone, you need to either put the guest on hold, while you finish what you are doing with another guest. Do not try to take a reservation and then state that "I cannot do this right now because I am doing too many things at once." It came off so rude. Anyway, I was able to get the confirmation, the email I requested never had shown up, and so i had to jot down the number from an individual who was already irritated. OMG, it is not my problem you were irritated because you were not trained well to prioritize workload! Coming from an hour and a half away, it is kind of important to feel secure that the hotel I am making a reservation at will book me and have a room available. I was a bit thrown... I travel here and I notice that the first Hampton Inn sign (turned perpendicular) to the entrance that serves two hotels (Holiday Inn, Aldi, and Hampton Inn) is a bit misplaced. I ended up in the Aldi's parking lot because it was in front of it. I end up coming inside and a guy takes my information and gets me the room keys. Everything smooth there. I then ask because I see on Google Reviews and on here, it is not stated very well; however, breakfast at this Hampton Inn is completely free. I know with some Hilton brand and Marriott brand hotels, one has to be on a member tier to be able to get it free. If not, they will have to pay full price. Luckily, this is not the case here. Just wanted to make that clear. The cable options in the room are amazing. Good t.v. guide with title of the show and alphabetically ranged (*note for myself, they have The Travel Channel). 126 channels in all! 04/16/2026 The breakfast was not bad. They had a variety of make your own (waffles and cinnamon buns) and then these black seed lemon tarts in the plastic display. The hot foods were breakfast cups (bread with egg used as spread), bacon strips (which were actually crispy and cooked well), and lemon potato wedges (I was not too fond of them). If one were to keep going, they would have all the cereals. Another big thing is the cut fruit. I was taking bowls of that. Probably the only time I actually care enough to get my fruit portion in. Comparing to a Quality Inn's breakfast, they definitely have Hampton Inn beat on the potato wedges. I wish Quality Inns would cook the bacon like this Hampton Inn had done, though. I feel like hotel breakfasts have pretty much the same ingredients, just done up more in Hiltons (Hampton Inn). Egg beater yellow (folded) eggs that may come scrambled at Quality Inn, will be liquified on the bread to make the cups. The potato wedges will be more cooked (not fried) and have lemon juice squeezed on them. The cut fruit may actually be cut by someone or bought from a store, pre cut, instead of a served in a Dole fruit cup (which is more preserved) and placed in a fridge. They do not give tea options in the rooms; however, I found that they had unique Cranberry tea (have not seen that in other hotels in Kentucky) along with Lemon Ginger. They also have herbal, black, green (I think) and earl grey.

So everything was fine on check in yesterday…read more I get to my room 103 and the first issue I encounter is the heater/ac. Apparently, the temperature gauge on it is all missed up. There is one range of numbers where I could not tell you what the temperature was because not all the bulbs brighten up. Two ranges that actually appear like real double digits are 40+ and then 10+. Weirdly enough, this is not in Celsius (that is what I originally thought). Needless to state, this needs to be maintained better. Then I go take a shower and the shower has the H (hot) to the left and C (cold) to the right. I was sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for the water to get hot, before I thought to myself, "Why not put it on C and see what happens?" There was the hot water. -_- It is at a three star because both items worked; however, not as intended. I have another day here. Stay tuned. 09/16/2025 Breakfast was small in variety, but not bad. Hot foods: Biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, and egg beater eggs Bakery items? Make your own waffles, prepackaged honey buns, slices of white bread in plastic, and whole bagels wrapped in plastic Dairy: Yogurt, one gallon milk bottle for cereals (four of them) Really to the point. I had to ask for ketchup and the front desk individual just had forgotten to put them out. I had taken four sausage patties and a honey bun and I was good to go. They do not rotate meats, as shown on a daily menu. The first four days of the week sausage patties will be served. The last three days of the week, bacon "slices." 9/17/2025 Breakfast was the same. Edit: An hour after the start time (6:00 a.m.) I did see bacon today. Interesting. So do they just randomize the food? I guess I have to give a star back. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy and the smell basically made its way over to my room because I was on the first floor. They have a tea that they do not give to one in the rooms, lemon/ginger tea. Throughout my stay here though, they did not any decaffeinated options for tea, which I have seen at other hotels. Noticed that the room does not have a microwave or any digital clock (not like they are ever on the right time anyway). I have to write that the only way I knew a microwave was nonexistent was because there was nothing telling the time (usually I reset the microwave clock or use it to have easy access to time). Yes, now days, one can use their cell phone and I even have a wrist watch (who still uses those?); however, it is just convenient to see the time from bed level.

I took it, but there didn't seem to have any concern. She certainly didn't look surprised. I was told the manager would call me the next day. He did not. I found this place months ago and my initial plans in February fell through, so on July 3rd as I planned a work related adventure in the area, I remembered this place. I called pretty much at the last minute and was welcomed by Michelle. She isn't actually onsite but met us a few miles away (not because we were lost or anything). I will admit, I'm extremely picky when it comes to hotels and resorts, so I was worried and didn't want to commit before checking it out. Michelle was extremely gracious and showed us around the entire house. It passed the test and I chose the "Lakeside" room. The room had it's own bathroom, and was immaculate. It was the only room in the inn with a private patio. When we first arrived it was loud because it overlooks the lake and it was a busy weekend. The view... why do we travel out of state when we have so much beauty within Kentucky?! The bad news: it's on the market for sale... If you have $775,000 and decide to buy this place, hit me up because I'd love to stay here again. The owner, Mr. Noble was a bit unwelcoming at first, as Michelle was showing us around. I guess that's what he pays her for anyway. As he sat in the living room, watching The History Channel on the community tv, my talkative husband got him to open up and he explained that this was Mrs. Noble's dream and she passed away five years ago. They built the 8,000 square ft home ten years ago. Breakfast was prepared by Michelle and we ate in a community setting, there was only one other couple and Mr. Noble. I don't mind the shared seating because I cruise a lot and that's the norm on a cruise. But if you don't like that, a B&B probably isn't for you. I don't think that I would've enjoyed it as much if the house were full to capacity. Check out was at 11:00 and they were expecting a full house in the 4th. The price was a bit steep, over double the rate that I was quoted in February. I think that if they were to lower the rate on non holidays and weekdays, I bet they would get more visitors. All in all, it's a great getaway with an awesome view.
