    Cumberland lake
    Steve S.

We rented a pontoon boat today from this marina. It's ok. The good - the boat ran fine, we had plenty of gas. The not so good- the pontoon was very used. Carpet was shot with big holes in it. The railings were broken, need to be welded. The picture of it when we rented it showed a BBQ, we packed burgers and kabobs- no way yo cook them. Also, they didn't give us an anchor. No way to stay put. I'd be back but pack sandwiches for your lunch. And maybe a

Extremely dirty. Mice droppings all over cottage. Pill found in corner of bedroom. Description say queen bed but it was a full. House keeping never came during 2 week stay. We had to call for linens every time. Steps were broken and unsteady. Very difficult to get keys to cottage and no one avail on weekend for check in. Have to walk to marina and get keys from lock box. Have pics to confirm all statement.

we rented the little coral houseboat. It was beautiful. Everyone there is extremely helpful. If you have any issues at all, they have all the answers. It's a friendly well run place. The lake is absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing time. We definitely plan to go back!

Okay if it's for the lake and the view, food? Okay- nothing special. Bar drinks? They may need to retrain their bar tender.

We have been staying at Lost Lodge for over 7 years and these cabins are definitely my and my friend's favorite place to stay at Lake Cumberland. It isn't far from my boat at Conley Bottom and the cabins can't be beaten (especially for the great price)!

The woman who owns the place was extremely rude when she saw my service dog and complained that there would hair on stuff. We were also told we had to keep the AC on low. What really burned me up was her mention of her "Mexican speaking cleaning lady who doesn't speak English or clean well". Now if that wasn't bad enough, this woman tried to charge a security deposit for a trained service dog, which is illegal. When I mentioned that ADA laws forbid charging a security deposit, she got nasty. I can show the text messages if needed. We were then asked to vacate the cabin. We got back to the cabin after cutting our day short, she had turned off the AC in our cabin! She claimed that we had to leave due to a sewer issue in another cabin, but I spoke with the occupants and they let me know that she was full of crap and there was no issue with the sewer system. Now, if you looked at their website, you would think that this was a resort-like setting with a river and boating on-site. The reality, it's a trailer park setting with cabins and there is nothing on the premises except a tiny little plastic "pond" and a mound of ashes out back that they call a fire pit. Save your money and stay somewhere else. Do not support someone who discriminates against the disabled.

As this is a family owned operated I understand why you cannot make reservations online. My boyfriend booked during a tournament at a very reasonable nightly rate for 8 nights. During his drive he had car troubles and was not able to make his check in on time. After a call to the hotel they were will to work with us to remove the first night at no charge which definitely is not something a normal chain hotel would accommodate. During my boyfriends stay he had nothing but nice things to say. The staff were friendly, always going above and beyond, and the coffee, selection of donuts, muffins, and variety of bars were always available in the morning. The room was clean, the room was big with lots of space with a walk in closet which was nice, and the beds were comfy. I was so impressed after flying in and meeting the staff and seeing just how awesome this hotel was I couldn't help but leaving them a personal note at check out for being so great and really making it a home away from home. Hope to see you during our next fishing tournament. Heather & Dustin

I didn't hear anything from the hallways or adjacent rooms. It was set far back enough from the main road so I didn't hear any traffic noise. The staff were incredibly helpful at check-in and suggested where I should park based on my room's location. I did have some difficulties finding the location, even with GPS, as you can't easily see it from the road. You basically drive through a bank parking lot and it's tucked behind it. There are SO MANY RESTAURANTS nearby to choose from. I honestly don't know what Somerset's about (is it a college town? Something with horses? State capitol?) to need all these restaurants, but I was thankful they were here. It was just a town I was driving through on my way somewhere else. Staff were great, room was ideal, I was spoiled with dining choices, and the morning breakfast bar was perfect. Couldn't ask for anything better.

So the reservation started off kind of shaky. I called and a gal picked up. I was able to tell her…read moreall the information to make it; however, when I asked for a confirmation, she was quick to respond that she was doing many things at once and that it would take time to send a confirmation email. Customer service wise, if you pick up the phone, you need to either put the guest on hold, while you finish what you are doing with another guest. Do not try to take a reservation and then state that "I cannot do this right now because I am doing too many things at once." It came off so rude. Anyway, I was able to get the confirmation, the email I requested never had shown up, and so i had to jot down the number from an individual who was already irritated. OMG, it is not my problem you were irritated because you were not trained well to prioritize workload! Coming from an hour and a half away, it is kind of important to feel secure that the hotel I am making a reservation at will book me and have a room available. I was a bit thrown... I travel here and I notice that the first Hampton Inn sign (turned perpendicular) to the entrance that serves two hotels (Holiday Inn, Aldi, and Hampton Inn) is a bit misplaced. I ended up in the Aldi's parking lot because it was in front of it. I end up coming inside and a guy takes my information and gets me the room keys. Everything smooth there. I then ask because I see on Google Reviews and on here, it is not stated very well; however, breakfast at this Hampton Inn is completely free. I know with some Hilton brand and Marriott brand hotels, one has to be on a member tier to be able to get it free. If not, they will have to pay full price. Luckily, this is not the case here. Just wanted to make that clear. The cable options in the room are amazing. Good t.v. guide with title of the show and alphabetically ranged (*note for myself, they have The Travel Channel). 126 channels in all! 04/16/2026 The breakfast was not bad. They had a variety of make your own (waffles and cinnamon buns) and then these black seed lemon tarts in the plastic display. The hot foods were breakfast cups (bread with egg used as spread), bacon strips (which were actually crispy and cooked well), and lemon potato wedges (I was not too fond of them). If one were to keep going, they would have all the cereals. Another big thing is the cut fruit. I was taking bowls of that. Probably the only time I actually care enough to get my fruit portion in. Comparing to a Quality Inn's breakfast, they definitely have Hampton Inn beat on the potato wedges. I wish Quality Inns would cook the bacon like this Hampton Inn had done, though. I feel like hotel breakfasts have pretty much the same ingredients, just done up more in Hiltons (Hampton Inn). Egg beater yellow (folded) eggs that may come scrambled at Quality Inn, will be liquified on the bread to make the cups. The potato wedges will be more cooked (not fried) and have lemon juice squeezed on them. The cut fruit may actually be cut by someone or bought from a store, pre cut, instead of a served in a Dole fruit cup (which is more preserved) and placed in a fridge. They do not give tea options in the rooms; however, I found that they had unique Cranberry tea (have not seen that in other hotels in Kentucky) along with Lemon Ginger. They also have herbal, black, green (I think) and earl grey.

So, of course, it won't be the best hotel ever. I get that, but this place seems so run down. First and foremost, it seems that someone had busted our door in and broke the frame. So, I did not feel safe at all. (If the staff is reading this, PLEASE fix any doors that are broken like this. Our door didn't even close fully). Our curtain wouldn't close without pulling so hard you think you're going to rip it down. Three of our four lamps did not work. The toilet was temperamental and did NOT want to flush, and the shower wouldn't drain. There were cracks everywhere in the bathroom, and nothing seemed clean. I thought I would be fine walking barefoot from the bed to the toilet, but that ended up turning the bottom of my feet black. Go figure. There are a few nice things here, though! I can't say it's all awful. The front desk staff are polite, so sorry if this review hurts you. You were great. The pool and hot tub were relaxing. The pillows were nice, and we had a tv with plenty of channels. There was free wi-fi, our room had a nice color scheme, there's a microwave and refrigerator, and the air conditioner kept the room cool. However, I would not recommend you stay here unless it is a last resort or you are running low on cash.
