Went here this morning with the kids for a group event. Parking was easy and I really liked that both playground areas are enclosed. It makes a big difference when you have little ones or wanderers and want a bit more peace of mind. There are options for both bucket swings and regular swings, so it works well for different ages. The splash pad area is pretty spacious and gives kids plenty of room to run around, although it's not enclosed. There are quite a few trees around the park but they aren't really positioned in a way that provides much shade where you'd actually want to sit/can sit comfortably. The women's bathroom had multiple stalls, which was nice, but there was no changing table or hand soap in the bathroom. The bathrooms just gave a very worn look/feel to it though. Also not a big fan that they were a bit far from the playground and right in front of the parking lot. It gave me a bad feeling. I also saw there's a disc golf course here, if anyone is wondering (pics provided). The biggest issue for me was the amount of trash scattered around. There was everything from random litter to cigarette butts in common areas, which took away from the overall experience. With better maintenance, I feel like this park can be a favorite in the future. read more

I can see that this used to be a good park. Great park even, in the past. Play structure, baseball field, nicely designed disc golf course, drought tolerant vegetation, nice walking paths. However these days it seems to be run into the ground. Just very dirty and unloved. Trash everywhere, dog poop everywhere, faded signs, graffiti, broken irritation. It was so difficult to play the disc golf course when every feet had poop. Bring hand sanitizer! read more

This park is around the corner from my house so I come here often. I love the nice walking trail that goes through the whole park. It's a great path to walk my dog on and it's well light at night. The park has a pretty good frisbee golf course and lots of grass space. Plus, there's a basketball court and plenty of baseball fields along with a playground area and water splash zone that operates seasonally. The reason for the 3 star review is the grass at this park is sadly maintained. It always looks practically dead. I wish they would water it more and maintain it better so it looked prettier. There is no actual dog park here but with the expansive grass area and walking path, I don't miss one. read more

Hubby is the coach for our son's flag football team (Non-Competitive/ Recreational division- National Youth Sports). Instructions were advised about setting up a grassy location for Practice. Since the location is so close to the school that they are playing at, Wilbur & Theresa Faiss Middle School, this was the field that was chosen for Practice. Where they practice- A corner - the grass is squishy, but there are some trees for some shade (for the parents). Splash pad, playgrounds (2), basketball courts, walking trails, not level, lots of hills- it's huge. Parking is next to the splash pad, playground, baseball field. Some people are parking on the street, but there are signs that state not to do that. read more

Use to be a good park. I live near the park and usually walk my dog there. But lately, I notice these two couples came practice their golf swing at the park!? It was a full swing across the field! This is crazy! So dangerous! I went to the park three times, and saw them three time!! Sure! Its a public park! But, come on! This is not a golf course! What if I or someone got hit by the ball?! Took the pup for a walk this a.m. as it was the closest one to my spot. Lots of parking and not too crowded which was great as he tends to get easily distracted if there's too much going on. Super cute park! Big sprawling grassy lawn areas (watch out for frolfers!). Paved walking path around the circumference of the park. Lots of trash bins and dog poop bag stations. Enormous grass field for all kinds of sports. It goes downhill so it might be a workout. Also other fenced sports fields. Everything nicely kept clean. The picnic area was messy with lots of trash, looks like homeless left it there. The playgrounds for different ages and water playground are fun. Hardly any shade around. I would only give this playground at this park 2.5-3 stars. The reason why is because there is a lot of graffiti. It also doesn't seem as kept up on maintenance like other parks and playgrounds. Some things it does have going for it is that it is a huge park! Lots of space to walk around. It mostly seems like a dog park though. Great neighborhood park to spend a beautiful day! It's fairly big. One loop of walking around equals to one mile. There are plenty of activities you can do here. There is a baseball field, a small basketball playing area, a disc golf course (watch for low flying discs), a separate, gated playground for children, a fun water feature especially for summer ( splash ground) and also have restrooms. You can bring pets to this park. BUT dogs must have on leash! Lot of times I have seen dogs running around free. It never bothered me, but I can see the potential danger of it! Just beware of this if you bring your dog here. Litter bags are provided for your curtesy in case you don't have any! The park have plenty of garbage cans. Thankfully most people use them, nobody seems to litter. There are some covered seating areas. They can be used for birthday parties or other activities. There is no drinking water here! It's recycled water, DO NOT DRINK WATER! Bring your own drinking water! read more

It's a smaller park. Mostly a disc golf park but they do have a pretty big open field behind the playgrounds. It's a bit run down looking. The grills are not well kept and from what I saw there are only a couple of places/pavilions to grill at. It also looks like people haven't been picking up after their pets at this park even with the convenient poop stations scattered around the park. Nobody is really to blame for that but bad pet owners. Overall a convenient park and a pretty good place to bring your dog for a walk just watch out for the poopy land mines. read more

This is a really nice hidden park. I used to come here often with my older son at summer time. It has a HUGE grass area to play on. It also has a splash pad that needed some fixing last time I was there, but it was SUPER exciting for the kiddos to run and play around at. It also has two separate gated playgrounds, for little kids and for older ones. What's nice is that you could actually close the playground's gate and your toddler won't run out. The issue is, like other Vegas' parks, it gets beyond hot in those crazy summer days and the splash zone isn't shaded. I wish they would shade it, this would make this park so much nicer! This past weekend we were invited to a kids birthday party here. They've rented a huge bouncy/trampoline and used the shaded picnic tables. It was nice and hot ;). read more

Only rating the splash pad. This splash pad is the dirtiest and most unkept I've seen in town. It needs maintenance, drains are clogged, pads are dirty, cement area dirty, needs painted, some of the water pop-ups not popping up, very unkept. It could be very nice if it had some care as the grass park surrounding it looks very pretty. I won't be back. The birds love the clogged drains as they were taking a bath in the water. Regarding the play area - Yikes! One of the slides is cordoned off. The rubber turf is missing in deep holes on the playground surface causing tripping hazards for children and parents alike. The rubber has peeled off in sheets in the water area, revealing exposed concrete that is VERY slippery when wet. Another hazard greater than the first - heads on concrete is NO BUENO! This is the third County park I've noticed major playground hazards (safety concerns greater than a little graffiti or dirty equipment) in the last month. C'mon, get it together! read more

I played disc golf here for the first time on Saturday. As a 9 hole course, it goes pretty quickly, even for newbies like me who can't throw their discs very far. My friends and I played twice, and had a blast. The course is nice, and the park is lovely. My complaint? The guy walking around playing golf on the disc golf course. Like...real golf. I personally don't want to worry about getting clocked in the head by a golf ball when I'm throwing my discs. read more

This is a nice, small park that I only discovered recently. It has picnic gazebo thingies, a basketball court, a softball field, and a pretty nice looking kids playground. I even went here last night to do some lightning photography from underneath one of the gazebos. The reason I first came here a couple of weeks ago was to play a round of frisbee golf. The course is a compact 9-hole affair. If you look at the park from above on Google Maps, you'd think it was a real golf course. What I mean is, the course design has well-defined fairways and the holes meander back and forth like switchbacks on a trail. Unlike other frisbee golf courses, the area is separated from the rest of the park. This is good and bad. It's good because you don't have to worry so much about hitting people who are enjoying the park for other purposes. It's bad because that makes it a single-use area of land. Other courses try to work around the park that already exists. But I digress. That's really a philosophical thing. The course is young, so the trees are still new and I found it to be quite easy. Put it this way. I haven't played in years and I was able to get an even score over the nine holes. As the trees grow and mature, there will be more obstacles and those narrow fairways will become a bigger factor in the game. read more

This park is pretty nice but not as well kept as I'm used to. The circle trail around the park is pretty nice to follow along to get some exercise or walk your dog. I came here to walk my dog and him and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a lot of people there surprisingly for a Wednesday afternoon. There are a lot of families and teenagers at the skate park area. They also have frisbee golf baskets on different fields. If you are walking a pet, they also have doggie bags if you need them. Overall a really great park for a nice walk or playing on the fields of grass. There's possible been an uptick of people and that's the reason for some of the trash I saw around. Yelp 100 Challenge 2013- 13/100 Red Ridge Park is literally a 10 min stroll from my condo. I will be moving soon and I will miss my frequent visits to this park. When in my hardcore fitness kick, I would run around the park and gauge my distance since 1 lap around the exterior of the park is close to a mile. As other mentioned, two sides are slightly up hill and the other two sides are flat= nice easy run. I also enjoy that it is well lit at night and I always felt safe running by myself. The park features a small water park for kids, large play area for older kids, smaller play area for younger kids (see pics), basketball courts, and a baseball diamond (see pic). The park is always busy, but I never really felt crowded. You will always see people walking, playing with their dogs,or enjoying a sunny day with a picnic. They just started to build houses directly across from this park. The Dunhill homes start at around 200K for the base price and the neighborhood is growing. They're worth taking a look at if you like the Southwest area. Views of the park would be nice compared to views of other homes. The new Wet n Wild Water Park is close by, too. The one thing I wish they had..... an enclosed dog park like some other parks I travel to visit. read more

Great park, they have a Frisbee Golf Course. Areas for everything. The problem is, Dog's running around unsupervised! Crazy and dangerous! People not cleaning up. Never see Park Police. To be fair I go to this park 5-8 times a year. It's always packed. Furthermore it's a 2 minute walk from my Las Vegas house which is in a very nice neighborhood. The lose dogs grinds my gears! Frisbee Golf anyone? Or I suppose the technical term is Disc Golf. This park has 9 holes that equate to 3588 ft. long. So a quick and easy game, that is unless the wind picks up. I have yet to actually play here golf here, but I've been wanting to. UYE anyone?? This is the closest park to my home, (please don't stalk me). I stumbled upon it looking for somewhere to get some steps in, out in the great outdoors. It's located at the intersection of Arby Ave. and El Capitan Way, next to an elementary school, tucked behind a neighborhood. There's a walking trail all around the outside that measures 1.1 miles (I tracked it).. .So it's a convenient way to keep track of distance if you're like me and that's important to you. It can be crazy busy on the weekends but weekday mornings and mid afternoons it's a nice place to catch a breath of fresh air. For a small park it has something for everyone: They have 2 baseball fields, where you'll often see kids playing on the weekends. There's also a playground for the littler kids.There are a ton of park benches, 4 or 5 pavilions, a large open grassy area for touch football, tag, red rover or whatever else you fancy. read more

There's one main reason why I enjoy coming to this park compared to the others, there's rarely anyone here and it's large enough to let my dog off his leash to run freely. There's a small semi-fenced play area for the kiddos and the rest of the park is just a large field. Great for playing football, frisbee, or soccer. There's also a fenced off field ...this is embarrassing but I forgot what sport it was for because I honestly pay no attention and head straight for the open field as soon as I get here. There's a sidewalk built along the whole field and runs slight just under a mile so definitely a great place to get a good jog in. Oh Red Ridge, how you have let me down. Well not you, but the people who live near you. So, we were SO excited watching this park being built. We are a nice 10 minute walk away. The first couple years, it was great. We have been to and had parties here. The water feature was great, park was great...it was all....GREAT! Now?!? UGH! The GHETTO neighbors have treated this park like their own personal garbage can. Every time we have gone there are many many children using the black plastic bags (provided for dog poop) to cover the drains in the water park, so it will overflow. Then they leave, literally, dozens of black bags everywhere. Every table and bench is sticky and disgusting, things in the park are broken from misuse, covered up and then still used by kids who have zero parental supervision. As bad as all the is, the kicker was our trip this evening. Last night was 4th of July and there were dozens and dozens and dozens of HUGE fireworks covering the entire field. It looked like a city fireworks display that some group brought to the park, had a fun holiday and then LEFT ALL THE TRASH THERE!! Just covering half of the field where the kids have soccer games and sports practice. I just can't believe what kind of people would do something like that. So good news, if you are trashy and let your kids run wild and treat the world like your personal garbage can, you will LOVE this park and meet a ton of like-minded people! This is a great cozy park. Has a nice walking trail and plenty of room to play with your dogs. The jungle gym is just like any other park and is very nice. The baseball diamonds are great for team ball sports. They have a basketball court that sometimes gets crowded but over all it's a great place to play. Really nice park. Has splash pads. But Needs some cleaning a lot of trash everywhere . And there's a bunch of safety hazards on the play ground . A lot of the ladders have construction signs chained so kids can't go up, which is fine , but the signs have extremely sharp edges . And a few of the swings were broken. This park is located just a 5-minute walk away from one of my aunts' house and whenever we're around the area, I'd see to it that my family takes some time off the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, throw out a picnic blanket, munch on some goodies, blow some bubbles and just lay under the sun for a nice picnic (not in the middle of a summer's day of course, or else you can expect to be back home looking/feeling/smelling like burnt toast). If you do the same, you'll find yourself surrounded by grassland (feel the earth in your hands) big enough to savor yet small enough to enjoy its intimate feel. There's a little water park for kids complete with swings and hang bars, a little baseball court, basketball area, lots of seating, a barbecue area and a well-paved sidewalk for a nice stroll/jog. At times, you'll see boot camp teams doing rigorous training in the grass. Other times, you'll see families playing frisbees with their dogs. It's a great place to take a breather. Keep this in mind as well. For those of you who're concerned about dog remains, wipe that worry off cause they've got special plastic bags for that. I can assure you this is one very pet friendly park. On top of the wonderful atmosphere, you also get to see the beautiful Las Vegas strip that glitters in the distance. It's a wonderful bonus on nights when all you want to do is lay on the grass and gaze at the stars. Parks are one of the best getaways from stress. There's so much to do and it doesn't cost you a buck. I can't wait till fall when the next activity on my wishlist comes up - KITE FLYING! read more

I really do enjoy walking the 'circuit' around the park. 3 cycles and you have a good 4 mile stroll. Since moving into the area and enjoying a daily jaunt, I've lost so much weight. I just wish dog owners would be more considerate and pick up their pet's 'landmines'. One day I'll have to grab my Frisbee (Disc) and play a round or two on the course. read more

This is a great park, with all kinds of stuff for kids and adults alike.. I ended up here last weekend with a group of friends for a nice picnic with all the kids and there was no shortage of happenings, from the baseball games to the water park area and the Frisbee golf coarse if you cant find something to do you probably should not be at a park at all. They have the community BBQ's and covered dining areas and it is all very well kept up and not run down like a ton of other parks in the area. If you plan on hitting the park on a Sunday afternoon like we did be prepared to park out on the street due to all the baseball games and things going on there was not an abundance of parking but it is manageable. read more

Pretty sweet place to go running. It has exactly 2 upgrades and 2 downgrades when you run the perimeter of this park so there's an easy to difficult part to go through. The atmospher is nice here to have practice soccer, flag football, or baseball games. They have a playground, BBQ areas, and even a clean restroom facility. There is plenty of parking around the park, and it is also dog friendly. I recommend this park for a nice stroll, run, or to bring your team sporting group to practice. I also recommend it for a park party, picnic, or BBQ. I even go to this park to meet up with my bootcamp class because it is perfect for doing all of our exercises and runs. Great park! I really enjoy this park. It's close to my house but easy to get to from 215 on the west side from either Durango or the Sunset exit. It's got a great childrens play area, many picnic tables with shade and a couple of Baseball/Softball fields. The public restooms are usually open and clean as well. I like to do my Cardio here because it has an sidewalk that wraps around the outside and measures almost exactly a mile. It's plenty wide enough when you pass people going the other way, no need to step off onto the grass to get around. This park also boasts a "Disk Golf" course. It's only half a course (9 holes) and I haven't tried it yet but it looks like a lot of fun. They seem to use a special kind of Frisbee though and I'm not sure where to pick them up. But would be a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the outdoors and people/dog watch. read more

This park is a good place to walk. I usually walk around the perimeter and I am amused enough by the other park-goers that I do not get bored. The Disc Golf course is what my friends usually go for here and I have witnessed multiple times that this park is in constant up-keep. There is always a city employee cleaning up and doing the landscaping. This is one of the nicer parks in my opinion on the Southwest side of town. There is ample parking, a few outdoor areas with picnic tables for parties. There are some baseball friends, a water (feature) park and a play area for the little kids.
