Mango Supreme

I had such a wonderful experience at Red Ribbon thanks to the cashier named Melita who assisted me and my cousin during her birthday celebration! She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the whole visit feel extra special for us. Her kindness truly stood out when she surprised us with a free slice of ube cake for my cousin. it was such a thoughtful gesture and made her birthday even more memorable. We really appreciated how she went above and beyond with genuine warmth and great customer service. Because of her, we left not only satisfied with our purchase but also smiling and feeling celebrated. Thank you for the amazing service. we'll definitely be coming back!

6 for $12 deal!!

Swung by Red Ribbon in West Covina on a last-minute mission for carb goodies before they locked the doors. The pastry gods were not fully on my side..... slim pickings..... but hallelujah, the 6 mamons for $12 deal still stood tall like a sweet, buttery beacon of hope!!! Score!! Location? Prime!!! Nestled next to a Seafood City (aka the mothership of Filipino groceries) w parking galore. No parallel parking acrobatics required!! Now... the service. Lemme see... if I had a dollar for every side-eye and deadpan "Can I help you," I'd have enough to buy another six mamons. I love me some ube, ensaymada, and mamon, but can we get a smile w that sponge cake? Filipino food = comfort. Filipino service? Sometimes feels like your tita caught you talking back and now you're grounded or got the slipper whack!! Red Ribbon, Jollibee, Chowking, Goldilocks... y'all are feeding our bellies, but please, feed our souls w a tiny sprinkle of customer service joy. Is that too much to ask? Maybe a "Hi po!" w a side of sincerity? Bottom line: Come for the pastries, stay for the passive-aggressive ambiance.

Happy birthday to me in a couple of days!

I was on my way back from my monster in laws ;) jk I meant my dearest mother in laws BDAY and I decided to grab a mango for my bday which is coming up in a few days as well... SONG of the DAY to play along to this YELP review: Cake by the Ocean by DNCE... MANGO CAKE: 4.5/5 This brought NOSTALGIA to me because this was the cake that my parents would buy me for my bday as a little girl. However, the location was different. They would get the cake from the LOS ANGELES location. This one was on the dryer and sweeter side than the one I remembered... It satisfied the craving though! ;) SERVICE: A ok PARKING:Plenty and busy! ROCK ON RED RIBBON BAKESHOP!!!!!

Mango cake was requested for my girl's bday. Called ahead and placed an order which was easy and convenient. Their website limits the characters and couldn't get the full Happy Birthday and name on the cake, which was a bummer but the call was quick and easy. Just needed a few hours notice. Love that they add a few candles just in case and had a cake knife when requested. We didn't use the candles, but is thoughtful. Only blip was the website and cake was a bit pricy for size, but delicious. I also tried a couple of empeñadas. Spicy chicken and beef. They were just ok. I guess I prefer the Argentinian ones more. Anyway, happy to have tried them.

Stepping into this Red Ribbon West Covina is always a treat! Their pastries are absolutely divine - every bite is pure happiness, from the empanada to the perfectly not too sweet treats such as butter mamon and ensaimada. But what truly sets them apart is the wonderful service. The staff always greets you with a warm smile and goes above and beyond to make your visit special. It's truly a delightful experience all around!"

I stopped by this location to pick up some items for an upcoming trip. My beautiful lady is a huge fan of ube and she wanted to try a few of these pastries. I ended up getting two ube mamons, two ube ensaimadas, and a moist chocolate slice. I was here around lunch time but there weren't too many people. The lady behind the counter was friendly and handled my check out quickly. I asked her a question regarding the amount of time the prepackaged patties will remain fresh, and she politely told me 5ish days. Hopefully, they stay fresh when they arrive to their final destination.

Winding down to for last bit of holiday shopping. Some mamons for stocking stuffers and empanadas (hand pies savory) to get me through the afternoon. I do love these empanadas just as much as Cuban empanadas. Filled with chicken and seasoning hits the spot. It's 12/23 and I walked right in during lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Lucky me. Always picking up a little something when I'm around the area. Large parking lot is a plus :)

My first ever red ribbon bakeshop visit from a while ago. Service was friendly and informative. Organized, clean space with tables for a large group hang out. We tried the mango roll cake it was so soft and spongy. Filling wasn't too sweet it had a nice balance of "just right" plenty of parking located in a shopping plaza with other eateries and grocery store. Great little hidden gem when you're wanting a treat.

They let me know all the different desserts and options. They also explained pricing and availability to me. They showed me all the different toppings that they have for not just ice cream and sundaes, but crêpes as well. Considering I walked in here, thinking that this was strictly an ice cream place, they have a very large menu. One thing that I remember very fondly about my visit here was not that there were a lot of people here, but the people that were dining in, they were mostly families with children. That may not seem like an important thing, but to me, seeing that is precious More often than not, you see children, their parents, and even their parents parents. So sometimes you get a small group of people, but really you have three generations. Quality time like that is absolutely precious and to see them so engaged in conversation with one another and laughing the entire time and sharing dessert, that was so awesome. Sharing ice cream with my dad at an ice cream parlor near our home is a very fond memory for me. So I guess that's why I paid attention to this while we died at scoop Street. When I took a moment to take a step back and look at our little family, we also were there in our lil three generational group: me, my kiddo & my Mom. The prices here are more than reasonable. The ice cream that is used for their desserts is from thrifty. The waffle cones are made in house and smell amazing. There really wasn't anything more than I could've asked of this visit to the ice cream shop. This was so special. Servers: Art & Austin

It's considered a "sister store" to Bun Street, which is located right next door. The interior features a clean, old-school shop design with cozy seating and motivational quotes. Friendly young staff but service was slow and inattentive. They primarily serve Thrifty Ice Cream, a classic Southern California brand. The shop's main draw is the funnel cake. The Churro-Chata, topped with horchata ice cream and mini churros is our favorite. Portions are big and shareable. Also, they bake cookies and brownies in-house daily using family recipes to use in their custom ice cream sandwiches and sundaes. Plenty of parking since it's located in a strip mall.

We live local and I don't know why I haven't been in here before but I've been missing out. First, they don't have just churros, they have ice cream, milkshakes and specialty coffees such as café de olla, Americano, cortado, and flat white to name a few. Churros can be ordered as a box set or individually with various topping choices. The churros were made fresh! They came out warm and crispy with that soft center. We also got 2 milkshakes, one Strawberry Scream and one Peanut Butter Mother Flutter, both tasted amazing!! The ambiance gives you a cafe feel with several people opting to eat their treats in house. The place smells amazing so it's easy to want to stay. As for the service, it was also amazing! Everyone was friendly and willing to assist you and answer questions. The cashier explained that she was going to make the churros fresh so there would be a short wait for them to be ready. Ironically, Churro Boss (Covina) offers better quality ice cream than churros. I arrived at Churro Boss (Covina) on Sunday (around 2:35PM). Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Staff speaks English and Spanish. Staff answered all my questions. I ordered the Churro Sundae ($10). This dessert includes one scoop of ice cream and two six inch churros. I selected the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop. The entire dessert was ready in eight minutes and 16 seconds. The dessert arrived picturesque. The Churro Sundae ($10) is attractive and fairly large; however, its taste is underwhelming. Although it felt like the churros were made-to-order in the backroom, the churros tasted bitter, chewy, and overcooked. These churros also lacked sweetness. Rather, these big churros tasted like chunky breadcrumbs. Fortunately, the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop tasted delicious! It had an addictive crumbly texture. The ice cream also carried a chill and creamy chocolate flavor. Regarding ambiance, Churro Boss (Covina) is lackluster. It feels empty. The only seating is one long counter which had splotchy dried stains and crumbs. The location also has no restroom. Customers need to use their bottle of hand sanitizer or napkins if searching to clean their hands. There's two electric wall sockets in the far corner. And steady country music played in the background. Churro Boss (Covina) tries to be be modern and minimalistic. Overall, Churro Boss (Covina) offers tasty ice cream and pleasant service. Unfortunately, its churros are overpriced and somewhat unpleasant. If searching for some tasty ice cream, this location holds potential. 3.5 out of 5
