I've been a loyal customer of Red Ribbon Bakeshop Carson since we moved to the U.S. in 2014. Their chocolate cake has always been our go-to for every special occasion. The staff are consistently kind, welcoming, and professional, which makes every visit even better. My kids absolutely love their lugaw, and the chicken empanada is always a must for us. Ordered their corned beef pan de sandwich, chicken empanadas and ensaimada. Their corned beef sandwich is so boring just corned beef slapped into a sweet pan de sal. There's no mayonnaise nor some lettuce to provide some freshness and crunch. It's so uninspired. You get 2 small sandwiches for $6. They need to revisit their pricing. A 6 pc mamon and 6 pc ensaimada is priced at $30 but their 12 pc family ensaimada is only $24. Their 6 pc ensaimada is $16 but if you want a free mamon "special" the price goes up to $19.14. I could have bought a mamon for $2.50 totaling $18.50. read more

I usually come to Red Ribbon whenever I need a quick pick-up cake, and they never disappoint! My son has had their Chocolate Dedication Cake for every birthday since he was born, so we're guaranteed to come here at least once a year. I really like their Chocolate Cake and Sans Rival, both are delicious and not overly sweet. The Mango Cake is okay, just not my personal favorite. I'm also not a big fan of their Yema or Caramel Cake since I found them a bit on the dry side. Their mamons are SO good, moist, fluffy, and flavorful! I love all the flavors: mocha, ube, butter, and cheese. And if you're here, don't skip their palabok and halo-halo, both are really tasty and perfect as a little extra treat. read more

This review is for the Ube Overload cake slice and Chocolate cake slice. I had high hopes since the photos of each looked mouth-watering, but should have checked the yelp reviews prior to trying. The Ube Overload slice had not enough Ube flavor and the bottom layer of the cake was very dry and crumbly. If there was a bigger cream to cake ratio maybe this would have helped. The Chocolate cake slice did not taste as I had hoped, the part that was disappointing was the chocolate icing since it tastes more like pudding than icing as described in the menu. I'm glad I only ordered the slices to try rather than whole cakes. Maybe some of the other items are better. read more

Quick review of a doordash delivery of 06/27/24 Ordered besides: Palabok Family Platter Extra Chicharon Extra Palabok Sauce Super Value Meal A Cheesy Ensaimada Mango Supreme Slice When I had the Palabok Family Platter on 06/17/24- I noted I'd probably not order- extra Palabok Sauce- I did order extra as you see- but realistically I think it's not needed but extra sauce adds to yummy - especially when the restaurant puts a bit more chicharon as requested. All the desserts were very tasty as well as the Chicken Empanada which was included in Super Value Meal A. Again, as before I didn't experience ambience- because delivery order. However, personally, I frequent this business mainly for their savory options. I love their Chicken Arroz Caldo- a savory and garlicky rice porridge that always hits the spot! They're also more known for their Chicken Empanadas which are hearty and filling. Service is always friendly and welcoming. All their baked and delectable sweet goods are always displayed neatly and beautifully at the front right where you enter. The good: Woohoo! A Filipino bakery! RR is a chain I'm familiar with because they had locations in NorCal as well. It's similar to 85 degrees or Paris Baguette but specifically has desserts with Filipino flavors like young coconut and ube. I wanted a last minute birthday cake that delivered and RR fit the bill! They had lots of 8" cake options for reasonable prices and the flavors weren't boring like vanilla or just chocolate. I got the sans rival cake which is a famous Filipino cake made of cashew meringue. I liked that it wasn't too big, could be stored in the freezer for longer periods of time, wasn't too sweet and was unique. My husband enjoyed it. It was the only sans rival cake we've ever tried but it definitely made me want to try more. The bad: The sans rival cake was saltier than I expected. I think it may have been the butter they used. I think the cake was a bit expensive for the size but I can understand that nuts cost more. The interesting: The sans rival cake reminds me of the consistency of medovik (Russian honey cake). Halo Halo at Red Ribbon is $4.99 and comes with a variety of tasty Filipino ingredients such as sweetened beans, sago and gulaman (agar). They top it off with two scoops of mango ice cream. I found the halo halo to be quite refreshing. I loved that the gave two scoops of mango ice cream. I also liked the that they had a pretty decent mix of ingredients. The staff who is an older woman (prolly on her 50s to 60s) COMPLETELY IGNORED ME AND STARTED YELLING TO THEIR SUPERVISOR in tagalog saying , "Nasaan na si Sir? Dapat sarado na pinto 8:50 na! Sir!!" She repeated yelling several times. I just walked out in disgust. If the bakery closes at 8:50pm update your hours. I always go this branch mornings and everyone is nice. Its a link online print on the receipt so I filled it up honestly and gave all service related 5 star and food 4 stars and price 3 stars. When I submitted the review they immediately looked at it online and the manager asked me how's the food and I replied good but asked why I gave them a low rating of 70 only.
