Horrendous customer service from the e-commerce department. They failed to respond to calls, texts, emails, and online inquiries. After not answering or assisting me, they substituted my item for a larger size and a completely different color without my consent. That is absolutely unacceptable. Customers should never receive a different item than what they paid for. If I have any advice for Red Raider Outfitters, it would be to merge the e-commerce and in-store departments to ensure continuity of service. After nearly 20 attempts over three weeks to contact the e-commerce department, I went in store only to learn that the two departments do not communicate at all. The staff could not answer my questions or process a return. As a result, I was forced to pay for the wrong item and excessive shipping costs because in-store returns are not allowed. I only hope they are able to refund me without some excuse or difficulty. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will not be shopping here or recommending this business. read more

I ordered Christmas items for my grandsons who do not live in Lubbock. since Christmas gifts are to be a surprise they weren't one until Christmas. I ordered on 11/28 and returned some pants that did not fit on 1/3. I initially was told they couldn't help me because it was too late to return. I think the returns should be honored for longer than 30 days. these were ordered online and that also seemed a problem. I finally did get a instore trade. I am grateful for that but if you order for Christmas early it doesn't make sense to not allow at least store credit. I buy a lot from red raider outfitter. read more

I placed an online order and unfortunately , they were out if stock in one of my items, but the staff texted me and then sent me pictures to help choose a replacement item. Service isn't bad, but you just set expectations very low. They have 4 locations, which is good, but not one of those locations has dressing rooms. I'd love to support local, but it speaks volumes that they care so little of their customers to even have dressing rooms. Who does that? Over 90% of their merchandise is clothing, and yet no dressing rooms. Stupid! And for all of the young people saying you should know what size you are, obviously since most of our clothing isn't even made in the USA, everything fits differently...and I'm a curvy girl (thank goodness) so I need try clothes on. They do have a great selection, but I can find most of the same items and be able to try in at The Matador! And the return/exchange policy is better there too. RRO return policy sucks! I'm so sick of there being no fitting rooms! A sales clerk told me I could try it on over my clothes OR buy it, try it on in the PUBLIC RESTROOM (yuck), and exchange it if it didn't fit. They may have the cutest styles and prints, but it's too much of a pain in the rear to shop there. read more

I live in Oklahoma City but come to Lubbock several times a year to visit my family. Stop in at the store on Slide Road nearly every trip to see what's new. The only reason this store gets a "1" instead of a zero is that earlier today I went on a shopping spree at this store and i took off my eyeglasses and left them. Thankfully when i called back later they had my glasses and I decided to come back to collect my eyeglasses and to return some merchandise that hadn't fit me well. So i'm grateful that i got my eyeglasses back. However, the bad customer service totally makes my decision of only giving them a 1/5 rating. First of all they have no dressing room to try there clothes before buying so you have to guestimate how things might look on and buy. I did exactly that. Once i got to my hotel room, I realized my track suit didn't look quite as flattering as I would like it to so when I came back to collect my eyeglasses I brought them back and a iphone case that also was overly priced at $30 and looked quite cheap once applied on iphone. Once in the store I decided to return the track suit and trade it for another one that seemed like it may fit better. Then I debated whether to buy another iphone case. I picked it up. There was only 2 of them when i did so however i decided it still looked cheap and over priced so I put it back from where I grabbed it. Then I went ahead and did the exchange. That's when the manager came up to me and asked me whether I was still taking the iphone case. I explained that I wasn't taking it and that I had put it back. He went to the stand and looked and asked me again whether I had for sure put it back. I patiently said "yes I did". Then I walked out of the store having completed my transaction. Once outside, I noticed a cute pink TTU t-shirt and decided to come back to take a look. That's when I was accosted by the manager and a security guard to open my bags and show them my merchandise. I was then annoyed because I had already told the manager twice that I didn't have the iphone case. Anyways, I had to suffer the humiliation of being searched and of course they didn't find anything because I am no stealer!!! I'm 29 yrs old, with a great job, I make decent money and am quite an independent woman. I bet you, I make way more money than both the manager and security guard!!! I have no need to be stealing petty accessories like iphone cases!!! After that I was in no mood to buy any more merchandise from them, so I rolled my eyes and annoyingly left, like any decent person who's been humiliated and searched would've done!!! Then to top it off, the manager warned me to never come to that store again!!! WTF!!! Seriously, they had no evidence to begin with to search me in the first place. Once I was searched, they still didn't find anything, and on top of that they banished me?!?! I even offered to have them search my purse and person but they didn't dare because I evidently hadn't stolen anything! I even asked the manager why I would dare steal something if they probably had those magnetic alarms?!?! Apparently he said they don't have those magnetic alarms. If that's the case, I suggest they get some that way they don't search innocent people!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!! I'm starting to think that this was a case of racial stereotyping. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour from the manager. I will now most definitely never go back and warn my friends against going to that store. The only reason I gave them a 1 star rating is because I couldn't give them zero.... Their customer service and return policy is horrible. I received a jacket as a Christmas gift that was sized too small and when I finally got the opportunity to go in to try and exchange it for something else, they wouldn't even allow exchanges of their own, unworn merchandise (with tags still attached that they still carry!) for other items in the store since it was outside of some return window (not that it was ever disclosed to me!). Cmon now! I'm not asking for money back, I just want to be able to wear an item my family member dropped over $100 on. Seriously?! Their items are overpriced, the customer service is horrible, and their return policy is the worst I've ever seen (especially after Christmas!). One star for shirts and TTU items only. The "rules" for exchanges and refunds are not acceptable. "Hot Ticket Items" are not marked in the store and these items just "happen to be" not returnable. The receipt says items are refundable for 7 days with receipt. I went back on day 6 with the receipt and the items I purchased just "happen to be" hot ticket items. I asked where that was published, stated, or marked on the merch. and was told it was known in store. This is after Christmas when things which don't fit need to be returned, and I have two t-shirts now that I have to list on Ebay because this store refuses to take the shirts back (when they are still hung in the windows). Red Raider Outfitter used to be THE place to go. It used to be the best price for the best items with the new cool logos and slogans. Now, it is a poorly managed chain which believes it should have a monopoly on TTU apperal, and they get away with terrible prices and customer service because they are "The Official Store of Texas Tech." I went there to look around and to buy a car emblem and t-shirt, well I had my t-shirt in my hand and one of the employees followed me around in the store as if I'm going to steal the damn shirt, and I was looking at car emblems and he just followed me and I was looking at jewelry and some kids clothes I couldn't even enjoy myself in the store, very uncomfortable just staring and watching. This was my 3 rd time there because every time I go there the employees are rude and they follow you like if you're going to steal their shit, honey I promise you I don't need y'all's overpriced Texas Tech shirts. Fortunately my customer service experience wasn't as bad as most of the ones I've read here. I am originally from Lubbock and a Tech alumni. At the time we lived in Oregon. Yes I've tried many shirts on over my existing shirt, it is frustrating. However, one day we were in the store shopping and my husband picked up a $325 golf bag. He was trying to talk me into purchasing it because he really wanted me to have it. I kept telling him I didn't need it and wasn't sure I wanted it. He kept moving it to wherever I was in the store trying to encourage me to buy it. About three customer service clerks followed us around the whole time. Every time he moved an inch they moved an inch. It actually got hilarious because it was so obvious. I guess they thought we were just gonna walk out with the golf bag. Fortunately I decided not to buy the bag and they lost a $325 sale mainly because of their behavior. My husband makes $280K a year as a director at Nike and I guess they thought he looked like he was a homeless person. read more

I don't see why so many people are complaining, because I LOVE Red Raider Outfitter! I think it's fine that they don't have a fitting room, because most people know what size they are in a normal Comfort Colors T-Shirt. As for the other kinds of clothes, I really don't think it's a big deal to just try on at home--you can usually tell right off the bat whether it's going to fit, or what size you need to exchange it for. Everything they carry for women is so cute, and my boyfriend really likes the Men's shirts. I think they are a great local business, and I've always loved the customer service! Horrible customer service! Beware! I went in there looking for a t-shirt. A group of employees having a loud personal conversation where I was browsing. I eventually rolled my eyes at them and they got my drift so they moved to another location (still talking). Meanwhile another employee following me around. Every time I picked up an item she would follow behind me and fix it again. I can't stand shopping an environment where they just can't leave you alone. Very overpriced and I felt very uncomfortable. Whoever runs this place has absolutely no common sense. Texas Tech makes the national championship, so what does Red Raider Outfitter do? They sold their championship shirts at one location today. Just one. And there was a line of 400 plus to get shirts. A person I spoke to said they won't make any more shirts after today, even though they would sell for the next 20 years. The employee also told me that management wouldn't even let them put a sign on the door to let people know. Thousands of students, including myself, are missing out because whoever owns/manages Red Raider Outfitter learned less in business school than you could learn on a YouTube 'how to run a store' DIY video. I concur with other reviews as well that not having a fitting room makes no sense, especially given the space they have. Seriously, Red Raiders deserve a better place to buy merchandise. The fact that your only option to get a national championship shirt is to wait in a 2 hr line when most of us have class. At least keep making the shirts. Terrible customer service! I ordered a jacket for a gift and was sent a message saying it shipped in plenty of time to be here for their birthday. However, once I could not track the item, I began contacting them to ask if it had actually shipped and did not hear a reply. Once I called the store they told me they were "in the process" of contacting me to tell me that the jacket I ordered was out of stock. Their site did not say it was out of stock and no one contacted me to tell me that it was out of stock, they were just going to finally reply to my many emails that I sent to see where the jacket was. We requested the jacket in a different size and they guaranteed next day delivery so it would be here for the birthday. However, it did not arrive the next day and when I called them they would not refund my shipping costs. Said that it was out of their control that UPS did not deliver the jacket the next day. When I explained that it was the store's fault they did not let me know it was out of stock for us to even have to be in the position to overnight it, they did not care and offered no discount, refund or anything reasonable to keep a customer happy. read more

I visited the store on Slide road initially, not the mall location and was very pleasantly surprised! From the other reviews I was hesitant but decided to stop in anyway as they have some really great items on their website. I was greeted promptly at the door. I told the young lady the items I was looking for and she immediately found them for me. They did not have one of the shirts in my size but called the mall location and they held the shirt for pick up. The cashier was very friendly and helpful as well. Went to buy a gift for a friend and The customer service is terrible!!! There were 6 girls behind the counter who are more worried about texting, talking on their phones, and talking bad about their other co-works than taking care of their customers. There were 3 of us in line and one girl went to a register to check us out while the others continued talking. They all looked up at us multiple times in their gossip session and no one offered to help. If you want to give your money to employees who could care less about you shopping there, go for it! 1 star for customer service, a second star because I do like their selection. Took my 3 year old barely potty trained daughter in with me. When I asked if there was a dressing room, from that point on I was watched very closely. When my daughter announced she needed to potty and I asked if she could use their restroom, we were escorted, chaperoned, and watched the rest of our visit. Hate feeling like I am being marked as a potential criminal simply because I want to try on the $80 shirt before I purchase it, and heaven forbid a 3 year old needs to potty while shopping. read more

Poor, poor customer service. First of all - a 7 day return policy is ridiculous - when many people live out of town who shop in Lubbock -- Red Raider fans are far and wide. Many of the items in the store are available through other venues who have better prices and a better return policy. Second, when someone does return an item within 7 days - they are scrutinized and questioned as to why they are returning the item, the receipt is evaluated by 3 different people to make sure it has not been more than 7 days -- and then - and only then - is the customer allowed to return the item. The sales staff also appear to be illogical in their ability to make a decision and provide service. If I bring a sack in to return items - yes - I want to return all the items in the bag - was asked this same question by 3 different sales staff while they conferred on whether I was allowed to return the items. Customer service training is needed. Do not plan to go through this irritation again. Management should be concerned about how this operation is ran... read more
