Best shoe selection in Lubbock. Heck who am I kidding....it's the best ladies shoe selection in the HUB city. They carry a fantastic selection of higher-end shoes like Antonio Melani. This location always has plenty of staff, inventory & like a good Dillards....amazing clearance sales. read more

Dillards made so many mistakes when they downsized the store and moved it to the south end of the mall in Lubbock! Why did they move and Mayr so many changes? I'm 71 and I've been going to the Lubbock Dillards since they openedI knew where everything was located and enjoyed talking to many of the employees that had waited on me. It was nice knowing where the items I wanted to buy were in a specific location. The lighting was nice and felt comfortable. The new Dillards has horrible lighting and it's become a challenge to find the right areas. The selections have been downsized which has been frustrating! The parking is ridiculous now! It use to be easy to find a place to park, depending on what I wanted to buy! I've been to the "new" Dillards 3 times, and I've committed to NOT returning to this store. I'll do my shopping in the smaller stores where it's not a challenge to find what I need or want. read more

It was hard to place a star review because the selection was actually great but the customer service was trash. I was in town from San Angelo, where we have a very nice dillards (although small) with hardly any selection/options in brands. This dillards is quite OLD and desperately needs updated lighting (super dark in there) and some fresh paint but I was thoroughly impressed as soon as I walked in to find a diverse range of brands and brands I really like! Jewelry: here's where I was quite confused and annoyed. The jewelry was all placed inside their turncart with the price tag facing out. I couldn't see ANY of the jewelry, which is a big chunk of my purchase point. I got frustrated even trying after a few mins and left this area. Purses: had a good diverse range of brands and I actually found a few I really liked but didn't purchase (prices are crazy these days). Clothing: as mentioned above - pleased. I found some great jeans. Not many tops but I think that's due to the current cut/fit/style designers are offering these days. Skin care / make up: walked up to hear the Chanel lady trashing another customer who I assume just walked off and not for anything just because she annoyed her by not finding what she was looking for and didn't purchase. I purchased from the Origins counter who also happened to be the lady the Chanel lady was talking crap with, which makes you wonder what was said about you as you stroll off. Fitting rooms: ah the joy of every freaking door being locked. I almost dumped the clothes at an unattended register and left when a girl walked out (first one I saw in the hour I was there) and she told me where the ONE fitting room was that was open. Annoying. Employees: awful, awful, awful. I had to walk around the same registers multiple times to try to find someone to check out. When I finally found a girl she had another employee with her and they were literally just hanging out complaining about their hours next to one of the registers. She didn't great me, say hi, ask if I needed help or anything. I had to ask if I could check out before she turned around. No words other than the total. Hope this helps read more

I went to wear the womans shoes were the sales lady asked me if she could help me finding anything I said I was just looking I found these birkstocks I was looking around still a little bit I had the shoe in my hand the lady asked me wht size I told her she brought them to me she wouldn't even help me open the box or nothing she just stared at me the hole time had a ruff time putting them back in the box and never once said she could help me or anything I believe she needs more customer service training if I wasn't looking for this pair of sandles I would have went somewhere else read more

To shop at this Dillard's you alomst have to have the 'walmart mentaility' of running anybody/everybody over in theparking lot. The Men's Dillards is the only reason I come to the mall and I find myself coming here less and less. The store is often cramped with clothes and the staff isn't always available. All in all, its not too bad if you have alot of time. read more

Went to buy a bedroom suit I liked. There is NEVER anyone working in that department and they NEVER answer the phone. Meanwhile, in the makeup department there are sales people stumbling over each other. Maybe they need to sell only makeup? I finally got someone in furniture and purchased the set. They set a delivery date and time. When they didn't show up, I called again. After ANOHER couple hours of trying to get someone on the phone, they said they were waiting for one item that hadn't come in. They apparently could not be bothered to call me and tell me that. Supposedly it will be delivered today within the next 2 hours. Pardon me if I don't believe that. Then the next question will be how badly is it damaged? Do NOT EVER buy anything but makeup here. I don't know anything about makeup nor do I use it but it appears that is the only place they staff. read more

My first experience at the men's Dillard's department and it will be my last! I understand that it's the holiday season, and stores are busy. However there's no excuse to be rude, and snotty with your customers. I was acknowledged after 10 minutes, or so of waiting to be helped. When I was finally helped I felt rushed, and the associate wasn't listening to anything I was telling her to help with picking out cologne. In which instead of helping me any further, she passed me off to another associate to help me. When I explained what I was looking for, she couldn't seem to help me. So I ended up going with a set that smelled somewhat decent. I'm finally ready to check out, and apparently the first, and second associate were too busy standing around to check me out. So they call over a third associate that gave me the dirtiest look ever, and proceeded to act as if I didn't exist. Not once did she ask if I wanted my almost $100 purchase gift wrapped as she did to the customer before me. I will never give Dillard's my business again, nor will I ever recommend it to friends, and family. read more

I like their clothes but they are a bit overpriced. I only shop at their clearance section where you can find some pretty great deals. I do a lot of window shopping at Dilliard's and if I find something I absolutely love, I take note of it and see if there are better deals online. It's a bit crowded and cramped in some areas of their store. I usually check it out when I go to the mall. It is kind of hit or miss for me. read more

I'm going to stand up for MY Dillards in Lubbock. I like this store and the people. IF you think Macy's (which I Like also) and Nordstrums are better, go look at their men's sportswear selection. Dillards burys them both. I do agree the Lubbock store gets TOO MUCH merchandise but don't complain! Just walk sideways when you must and shop away. The semi annual sales are killer and the regular sales in Men's Tailored are reasonable. A good old company trying to survive the shifty shoppers who look then buy on line. Support your local retail centers sometime. They do it all for you. read more

It's been about a year since my last update. This store really does love Lubbock and takes good care of its customers. Customer service still exists which is challenging in today's retails settings. Men's clothes, especially the suit section, has highly experienced and trained staff. It caters to a wide variety of sizes and ages. The store brands are of high quality. Floors and restrooms still need updated/repaired. I worry about the foot traffic at the mall hurting Dillards. It would be better to have just one store, not two. I do find the furniture really ugly, but others seem to like it. read more

Dillard's was THE place to shop when I was growing up. Now it feels cramped and almost claustrophobic to me. Clerks used to be attentive, now they just look at you when you are browsing. Walked thru several departments looking for clothes, etc, had a single employee ask if they could help me. Sigh...oh, for the good ol' days! read more

I stumbled across the furniture department at Dillard's while looking for bedding. We recently bought new bedroom furniture from Ashley's but delivery was taking forever and kept getting pushed and pushed. I asked the Dillard's associate, Tamra, about their inventory and delivery issues. She said if it was in stock, it would deliver at the end of the week. Shocked and surprised by that, I thought I would look around. I had no idea Dillard's sold furniture and was sad that I didn't know it sooner. I saw lots of great furniture and found a bedroom set that I loved. Tamra checked and it was in stock. At that moment, I decided to buy it and cancel my order at Ashley's. If I could get it in a week and not wait for months, then it was a no-brainer. I was thankful it was in stock and that I accidentally stumbled across this furniture. If you need furniture or if you're tired of waiting, go visit Dillard's in the South Plains Mall, you might just find what you're looking for and get it when they say it would deliver. read more

I was shopping in Dillard's for a gown for an event. I purchased a dress on line from Dillard's but it did not fit the way I wanted it to. So I decided to go to the store to look. I found the perfect dress and I felt it was a great priced. I take it to the register to purchase and was told that they marked it wrong. My first response was that I did not mark it you all did and I wanted it for that price. Needless to say. The sale clerk looked at me like I was crazy and told me that I should have known this price was not correct due to the quality of the material. Well I walked out and will never shop there again. I give Dillard's a lot of business but no more. I believed they should have honored the price as I did not mark it they did and there were other dresses like the one I liked that were marked the same way. read more

Overpriced, small, and rude staff. All the staff talks about is the sales they just made. That is unacceptable when your within earshot of customers. They didn't offer me any help, minus one shoe lady because I was considering buying a nice pare of boots. I do not fall into Dillard's core demographic I'm sure, (white girl with daddy's money sure got a lot of attention though) but I do believe I should be treated like a valued customer. Only redeeming element of this trip was the good looking merchandise. read more
