If they don't have something that you have your eye on, you can connect with them to see if they will order it for you (which they likely will, if they can!) Really flexible hours of operation, open late many nights of the week, and there are constantly events occuring here. They have a fairly large, well-lit, and clean gaming space in the back. The first time I came, I was still fairly new to tabletop gaming so I wasn't sure what to get. I had my eyes set on Agricola but after talking to the associate I realized I wasn't ready for such a heavy euro game just yet. The associate asked us what we liked and then basically went through their entire collection with us, pointing out and explaining various games that he thought would appeal to us. You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia. The store is located in the back of the plaza so it's difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

Then when they don't get what they expect they get upset. Here's the deal. Nobody wants back issues unless they are rare and in very good condition. Your comics are basically worthless to collectors. Buy them to enjoy them. They are not an investment. Stop thinking that stores want to buy your stuff.

I particularly like coming here because you can always find the latest releases, often before they're available for purchase online. I tend to be anticipating releases for months prior, so I really appreciate being able to get them ASAP! The selection is vast and covers a good array of topics, interests and identities. There's what seems to me, admittedly v Anglo, a fairly big French section (and I think some other languages as well) and the kid's section is awesome-I read stuff fairly often that seems to be categorized as YA here. I feel very welcome and catered to as a queer person as well-the selection is super inclusive in this respect! You can also get many zines (lots seem local), manga, and comics here too, if those are more your speed. The employees don't pester you while you're browsing but are always friendly and helpful if you have a question. The current location is also accessible. For me, this is the ideal one stop shop.

I saw graphic t-shirts on sale. What stopped me in my tracks were a ton of plushies. It has a good selection of Squishmallows. If you love Funko Pop figurines, you will find a wall full of them and more. It was impressive. I spent a good chunk of time checking them out. I particularly loved the R2-D2 and C-3PO ones. I was delighted to find Grogu Funko Pops. One was a keychain, which I had to purchase. The other was a larger one by the checkout area, on the top left shelf. It looked amazing. I'm sure it costs and arm and a leg. The man at the checkout was friendly and chatty. I signed up for the newsletter. I'm still waiting to see what that's like. There's supposed to be a rewards system coming up. Nice! My Grogu keychain didn't have any tax on it. Sweet! I love it. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. It was such a small item that I put it in my pocket. I thanked the man and left the store and mall, walking a while to get to my car. I will return to this store. There are some small racks for the weeklies, and a few racks of trade paper backs, and other books. But, this is mostly about buying Funko Pops, and t-shirts, and other things. I took a video of me going through the comics, and waited until Tuesday. I called in advance to make sure he was in, he asked what I had and I told him that information was emailed to him, to which he informed me he hasn't looked at that. Ok, sure undeterred I walk down there with a bag of comics and find no comic shop at the address. I call him and he tells me its 3 blocks west, alright cool no problem. When I get in there and start taking the comics out he asks what I have, and I said the best things I have in here are Spiderman 2099 #1 & 2, to which the comic book guy attitude starts up. I said that's ok if you don't want them, but it's still the best thing in this bunch i have here. He offered me nothing. I did check the price of some of them online, and as a musician who uses the internet for gear- I'm used to seeing those prices and realizing thats not what you'll always get, but I knew some of the stuff did have some value. Here's what would've been great- If he had looked at the email I sent, as instructed by the employee. And if you know what kind of comics you will take, maybe share those guidelines. Some even have great staff. The owner here is probably the nicest comic book/hobby store owner in Toronto, and I have been a customer at pretty much all of them. The off-peak day staff is just as friendly and welcoming, and it honestly amazes me how difficult that is to find with other stores. It's a small store, but it manages to have quite a bit of variety considering the size. Focusing on comics and graphic novels, but a really good selection of toys, and other merchandise considering the size. Usually even for unpopular items, at least a couple are ordered meaning non-regulars and those who want to make an impulse buy still have a chance; but by all means place an order if there's something upcoming that you really want. Frequent sales, fairly regular warehouse sales featuring a great selection of bargain older items, a really fair membership system and more make this a really good store to visit. I look forward to returning there once I am settled back in. It's a store that makes you want to shop there for gifts, and even makes you want to be sure that a certain item is unobtainable there or inexcusably cheaper online before shopping elsewhere. At least when I shopped there, so many of the regulars are friendly, well mannered, and intelligent as well. It was a place I was excited and happy to visit no matter what the day. Also be sure to visit Cybercity at various conventions, especially Anime North. It's perhaps not the place to visit for making unreasonable deal requests on Friday afternoon, but it offers a great selection of warehouse stuff and storefront items for a little less if you're not a store member.

They will be having a Black Friday sale so if you're looking to score a deal, be sure to check it out soon. Now the store could be a bit more organized... but with so many comics, I don't know how else they can improve it. They also have a lot of dust in some of their shelves but the comics are fine.

And, if you don't know, the guys who work there do, and they will make sure you walk away with what you need.
