Do you want to have the best corn dog of your life? If the answer is yes, then you should visit…read moreBob's Espresso. Bob's is bucking the latest health trends and leaning into life's simple pleasures, namely their iconic dipped-meat-stick. In my opinion, their snowy little shack should be named after the dogs themselves, instead of the espresso. They do have a plethora of drinks that you can choose from, but I can't speak on those. I was locked in on the main prize all day, taking down two of these monster dogs. You'll immediately be taken back to a simpler time, maybe at a state fair or your local carnival, which was probably the last time you had one. Your impression of a corn dog is probably that it has too much breading, like a sausage wrapped in a pancake. But no, these are much more dog-forward. The batter is only a thin layer, making for an impeccable crunch on every bite. The inner-dog is flavorful and juicy. My only gripe is the lack of variety in sauces. I've proclaimed many times here that I am a sauce boi, so mustard and ketchup alone will not cut it. A mayo-based sauce would have taken this to the next level as a dog shop. But I can't take away points for that, since this is still the best of my life. A worthwhile stop after a day of hiking, skiing, or shameless indulgence.

It could be a five star ring if people were a little friendlier, but maybe when you walk in, and you're not from there and people look at you like, "what are you doing here?", that could be improved upon. I would go back though, because their food seemed fresh and they even have a little produce section. Also on a different note, there are other parts of the building that I've been in previously, and I think there are rental spaces for office remote work or even just a small event -- it is a very pretty building inside and out

I usually bring a mountain sando, but we didn't have time before heading to Snoqualmie. We got to…read morethis lodge at 10:45. Most food options weren't open but they had soup. We tried to get 2 things on the posted menu , but we're told they weren't available. So we ordered what we thought was two soups for $11.50 each (based on the menu), with a 15% discount the bill came out to $29 and some change. It didn't add up so we asked the lady at the register and she informed us the coconut curry was a rice based dish for $18.25 and the chili was a soup. We were hungry so we paid even though the price still didn't add up. The coconut curry was dissatisfying - bland taste and not much chicken. The chili was reminiscent of wendys so not bad. By 11am the grill still wasn't open and the line was getting very long. After our experience, I'll make time to keep bringing my own mountain sando. The lodge seating was nice.

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service…read more We stopped at Huxdotter Coffee in North Bend on Friday and ordered a 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, a 16 oz Mango Smoothie, and a ham and cheese croissant through the drive-through. At the window, we received the croissant and the 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, but were handed a 12 oz Mango Smoothie. We immediately pointed out that the drink was the wrong size. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and correcting the order, the employee told us that the order had been entered as a 12 oz drink. We reiterated that we had specifically ordered a 16 oz Mango Smoothie. Instead of saying something as simple as, "I'm sorry, we'll remake that for you," we were told that she would have to refund the original charge and then charge us again for the 16 oz drink. Seriously? Apparently, Huxdotter has developed an innovative new approach to customer service: If we make a mistake, the customer gets to fix it. The mistake wasn't ours. We ordered a 16 oz drink, and the employee or the person taking the order entered it incorrectly. Yet instead of taking responsibility for the error and providing the customer service one would reasonably expect, we were essentially given a bureaucratic explanation of why correcting their mistake was going to require additional transactions. We were on our way to an appointment and didn't have time to wait around sorting out an issue that should have taken less than a minute to resolve. We simply said, "Never mind," and left. What is especially disappointing is that this wasn't about the cost of a smoothie. It was about how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. Good businesses acknowledge them, apologize, and make them right. Telling the customer that they have to go through a refund and repurchase process because the business entered the order incorrectly is simply poor customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression that we won't be going back. There are plenty of coffee shops willing to treat their customers better.

If Heaven had a pit stop, it would be Lee's Summit Deli and Grocery…read more I don't know what kind of sorcery they're working with at this gas station mini mart, but I walked in for a quick fill-up and left with a renewed sense of purpose, a heart full of joy, and the best soda of my entire existence. Let's start with the service: From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted like royalty. The cashier didn't just say hello--he beamed at me like I was the long-lost heir to the Lee's Summit throne. Need help finding something? They don't just point--they escort you. I asked where the beef jerky was and got a full guided tour of the snack aisle, complete with flavor recommendations and a brief history of teriyaki. I've had less attentive service at five-star restaurants. Now brace yourself for the soda machine. This isn't a soda machine. This is a carbonated cathedral. A fizzy fountain of dreams. I approached it cautiously, unsure if I was worthy. It glowed like the Ark of the Covenant. There were flavors I didn't even know existed--Peach Vanilla Dr. Pepper? Cherry Lime Sprite? A root beer so rich it could pay off my student loans? And the ice--oh, the ice! Perfectly crunchy, chewable nuggets of frozen bliss. I filled my cup, took a sip, and nearly dropped to my knees. I've tasted vintage wines, artisanal coffees, and hand-pressed juices--but nothing compares to the liquid euphoria that flowed from this machine. The rest of the store? Immaculate. Shelves stocked like a Swiss watch. Bathrooms cleaner than a hospital operating room. And the deli? Don't even get me started. I had a turkey sandwich that made me question every other sandwich I've ever eaten. If you're within 100 miles of Lee's Summit Deli and Grocery, cancel your plans. Drive there. Experience it. Let the soda machine baptize your taste buds and the staff restore your faith in humanity. Five stars isn't enough. I'd give them a constellation.
