Pre-ordered Chestnut crème Chinese New Year cake. There are strawberries in the back that are hard to see. Delicious cake and great service!

They have decent selection for bread. Price is a little bit higher than I expected. There are few tables if you want to sit down. They also have hot/cold drinks like tea/coffee. Parking is on road or side street.

Disgusting plastic flavor soymilk, don't buy it!

The soymilk is disgusting, come with plastic burn flavor. Be aware of it! Don't order to waste your money!!

BBQ Bun is fresh and tasty. Could be 4star if the dough/meat ratio increases

Prices have gone up significantly. A standard sized moon cake for $12! Quality bakery.

Red Lotus Bakery & Cafe is a spot that my friend frequents and enjoys. We happened to be in the area when she wanted to stop by to get her boyfriend some milk tea so I decided to check it out while we were there. The bakery was amazing with plenty of fresh baked pastries when we came on a Saturday morning. Everything was individually packaged for safely. There was a wide selection of goodies to pick from. We already had lunch plans but I wanted to just try something while we were there. I decided to try their cute little Curry Dumpling ($2.00) pastry. It was little in size but packed with flavors. The exterior had the curry flavor with a very butter and crispy crust while the interior had the curry flavor but with some complimentary sweet onions. Yumm! Service was also super efficient and welcoming. They were so nice I would frequent this bakery if I lived in the area. Glad I was able to experience it!

My dad brought home some assorted pastries from this place and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure what they all are, but they were all excellent. The yellow cake is very moist, the pineapple cake was great, and the matcha salted egg yolk pastry was also interesting. If I were in the area, I'd definitely stop by for these.

We visited Red Lotus Bakery & Cafe after seeing its poster of various pastry selections since my husband is a super fan of Hong Kong style bakery. The decor is authentic, clean and narrow-spaced with only 2 indoor dining tables available. We got 2 Pineapple Buns, a Taro Bun and a box of Pork Floss cake with Mayonnaise. The price is overall reasonable with proper portion. The buns were overall delicious and filled with plenty of flavorful fillings. However, the cake wasn't as delicate as what we expected, so we won't recommend it.

Strawberry shortcake cake (macarons removed) -- 8" = $38

My visit was a rare but positive instance of a paper coupon bringing me in. Needing to bring a cake to a small get together, the coupon for 10% off a cake really spoke to me. Plus, I remember the days of fluffy fruit cakes at family gatherings, so this type of cake seemed perfect for the hot summer day upon us. There's a case of cakes directly to the right after you enter. Prices are nice and visible. Then you walk through an aisle of other baked goods. I've seen bigger selections, but I was very satisfied with my pork bun and corn dog (seemed more like a hot dog in a baked pastry). The cake really took the cake (ha). The presentation was lovely, and the fluffiness is still being raved about. We got the 8" strawberry shortcake for $38; RLB also threw in a birthday sign, plastic cake cutter, and two candles. Nice touch! I'd definitely come back here for a cake! They have many other flavors to choose from, too.

Pretty good Asian Bakery right on Northern Blvd. You get a tray and tongs and you grab what you want. Similar to Fay Day if you have ever been there. I usually get the pork filled buns. They have the hot ones as well. There's drinks and other hot stuff behind the counter but I was kind of in a rush so I just wanted something quick to go. A little pricier than normal I thought but that might be because of the location. I'll be back when I'm in the area again.

They make delicious breads and bread products. The Asian sweet buns (with coconut, cream....), as well as their savory buns(pork) are excellent. It's soft and tasty. Fresh, Even over night! Each item is individually wrapped.

Chinese Milk Bread
Cynthia Y.

I needed Chinese Milk Bread and Red Lotus was the closest Chinese bakery by me according to Yelp. They are located on Northern Blvd, a few blocks over from Little Neck Pkwy. It's street parking only, and you will be really lucky if you can find a spot out front, but I usually park at the McDonald's and walk over. Red Lotus is your typical Chinese bakery but their selection is small and buns get sold out early. They also have large cakes and some individual desserts. There were only 2 packs of milk bread left at 2pm, the traditional milk bread felt a bit hard so I had to go with another type of milk bread, I mean I had no choice. I also couldn't pass up a bolo bao and grabbed one of those too. Not sure if it was too hot or if the bolo baos were old but there was no crispy, buttery, and sugary cracked crust on top. The texture was weird and like flaking off and sticking to the wrapper. Prices here are slightly higher than the Chinese bakeries in Flushing and quality is not as good. I would only come here for convenience.

Apparently after 7 PM, Tous Les Jours offers 30% off, which immediately turned my casual stop into a full-on "let me try everything that catches my eye" moment. This Hyde Park location has such a soft, cozy neighborhood energy to it. It was pretty quiet when I went -- just me and one other person -- but honestly, that made it feel even more peaceful. Nestled right on Union Turnpike near a bunch of restaurants, it's the perfect little dessert stop after dinner, or honestly just a place to wander into when you need comfort in carb form. What I love about Tous Les Jours in general is how beautifully they blend French-style baking with East Asian flavors and textures. Everything feels lighter, fluffier, less overwhelmingly sweet than traditional American bakeries. Their cakes especially are heavenly -- airy, delicate, almost cloud-like. I had one for Mother's Day before and I'm still thinking about it. This visit, I decided to branch out from my usual favorites. Normally I go for something classic and simple, but this time I grabbed a croissant-croquette style pastry, a Portuguese egg tart, and the garlic cream cheese bread. The garlic cream cheese ended up being the standout for me -- savory, creamy, warm, comforting... basically the pastry equivalent of a hug. And the Portuguese egg tart? Buttery, silky, perfectly flaky. Absolutely no notes. My longtime favorite is still the pink cream bread that comes individually wrapped. If you know, you know. I also appreciate that they truly have something for every craving: sweet, savory, somewhere in-between, or even breads to take home for later. It's the kind of bakery where you walk in for "one thing" and leave balancing three boxes and zero regrets. The staff was super friendly, and they have a rewards program which makes repeat visits even more dangerous for my wallet. Now, one tiny thing: I was a little disappointed that my pastries were packed into a thin plastic takeout bag instead of a sturdier bakery box or paper bag. It felt a little grocery-store-produce-core for such beautiful pastries. But honestly, I get it -- businesses are trying to manage costs, and it didn't take away from the quality of the food itself. One thing I really hope to see in the future are more halal, kosher, or gluten-free options. This area has such a diverse community, and it would be amazing if even more people could enjoy these pastries comfortably. Overall, this spot gives me that same comforting bakery feeling I love in Flushing and Queens, just with its own quieter neighborhood charm. Soft cakes, flaky pastries, warm bread, gentle sweetness -- it's the kind of place that makes an ordinary evening feel a little more special. Definitely becoming one of my regular after-work comfort stops.

I actually met the owner a few years back when they first opened, and they were just as friendly and welcoming then as the vibe still feels now. The shop was super clean, fresh, and calm with very Sabrina Carpenter energy -- cute, cozy, and aesthetic without trying too hard. There was only one employee working when I went, but everything still moved smoothly thanks to the self-service kiosks, which made ordering easy. I tried the egg sandwich along with a latte made with almond milk (just note there is a small surcharge for almond milk). Everything tasted fresh and was packaged really well, especially the sandwich being wrapped up nicely since I was taking it on the road. One little tip: if you order a layered drink or something with toppings, ask if you can shake it yourself before the employee does it. Mine looked so pretty before it got shaken up for me, and I would've loved a quick picture first! The employee was very sweet though and overall the service was great. Definitely a solid morning stop in New Hyde Park and I'll be back again.

The store space was small and most people took the food to go. there was one table with 2 chairs for anyone who wants to dine in and no full-size garbage can inside or outside of the store. There was a pencil holder on the counter where you order food that was being used as a garbage can which I found a bit odd. I got a passionfruit green tea, taro milk tea, and matcha bubble tea along with a scallion croffie that was delicious.

I thought that the mango pomelo might have coconut milk or some other sort of dairy inside, so we opted to remove the cheese foam, but it became just a regular slush.
