I highly recommend if you're looking for a free space for a birthday party, baby shower, engagement party, etc. After an unsuccessful search for a venue, a friend told me to try Red Lobster. I was surprised to find out that there was no charge to reserve the dining area at the front of the restaurant. It was super easy to get an appointment with the manager (Nick) to discuss the date, time and menu. You can bring your own decorations but confetti is not allowed. The day of our event went well. The manager on duty and staff were friendly and attentive. Our food arrived hot and was delicious. Cocktails were on point. This will be my new happy hour spot. This is the oldest Red Lobster in America. It has been in the same spot over 50 years. Management and staff are doing an amazing job ensuring this location maintains its historic status. read more

The service was atrocious! At one point I had to go back into the employees only area of the kitchen to ask for two tater sauces and one butter. You would think that someone would jump right on this and get what we needed. It was a while before they brought out one tartar sauce, and that was all. Even though I had given them my waitresses name. Someone else brought it to the table. When the food arrived, it looked delicious. However my baked potato was very underdone. There was no extra butter. The hush puppies were delicious. Two others in our party ordered platters and they look good. There are some things missing from the menu that used to be on it like stuffed flounder, and fried scallops. The only way to get scallops now is in an appetizer. They usually delicious biscuits that came to the table were a tad under done. We never asked for more. Finally, some manager came around, but she started yelling at the servers about the customers have no drinks, they have no food. They need to have food on the table. When you come out, look around and see if their glasses need to be filled. She said this in a very loud voice so the customers knew there was an issue. We made online reservations for 7 for 11:30 for an Office Lunch BDAY celebration. The hostess could not find it, but they seated us anyway. The Lunch Prices are higher, but the portions are smaller. Also, it only comes with 1 side, and not salad anymore. The flounder was fried extremely hard. We could not get it grilled anymore. (The Sailor's Platter) .... The biscuits were very hard and not fresh at all. We were very disappointed. The server was great! My wife and I loved the snow crab legs at Red Lobster. On our last visit we ordered same one and a half pounds of snow crab, just like at each of our previous visits. When the crab was delivered it had a terrible odor and was covered in a brown looking sauce. When I asked the waiter he said this is what is served as crab legs. We paid the check and left without eating and this is our last visit to Red Lobster. I wrote Red Lobster a day later and never got a reply. The food for the main course was good, but the premium sizde- asparagus- was highly overpriced. $4.99 for some very skinny pieces of asparagus, and a small quantity. Definitely not worth the $4.99. Service wise- we got a new server who was very nice, but very untrained. He ordered the wrong thing off the menu, felt uncomfortable pouring a glass of wine, and overcharged us on our bill. I ordered 2 meals with a Monday special for takeout. The food was excellent, but they only gave us one of the two meals. We called when we got home and saw one meal was missing. The staff knew this had happened. I was told that we should call back the following day. The service is awful. We got into this establishment today at 4:45 PM. We did not get served our food until about 7:30. We placed our orders about 6 o'clock they did not arrive until about 7:30. The manager was going around the tables apologizing for having taken so long due to them being overwhelmed with a seafood boil she offered a 10% discount. upon the food, arriving all three had incorrect items. I haven't been to Red Lobster for many years and to say I enjoyed my meal would be quite a stretch. The tasty biscuits that they used to serve were tasteless and dried out, the New England Clam Chowder was very thin instead of thick and creamy and the Caesar Salad looked more like coleslaw because it was swimming in dressing. Walt's Shrimp was over cooked or reheated. Our waiter was very attentive because we were almost the only ones there. The inside hasn't been updated for years and certainly could use one. Disappointed to say the least. We all ordered the lunch special for $14.99 thinking it came with soup and salad. However when we got our bills, we were charged for the soup and salad for a total of $25.77 because we read the description wrong. We came around 5:30pm and it was still busy but we were seated quickly. The section we were sat in was near the bar and it's my favorite place sit. Christmas Day dining options in Tallahassee are sparse. Waffle House, IHOP, Hooters, several sushi Asian restaurants and Red Lobster were on the roster. We hadn't been to a Red Lobster in many years. The parking lot was full when we arrived for our 2pm reservation. Inside the lobby was overflowing with patrons. Luckily we had a reservation as the wait for walkin diners was 1 1/2 hours. We were seated in a few minutes and were surprised to see 1/3 of the dining room tables out of service. Our server noted a a lot of the college kids had apparently gone home for the holiday and were no show. The few servers on the floor were stretched thin. Our server took our cocktail orders and delivered some Cheddar biscuits - they're still delicious! Our cocktails were slowly being made (the bartender was also waiting on tables. After 15 minutes, I noticed them sitting on the bar counter so I went over and served them myself. Our server came to take our entree orders. We wanted the crab dip appetizer but they were out of it. Two of us ordered Lobster combo platters - one Maine tail and one Caribbean tail. With sides. The other diner ordered a combo platter of fried shrimp, clam strips, scallops and fish fillet. This was truly leisurely dining as it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to receive our entrees. Fortunately, we were in a festive frame of mind and understood why our server was stretched thin and the kitchen was in the weeds. The lobster tails were small and overcooked- delicious but chewy. The fried combo platter was a bunch of heavily breaded small seafood. We generously tipped our server as she'd been so apologetic the entire time. It has been ages since we visited the restaurant, which are famous for those cheese biscuits! We met up with a few friends whom we hadn't seen in a while, and Red Lobster was a convenient place for them. We had a great time fellowshipping, and the food was good, especially the biscuits. :-). The one complaint I had was regarding the fried calamari, which was way too salty for me, but the order was sent back with no problem. We also had stuffed seafood mushrooms and lobster-artichoke dip for appetizers (which we shared). For my entree, I ordered the Salmon New Orleans with a Caesar side salad. My husband ordered the clams with the creamy lobster baked potato and broccoli. The meal was even more pleasant due to the best waiter ever!!! I don't know where to start! Worse food and experience ever! Ordered the Surf & Turf and it was cold and yet over cooked not warm or cool, but cold. I sent the meal back and told the waitress how bad it was! She disappeared and that was it! After a half an hour she finally asked my son in law if he wanted more shrimp, since he did order the unlimited shrimp dish! Tables remained dirty for over an hour and to top it off, we received plastic silverware because there was none clean but she'll try to find me a knife somewhere!!! None of our food was hot , it was warm at best! It was a miserable time. We even had to demand our ticket because our waitress was hiding from us. We live in Avon Indiana and travel to Florida every year. Last night we just didn't want fast food so we decided to try Red Lobster. (We visited our local one for the final time after having yet another bad experience). We were apprehensive thinking it would be as bad as our local Indiana store. IT WAS AMAZING. Seriously. Steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Coconut shrimp was hot fresh and crunchy. Scallops and flounder cooked perfectly. Our waitress, hostess, table, everything was pleasant and refreshing. When the server asked if she could do anything else for us I said "yes. My friend arrived early to a nearly empty restaurant where the staff did not even notice she had come in. She stood there waiting for nearly 5 minutes, even though she was standing right in front of them staff ignored her.The new girls working there had no one supervising them so there were many mistakes made by a first timer. Most restaurants thoroughly train fisrt timers being that the restaurant was nearly empty this would have been the perfect time to implement training. The food is average at best. Red Lobster is one of those chains that you expect consistency. We were there on Christmas Eve for lunch and the place was almost empty. Because of Covid their business is off 80%. While I try to support locally owned places, someone else chose this location. I think the reason was for the cheddar biscuits. Roy was our server and he has been there a long time and his experience shows. I absolutely love good servers and tip them generously, especially during this pandemic. My wife enjoys the grilled trout usually. Tonight she was in the mood for snow crab legs which usually works out for me having the crab bodies and claws to take home and pick the meat for making crab cakes. This time I decided to pick out the meat there so I would be taking home just the crab meat. It never made it home because it was just so delicious I had to finish it. Was told they are washing it. This is what we got while waiting for them to "roll new silverware". Not the waitress fault. That is on management for not planning on what presumably should be one of the busiest nights. Seated for one hour with no food but salad and bread. Restaurant is less than half full. Dined at Red Lobster last night for the first time in years. We opted to eat at the bar as the wait time for a table for 2 was 30-40 minutes. Service started out very slow. We must have sat for at least 10 minutes without even an acknowledgment from any of the bar staff. Once we were addressed, the service warmed up but it was painfully obvious that the bar staff was overwhelmed with drink orders from the restaurant, to go orders, and diners choosing to eat at the bar. We started our meal with one of their new tasting plates, splitting the Yucatán Shrimp. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor in this dish but with only two shrimp, it left me wishing I had more. It was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. This would be a great addition to the appetizer menu with a larger portion. The Caesar salads were meh. There was barely a drop of dressing on either salad. The cheddar bay biscuits however, made up for that. I swear that's one of the only reason I keep going back to red lobster. :-) My husband ordered the new Dragon Shrimp dish. The shrimp was fried in a fluffy light batter and included broccoli served over rice. I enjoyed the flavor of the dragon sauce but it was a bit to sweet for my hubby. I choose the Southwest style tacos with Lobster. The presentation was nice but the jalapeño ranch sauce completely over powered the dish. Its a shame because without it, I probably would have really enjoyed the dish, but unfortunately that is all I could taste. I would not order this again. Overall this was a hit and miss experience but getting out with my lovely husband is always great. And no matter what, I'll be back eventually for those biscuits. read more

It took more than a hour. They closed the kitchen for 10-20 minutes because they kept taking online orders. it was like a loop, couldn't even get the food from it (This was valentines). They also made it so that reservations got ahead of you even if the person who ordered irl, stayed for more than a hour. I really wanted to try Red but this just made me feel annoyed. I do not support the argument that chain restaurants cannot be good. If that were the case then how do you explain Red Lobster? Granted it is not the best seafood on the planet, but it is good seafood and even more importantly reliable seafood. What you see in the menu pictures is what you get on your plate, and I love that. Nothing like some food establishments where you see a picture of a taco as stuffed as a piñata with goodies, but in reality you are handed a wet diaper wrapped in paper. Furthermore, I consistently receive good service and am made to feel at home in this establishment. For example, on my most recent trip I attended this fine establishment to celebrate a close friend's birthday. He and I both agreed that this is the kind of place to have birthdays because as mentioned before the food is reliable making it optimal to suit a variety of tastes, and the staff contribute to the celebration. Our server, Matt was his name, was a good sport and let us all know we were in charge by repeatedly calling us "boss." Sometimes "chief." Point is he was friendly and made my friend feel special. Even went as far as to alter the free birthday desert to be lactose free. A quick note on the food. I ordered the 4 course feast, which is only available Monday-Thursday and it is truly a reason to go out for dinner mid-week. Started out with the clam chowder. Followed that up with a salad. Both of these items were pretty average to be honest, but I still loved them. The wood grilled shrimp were cooked perfectly, of a great size, and as bountiful as the fish in the sea. The sides were my least favorite part of the meal. The baked potato was a petite at best. Certainly not a feast. The rice pilaf was very undercooked and too crunchy to enjoy. Finally, the desert was a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Definitely a fan favorite and icing on the metaphorical birthday cake if you will. In summary, I never find myself disappointed at Red Lobster. The dining experience doesn't drastically change my life, but it certainly makes it a little bit better each time I go.
