Another fantastic Waffle House experience-- just what we're accustomed to! Employees were all chipper and efficient. We hit it at a good time (2pm) so the place was nearly empty and we got served super duper fast! Food was delicious. They added a blueberry nougat for the waffles. I highly recommend it! Yum! Okay, I was so hungry. It was raining so hard in Tallahassee. I had to make a pit stop with Old Faithful. You can't go wrong with Waffle House Big Slam Breakfast. Breakfast can be enjoyed anytime if the day. This Waffle House is located on N Monroe street. I walked in and was immediately greeted by 2 friendly faces. There was only one other person dining in. The restaurant was clean and has a cool oldies jukebox. However, I decided to take my order to go. I got the Big Slam Breakfast which includes a Waffle, Grits with Cheese, Bacon, Eggs & Toast. I know this was too much for me to eat. But I was feeling real good about my chances. My order was up quickly. Totally was $18. Inflation & cost of Eggs‍. We gotta eat, right. I get to my hotel. Shower and settle down to eat. 1. The bacon was crisp just as I requested. It wasn't burnt. 2. Grits cooked Smoothly. Cheese added extra flavor. 3. Scrambled eggs needed salt but that was an easy fix. I was saving the waffle for breakfast but forget it the next morning. I know folks give Waffle House a bad rap . I came into the Waffle House at 8:48 a.m. on January 26th, 2025, I sat at the bar waiting for a waitress; only the cooks were up front. A waitress came out from the back and said they were in the process of wiping down the bar, so I could sit anywhere else. (Only two booths were occupied.) I chose a booth, and it was dirty, so she got another waitress since it was her area. The other waitress came out as if she did not want to clean the table or wait on me. This particular Waffle House is located next to a Baymont Inn and Suites and just off of Interstate 10 in Tallahassee, Florida on Monroe Street. It was a convenient place to stop on this foggy Thursday morning and the server had a smile to greet me upon my entering. There is nothing fancy about Waffle House. But to me, that is a positive. Certain places and certain times you crave a home-like atmosphere. Breakfast on the road is often one of those times. This particular Waffle House definitely delivers that home type feel. Waffle House has become an iconic part of the landscape of the southeastern United States. These yellow neon lit buildings have fed countless road weary travelers, families with laughing children in tow, late night revelers and people from every walk of life. This location was not overly crowded, though I would expect it to get busier as Tallahassee wakes up a bit more and starts its motions of the daily grind and machinations of the day to day minutia My go to choices are either the patty melt or one of their egg and meat breakfast options. But for me the big allure here has always been their hash browns. You can get the hash browns topped with a variety of toppings, you can't go wrong with chili and cheese, but really it is whatever talk to your heart. I guess you might find it odd that I have never had the waffles at a business where waffle is in their very name of the business but I am just not into the sweet type breakfasts. First, this is not my first Waffle House experience in town. Tallahassee is known for it's southern hospitality within North Florida. I had the pleasure of craving great breakfast food and the debate within my mind was between IHOP, Denny's, and Waffle House. Needless to say, Waffle House was my impulse selection. Not discrediting IHOP and Denny's in anyway shape or form. As soon as arrived at Waffle House, I was greeted by the hostess and I already made up my mind on where I wanted to sit. In my experience with Waffle House, you're able to select your seating arrangements (major plus). I decided to sit at the bar area because I was eating for a party of one (Me, Myself, and I). The best part of eating alone is you get to absorb the entire experience with no distractions, and let the good times roll. My server's name was Anna and she greeted me with a "Good Morning" and allowed me to look over the menu to make my selection. I already knew the experience was going to be amazing by giving me time to decide on what I wanted to eat without the pressure of asking "Are you ready to order?" look. Yes, you know what I am talking about. I decided to order the All Star Breakfast with bacon done well, eggs sunny side up (done well on bottom), raisin bread with apple butter, coffee, and water to drink. My food was cooked by Ronne, and he made sure my food was cooked to my expectations without any mistakes. Ronne even showed me my eggs before it was placed on my plate. I was left with a wow look on my face. I did not expect this kind of "above and beyond" experience at Waffle House. Furthermore, another server named Jordan came by and made sure if everything was great within 5 minutes from when my food was delivered. Talk about great team work. As they say: "Teamwork makes the Dream Work", and this is the definite truth. The manager Jennifer did a great job calling out the orders for the guests and confirmed orders with the service staff. I can't wait to come back and have this wonderful experience again. I highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been around Tallahassee, traveling thru Tallahassee, or the adventurous locals. Basic I-10 Waffle House. Clean, very cold. If anybody happens to go there and use the men's room make sure to first be aware of the strange faucet that is coming out of the sink. This is my favorite waffle I have ever been to. Food is great and customer service is just as wonderful. We came here for breakfast. The kids and I shared a huge order of covered and chicken hash browns with sausage egg and cheese biscuit while the hubby had a waffle with a egg and cheese sandwich. Service was fast and friendly; however, I took away 2 stars because 3 of the 5 staff were not wearing masks or wore them improperly (noses uncovered) while preparing food; plus they were allowing people to enter while unmasked. This location needs to do a lot better regarding COVID-19 precautions. Omlet so greasy and full of oil that had I squeezed it like a sponge, I could have drained out at least 3 tablespoons of oil. So oily that the omelet was a sick grey color. Waffles were too thin and over-cooked. Waffle House can be a great restaurant, but this particular location is in sore need of new management. The restaurant was filthy, and the server had no personality to speak of. Let's face it. When you work for tips, please remember that if you treat your customers poorly, you will not GET PAID! I'm surprised this place had poor ratings. I went here 3 days ago and I still smile when I think about how great it was. My sister and I drove up from Orlando and since I'm visiting from Texas I wanted some good southern lovin'. We were seated right away, the waitress spoke to us almost immediately (we sat at the counter) and I was amazed at the rhythm and communication of the staff in the kitchen. One lady would burst out in song occasionally as the others worked with her to make the rush of orders seem like nothing. The food was awesome, I especially loved my grits! We never had to ask for coffee refills and the whole visit was very pleasant. Convenient to our hotel and a great atmosphere, even though the Seminoles beat Miami, all the fans seemed pleased with this place. Kudos to the staff and management. read more

I had not been to a Waffle House for yearsss prior to this visit. It happened to be in the parking lot of the hotel we were staying at for FSU graduation weekend. Well my dad decided he wanted to have breakfast here the next morning for old time sakes as we used to come here during road trips when I was younger. Walking in alone I was hit with nostalgia and younger memories. I was a little surprised looking at the menu though maybe it was always this small but I was surprised there wasn't more options, particularly more flavors for waffles. Well I opted for the pecan waffle and I'm glad I did the pecans were cooked deep into the waffle and with added syrup on top it was honestly comfort food hitting home. They had multiple other classic breakfast plates and sides. Service was very prompt and helpful. My image of Waffle House had gone down over the years, but this visit really brought it back up again. read more

This Waffle House is probably the best Waffle House I have been to. I went here late at night around 2:30 in the morning with friends. We had just gotten out of a club and we were hungry. We wanted Taco Bell but it was closed so we went to Waffle House. Best decision ever! The atmosphere was great. The staff was great. They were so positive and energetic. The service was great and so was the food. Some of staff were playing music and even sang with us while doing their jobs. They made a simple food experience to something that I will remember because it was fun! I was laughing and having fun while enjoying my food. This Waffle House is getting a 5 star rating and big kudos from me for the experience I had on Saturday, September 3rd in the aftermath of the hurricane. Because of the power outage, most every establishment in Tallahassee was closed. After driving around for quite awhile in search of hot food, I happened upon Waffle House and the many,many, many people who were waiting in line with the same objective as mine. Once in and seated, the service was quick and friendly and breakfast was GREAT! The atmosphere was actually festive- the big staff, squeezed into the narrow space behind the counters was working their tail off with good humor and lots of laughs, the regional manager was washing dishes, the restaurant manager was flipping pancakes...it really was a wonderful example of a community coming together in a time of crisis. All things remaining equal, this is the most poorly run Waffle House I've ever had to endure. I stop by a few times a month for the cheap food, but management has no idea how to run a resteraunt. I've been in where a shift is changing and the old shift leaves because their "time is up" even though the next shift hasn't arrived, essentially shutting down a full resteraunt while it was full for 45 mins!!! I've heard the manager, a young man, curse at patrons and employees (I believe his name was Hassan) and employees just not show up, resulting in my sitting there for 30+ mins while the cook scrambles to find someone to work. read more

I am not a fan of Waffle House. That being said, I was super impressed with the staff at this location. They kicked ass!!! My husband and I sat at the bar so we had the opportunity to watch everything that was going on. All of the staff were very nice, and they worked so well together. This is the best meal we've ever had at a Waffle House. The bacon is fresh and perfectly cooked. The grits are delicious. The hashbrowns are just right - not too greasy & perfectly crispy.
