Ordered the new seafood boil for curbside pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 12th during lunch time. I must say, their curbside wait time had greatly improved. The RL signature butter sauce for the boil was delicious and tasty. The concern is the price charged for the inadequate quantity. I cost was $48.50 for a very meager portion of shrimp (less than 12) and crab claws broken off of a whole claw to place only 4 pieces in the bag. The portion received is what you'd pay no more than 25-30 dollars for a seafood boil bag at other seafood restaurants. Disappointed in Red Lobster skimping on the cost -vs- quantity. read more

It has been a while since choosing to dine at a red lobster but since the new CEO I was hoping things had improved and while the menu certainly has, the service at this location was absolutely abysmal. It took about 8 minutes to even find someone to seat me and my partner after entering, our server did not greet us and barely introduced himself just a quick wave to the table and a "What do you want?". After ordering just an appetizer it did not arrive for over 45 minutes on a Tuesday with minimal customers and I ultimately chose to leave due to the lack of service and wait time. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. It's not the way I remember it the last time I ate there. Just awful everything was cooked in old grease, There is nothing worse In taste and bad for you! The batter on the Calamari was tasteless. The stuffed mushroom seemed to have shrunk considerably since the last time I ordered them. Very tiny mushrooms and mostly stuffing. What a waste of money, For the price they charge I would have rather eaten at Captain D's. Lobster mashed potatoes were very salty. The steak and cheese biscuits were OK, The coleslaw looked and tasted awful and the portion was very small. The curbside pick-up was in the back in a dark corner with no lighting you could not even see the sign very dangerous at night. RedLobster USUALLY has delicious food at decent price with good service. Montogmery Red Lobster is very disappointing. I've been here twice ( if it's open) to dine both times were displeased. Service is slow and subpar. The hostesses and Servers(high turnover rate) normally do not have "basic" people skills. The restaurant can stand a good cleaning and redecorating. The manager is no where to be found. Good luck with touching a table EVEN when requested. Bartenders are usually top notch and takeout is good for small orders, so at least one star is earned. On my most recent visit I ordered an appetizer and entree. To be fair There was a party in the back but restaurant was at best 40% full. The appetizer came out then 5 minutes later my entree with no side. I asked waitress after 20 minutes for the baked potato she says oh I was going to bring it you. I didn't forget. I was thinking why not just hold the entree while I finish the appetizer but okay no big deal. She comes back and says baked potatoes are in the oven with 45 minutes left. She offered a substitution. I requested side Caesar salad. She said no it's an up-charge. We have mashed potatoes it's the same thing. I said no it's not and she was disappointed that I said no it's not and mumbles. I said I don't need anything else, just my check please. she says I'm not taking off the side it's included with entree. I was NOW finishing my last bite and she hands me a shared electronic POS for payment. All the dishes are still on table. She comes back saying I have a potato for you. It's on a saucer not take out and it's undercooked. It's hard as rock in the center. I get up ask hostess for manager. No manager appears. Store is Now about 35% occupancy. I pay and leave. The hostess, server, and manager are at the front behaving like they're in high school chatting and pointing at me. Take out and bar only at this Red lobster in Montgomery if you must have Red Lobster. Go to Captain Dee's and carry out biscuits from Red Lobster. What a terrible location. Tried to go there over the last few days, while returning home from road trip. We're always a fan of Red Lobster for the seafood that they do offer in areas where seafood local restaurants typically do not exist or offer fresh (not fried) entrees. Our first red flag, the hostess didn't even look up when we arrived and said 2 words "here you go" Another was 2 persons in the waiting area, Who were waiting for carry out orders, visible frustrated about the time for food to be ready for online orders. We sat for a good 10 minutes without anyone approaching our table at all ( no greeting, no "hey I'll be right over", no drink order) We did observe the manager come out to another table across the dining room to speak with another dissatisfied patron. I said to my wife , let's give it 5 more minutes then we'll leave. I set my timer on my phone. She said ok and went to use the bathroom to wash her hands. When she returned I told her I observed 3 servers in the time she had been gone. 1) hard working female server covering 4 of the 8 occupied tables 2) a young female server come out to the servers station to grab some supplies then disappear 3) a young male server "hiding" near the door to the kitchen, unclear what he was doing We got up and walked towards the exit. No one approached us, my wife remarked she could see the manager sitting down at a table in the back eating dinner. I said to the hostess, " we're leaving and not coming back" She didn't even lift her gaze from her cell phone. We warned two families with young children in the parking lot that had just arrived, as we were walking to our car. We said, " Just be aware if you don't have a lot of time to wait or the kids are really hungry, you might want to go somewhere else. We had been seated and waited for 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. Unfortunately no one ever did, so we left." We also observed one of the customers , who had been waiting for an online order when we arrived, finally making it to her van with her carry out bags, nearly 20 minutes after our arrival. Unsure how long in total it took to get her food. So we were disappointed not being able to enjoy our Red Lobster favorites, including Live Maine lobsters. We saved our money and found a nice place in nearby Wetumpka instead. Recommendations to franchise owner 1) Find new management 2) Find new servers 3) Clean the entire restaurant, it smells musty with ceiling tile discoloration and lots of dirt and grime everywhere. Wish I could give it zero stars. The toilets in the restroom were badly soiled. Nothing done after I reported the filth. The food was no better. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce looked and tasted like it was made with flour and water. The only redeeming part was my Server. She was polite and attentive. I came here with my wife and family after my wife's naturalization ceremony. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. After being seated, our waitress (Carmelia) was extremely friendly and service was prompt. Our meal was tasted very good, and Carmelia checked on us frequently. The real topper was that she brought out an ice cream for my wife with Congratulations written on the plate, which was totally unexpected. The food is okay, but sucky service can never overcome the food no matter how good it is. I ordered online and had a 30 minute pickup. I give them extra time and and arrive five minutes late, I go to the to go window and there are two people in front of me, ten minutes later in at the window, anker awkwardly staring at the guy in the window for what seemed like several minutes before he says did you have an order, I'm thinking no, I just like standing in the to go window and staring at you. I give him my name and he disappears somewhere, 19 minutes later he reappears with my order. During his absence I'm just standing there, bo one said can I help you, have you ordered let me check on you or nothing, I'm just there trying to look like furniture again. I'm wanting to leave but I paid online so I'm stuck, 1 hour and 3 minutes I finally escape this place. If you are eating in maybe things might be better but if you need something to go carve an hour out of your life, I'm not sure why but yes have a free hour, never again for me though. And I just got home after all of that time my order is wrong, receipt is right order no where near, didnt get some stuff I ordered, and get extra stuff that I didnt, smdh. I don't really know where to begin so let's just go chronologically. We were seated promptly as the place was almost empty. I had high hopes as we were promptly given menus. Then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. Once the waitress finally came back, she took our drink orders, and we went ahead and ordered food as well. When the food finally came out, it was absolutely obvious that my pasta had been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. So far in my lifetime Thee absolute freaking worst red lobster I have ever been to in the many years I've been going to red lobster in a couple of different states. Please take your business elsewhere, and I'll explain why. Even the management, who served us, is terrible. My friend and I decided to eat there last night (5/20) at around 7PM. The store was not really packed, but it took a while for parties to get seated. They then told us it'd be a 25-30 minute wait. So, we decided to sit at the bar, a usual trick. We were seated and were actually taken care of by a manager: the worst mistake. The manager took our drink orders and slowly got them back to us. Then we waited ten minutes before we were even acknowledged for our orders. Another two people sat next to us in this time (important later). First of all, the rice had more flavor than the sea food, and the manager messed up our order: forgot the extra crab, and forgot the mashed potatos. The lobster had almost no taste and when we told the manager his response was, "How do you want me to handle it?" No apologies. The manager also grunted as an acknoledgment at times. However, he had a full conversation with the people next to us all about Auburn University and how he was a greek. I know entirely more about the manager and the ladies sitting next to us than about the food. The manager continued his conversation while we had to wait just to get a check. When he wasn't around, we asked a server who came by to help with drinks and such. We tipped him and thanked him because he had more customer service than the manager. Horrible restaurant. P.S. Do you want a seafood dinner that's pretty nice but not too expensive, come to Red lobster. Of course there are a lot better tasting places in Montgomery, but I honestly don't know where else to get lobster. Alabama in general has a lot of places that do crab legs and oysters, but not a lot of lobster places. Red lobster is great for kids, and my kid loves lobster and crab. Of course I could probably survive off the cheddar Bay biscuits alone. But the food is pretty standard. My wife and I went on Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant was well maintained and our waiter did an excellent job. I ordered a ship dish called Uncle Walts Shrimp something or other. It was described on the menu as sartaed and lightly fried. My mouth dropped opened as I received eighteen fried frozen butterfly shrimp that you can buy at any grocery store for about six dollars a box. I'm not a fan of frozen seafood. To any potential customers, I wish I could give this establishment less than a 1-star rating. My wife and I tried to grab a meal from this specific Red Lobster on 20 March, 2021 at around 8:35. We signed up for the wait and they informed us that it would be about 30 minutes until we were seated. We did not hear anything for a longer than 30 minutes, so at 9:10, we went inside of the restaurant and asked if there was an issue. The greeter basically told us that they may not have any more seats and commenced to seating another couple, who clearly signed the waiting list after we did. I informed the hostess that they could have told us that we would not be able to be seated 30+ minutes ago and if we knew that, we could have spent that wasted time finding another spot to eat at. Her responses were very rude and unprofessional. We spoke with a manager afterwards and she informed us that we would be seated immediately - after that long wait and that rude encounter with the hostess. It was 15 minutes from closing time and I was not going to eat in a place where the cooks may have to work a little longer than they expected - no upset people cooking food for me! We just departed the restaurant and they lost our business, for good. The whole ordeal was just extremely unprofessional and I think that the only reason that this establishment is still open is due to the limited eating options around Montgomery, AL. I would recommend eating elsewhere if you are thinking about Red Lobster (one may have to travel further out, but oh well), especially when referring to the location in Montgomery, AL.
