My mom is in town so she took us out to Red Lobster, which she no longer has in her city. We met around 5:00p on Thursday night. Not sure if it was the weather or the State Fair but the restaurant was rather quiet, which was good for us, able to sit and chat, not be hurried out. I don't know the last time I ate at a Red Lobster, I was pleasantly surprised here was a Beef & Chicken section. In the past I would just ask for a grilled chicken breast. The Bourbon Bacon Chicken did not disappoint! Server Nakia was friendly, maybe not attentive. My mom would have appreciated a water refill @ some point. It took a bit for the Cheddar Bay biscuits but we had a second basket shortly after that. The food was good and the setting was comfortable. The host was accommodating when he first wanted to seat us in the bar @ a booth and we stated we'd prefer a table. He said he'd check w the servers and then he showed us to a table. No picture but I appreciated that there was a garbage next to the the rest room area door....a place to throw the paper towel I will have used to open the door. I normally love Red Lobster especially the Triple Berry Sangria, but I was pretty disappointed at this location. The Drinks were made great and the Staff was friendly and professional, the food on the other hand was extremely bland with no seasoning. I am not sure if they just had an off night. But I was very shocked with the poor food quality at this location. The lobster had absolutely no seasoning or flavor, along with the butter dipping sauce. Tasted more like plain oil. Same thing with the steak, and was barely cooked. My friend asked for medium well and looked like she got medium rare. I asked for medium rare and looked like it was just rare and not cooked. Same with the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, the tail was still on the shrimp and the sauce was plain. The grocery store canned Alfredo has more flavor. Lobster flatbread, was decent but light on flavor. Only thing that tasted good was the seafood mushroom and the lobster mashed potato. Everything else was just sadly disappointing. Displayed nicely but no taste for how expensive it was. read more

We live in Woodbury and were in the mood for seafood; however the Red Lobster in Woodbury is horrible, so we decided to head to this one. We were not disappointed. Despite getting busy, the service was really good and the food was excellent. We ordered mozzarella sticks, clam chowder, the seaside shrimp trio, and the ultimate feast. The courses were perfectly timed, and everything came out hot and fresh. It was too much food, of course, so we took leftovers home, and they were delicious the next day. read more

The absolute worst dinner I've ever had. Service was not subpar. Came in was told there was a 25 minute wait and there were tables open everywhere. I understand that a host has to manage people, so servers are not triple sat, however, that staff was a mess. I sat at the bar and had a very nice server there. However, she was overworked. She was over serving people, and when I had ordered my dinner, unfortunately rolls and my salad came out at the same time that my dinner came out at, she had no idea or time to be able to space things out appropriately. My food showed up it was so salty. It was inedible. It was cold and my salad had the bottom of the bag of croutons poured on the top of my salad, so there was croutons dust all over and I was charged 550 for the salad! my dinner that cost $42 was absolutely inedible. It was the worst. No wonder they're closing their doors. Lastly, the TVs that are in the bar area need to be replaced. They're old, fuzzy and outdated. How can you expect to have clientele in there when you don't put money into your restaurants and into your staff, your poor bartender needed either a bar back or a Buser and she didn't have either. Unfortunately, your restaurant does not promote empowerment or success for your employees. Clean up your act. read more

Horrible experience. Number one I'm a veggie so this wasn't a great pick for myself from the start. My dead ordered a steak medium rare it came out way overdone. Thankfully they took it back and it came out correct and he genuinely enjoyed it. My grandpa got a steak as well but he doesn't always react well to certain seasonings on steak. Hence he had a bad reaction to the steak and literally almost threw up the soup he had eaten for an appetizer. I had the garden salad which was good but the $9 motz sticks were gross; they were thin and had a funky seasoning. The manager was kind and gave my dad a $35 gift card but that was incentive to make us come back. A free meal would of been better. Also not to forget my dad ordered a seafood mushroom appetizer that neither he nor my grandpa liked. Also the "buns" they give are garlicky and not good imo. read more

My daughter and I stopped in to satisfy her recent love of salmon. Staff was awesome and attentive. They did a great job making the experience fun for my daughter, she was able to pet a live lobster. Food was cooked as expected, hot, and delicious. I had the scallops which weren't amazing but also weren't bad. Broccoli and fries were good. I used to go to Red lobster at least every couple months but since my parents passed I haven't. I was very disappointed and how the quality of the food went down the portion size went down but the prices went up!!! There was no cheddar in the cheddar biscuits. The biscuits were also very dry. Didn't start out desiring Red Lobster, but after striking out at our intended place, we ended up here. Quite the welcoming atmosphere. Was greeted three times and were then escorted to our table by a very cheerful hostess. Decent lunch specials and decent prices for a quick lunch. All for under $22 before tip- not bad. Our server, Kathy was absolutely delightful. Some servers you can just tell that they have been doing it for awhile and that they have their own special style. She was just as nice as can be and genuinely friendly. Our cheddar bay biscuits were right out of the oven. J got quite busy with those as this is the only reason he likes coming to Red Lobster. Our entrees were fine. Not going to elaborate too much they are the typical run of the mill RL entrees. Caesar salad has a tad too much dressing, but that is really my only gripe. I was so disappointed.... My husband and I came here to eat for a late celebration for my birthday . Of course it was busy on a Saturday night and so we waited for about a good 20-30 mins before we were seated . The stuff mushroom was good and the mussle was good too but a little salty. But anyways, the steak was kind of dry . I ask for medium rare....it looked fully cooked.. also I was disappointed in the lobster...it was dry, very dry . My green beans were so overcooked and dry. Whatever sauce that came with my lobster dish was gross. It tasted like straight up oil ... The best was dessert, chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. After our dinner my husband and I felt like throwing up . We didn't feel good afterward. It was not worth our money at all . Too overpriced for everything. I was disappointed. Our party of 8 had a great time at the Red Lobster in Maplewood! Our server Thu was wonderful. We were that annoying table with multiple people ordering endless shrimp, and she stayed on top of our refills like a pro. We had shrimp refills at the table faster than we could finish our current plates. She brought new baskets of fresh biscuits before we even had a chance to ask. I had brought my daughter and son along for dinner. Waited about ten min and they called out my name.. table for 3. This group of for quickly went up that had the same name as mines goes up as Says... that's us, but we have four. So they got their seats, and I quickly noticed that others after me started getting called up. So I went up and asked if they called my name earlier..khat(kate) table for three??. They tell me yes we got you guys already. I tell them no you didn't, you gave my table to the group of four and I'm still waiting. So they apologized and got us a table quick. I can tell at that moment we have a bad waitress. So I told her can we start with appetizers first and we'll look at what we want for our entrees after. So we ordered our appetizers and she went to put it in. I'd say about five minutes later we were ready to put our entree orders in. She was nowhere to be found. She literally didn't come to our table to take our orders until the appetizers came out, which took about twenty minutes smh. So we put our orders in for our entrees and waited about another twenty or more minutes and quickly noticed she got our entrees wrong, but when I tried to look for her to get it corrected. She was again.. no where to be found. I had to get the attention from a different waitress to get her to correct it. She corrects my daughter's, and tells me that my sides I got they are making it now and if I wanted something different or wait. I told her I can wait. So I got the ultimate feast, my daughter got the seaside shrimp and my son.. his Mac and cheese. Now let me tell ya... my ultimate feast did not look like the ultimate feast nor the picture. It looked like a mini feast. My daughters seaside shrimp looked more for me than her...(slap in the face). Well we waited for my sides and of course.. they forgot about us again. I just don't like to keep asking for things to get corrected so I just let it be.. then finally or actual waitress that never bothered checking on us shows up and asks if we need boxes. The food was very tasty and all the necessary items (like shrimp sauce, sour cream, and the usual garlic-butter biscuits) were included. I've been putting off coming to this one for years. I'm old enough to have had the experience of the first openings, and it was really something special. We got there for lunch and the manager greeted us and held the door open. I walked into the dining room and my jaw dropped. This place actually had some class to it. The meal and the service kind of went hand in hand. Laura was so helpful with what can be a confusing menu at times. She explained about the crab fest features and lured me with a mouthwatering description of Alaskan Bairdi Crab. The claws are thicker and the meat is sweeter. She helped me crack them, I think I managed 3, and another waiter helped her. There is a lot of crab. So much that half wa for my dinner. I asked for some gloves and ended up eating the meal with them on. I was in crab heaven. Another best I ever had. Basil got the crab lovers dream which is snow and king and a softer shell. He cracked his own and made a mess all over the rug like a damn kid. This was our first meal of the day, so the salad with a delicious blue cheese dressing pacified us just fine. And of course so did the biscuits. I had a delicious iced tea and Basil loves the sweetened raspberry one. This may be the only Red Lobster I ever go to again. I don't want to jinx this rarity. I've had this a couple of times in the last year with the last time being a couple weeks ago with my wife and some friends. They make a nice atmosphere and provide a good menu. I had the lobster nachos though and they were not impressive. Had I made them at home, given my lack of talent, I would be pleased with myself. But that is what they tasted like, like I made them at home. The biscuits that everybody raves about I am turned off by the way I need to wash my hands after I touch them. They could make an equal or better tasting biscuit with far less fat/butter in it. I did have the clam chowder as an appetizer and I will give them props for that. It was good. 3 Stars for the food + 5 Stars for the service and those goddamn biscuits = 4 Stars I think I've been to a Red Lobster maybe once when I was a kid, and I haven't had any inclination to go back since. But after weeks of my boyfriend longingly mentioning that the AYCE Shrimp special was coming to an end, we went last night because we are almost out of food and I didn't feel like conjuring up some sort of dinner. Aside from those ridiculous biscuits, the best part was absolutely the service. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly in a genuine way and attentive in a not-intrusive way. He also knew the menu and the specials. What surprised/impressed me the most was when I asked what was the best preparation for the tuna, he said he wasn't sure as he had not tried it (and /or it was a new menu item, sorry I can't recall), so he went and checked with the kitchen and came back with an informed answer. He also asked me how it was -- and not in a just doing his job sort of way, and another server also asked me if it was worth trying. Red Lobster may be a big b(l)a(n)d chain serving up farmed fish for the masses, but at this particular location they seem to have some pride in what they do. Not at all what I was expecting, and almost the entire reason for me bestowing the ol RL with (an otherwise undeserved) 4 Stars. The other reason being those addictive biscuits. The caesar salads were decent. My sides of asparagus and green beans were pretty good. My tuna didn't seem cooked quite how I requested and wasn't fabulous, but it wasn't bad. Aside from salmon I mostly like my fish raw and in the form of sushi, so I may not be a good judge. My wine (Riesling) was unfortunately not good at all. My boyfriend went with repeat servings of two different flavors of shrimp -- sriracha and something else (scampi?) . He got his fill of shrimp, which was the whole point of this little adventure, so he was a happy camper. The sriracha ones were actually very good. Second best thing after those delicious biscuits. I have no hopes of returning to Red Lobster (in spite of those crazy biscuits) as I'm just not that into seafood and I mostly try to avoid chain restaurants. But next time my boyfriend is consumed by an insatiable appetite for shrimp, I suspect we'll be headed back to Ye Olde Red Lobster of Maplewood. But I may skip the seafood and inquire about the AYCE Biscuit special. read more

After much pestering from my sister who loves seafood more than I do, we met for lunch. Had a margarita- ehhh, was decent. Split the stuffed mushrooms and a lobster Fest platter with the mister. Two variations of lobster tails, and a lobster/crab Alfredo. The food was good, but I've definitely had better, have cooked better. Place was busy but I can't understand what the hype is. This Red Lobster has a nice layout to enjoy a quiet meal with friends. It also has a nice bar area with both seating and a comfortable bar to sit at and enjoy the game on TV. The lobsterina (large margarita) was just that, but seemed to lack the alcohol content. Tasty, though. Lobster meals are pricey, but the lobster and sirloin was exquisite and the cheddar bay biscuits (who doesn't love them) and salad portions allow me to take half a meal home. Staff was friendly. A chain, so what do you want? Nothing super special; run of the mill seafood place, run of the mill people line up for seafood, and the shrimp (all farm-raised) are edible.. The ONLY reason I have been there in past 6 months is when they have had some "fest." It is all quantity of over quality except for their biscuits, which are still good, and they have changed everything including the quality of their salads which used to be a LOT better. If you want special seafood, or a real seafood dining experience find somewhere in Florida or the East coast to dine at. read more
