I mean, it's Red Lobster. It has earned its mediocre reputation honestly. I've been to a few different locations in the past 2-3 years and thought I'd give it a shot and see how the new menu and turn around plan was going. Friday night, seated quickly with family of four. Interior is still pretty beat down, table had some wood pieces falling off. But in general the place was very clean and had a decent crowd. -Sever was very nice and attentive. -Food came out very slow.....took forever. -My cocktail was like drinking syrup. Wife's spritzer style was amazing! -Wife's shrimp combo was pretty good. Grilled, Coconut, baked potato. -Kids orders were decent enough, ya know for kids meals. -Cheddar biscuits were different, can't put my finger on it. Not bad, but not the same. -Poor hushpuppies--- while tasty were the size of small grapes lol I tried the seafood boil bag. You know the thing trying to compete with other boil places. I set my expectations level as "meh" and was still disappointed. Price was-----was not terrible comparatively------but I can tell you quality and quantity wise it way underperformed what you can get anywhere else from a seafood place. -lobster tail, overcooked -Potatos, undercooked. Hard -Sausage add on (like 1 billion mg of sodium) -Crab - pretty small clusters and really bendy vs. snappy -Shrimp. The staff was great. We went on Tuesday night for the crab legs special. Potatoes that came with the meal were perfect. My complaint is the actual crab legs. We had to literally work to get this little bit of crabmeat out! They would not crack even with the crab pliers. ITS like they were rubbet!! I did tell the server everytime she checked on us that we couldn't even get the meat out. My dear elderly friend literally gave up! She ate her salad and a biscuit. The restaurant is located right off major roads and has good parking. It's Red Lobster ambiance, token marine theme, clean, adequate in all respects, family and everyone friendly. My server was prompt, efficient, cordial and right on the edge of too attentive. I splurged with a self created platter. It came quickly, hot things hot, cold things cold. The biggest disappointment was that a side salad is now a "premium " side that you pay extra for. I know they are in financial trouble but that is chinchie and disappointing. The salad was good. If the scampi's sauce wasn't on the shrimp they would have tasted the same as the "grilled " shrimp. A charred wooden flat stick and a touch of char on the tail of each shrimp, but, just shrimp. Scampi was tame on the garlic. The lobster tails were cooked. The food was hot. The small baked potato was good. The biscuits good. It was a comfortably common seafood meal. I was taking care of an errand in the neighborhood so ran in mid-afternoon to this Red Lobster. I have to say the fish was very fresh. I just had the crunch fried flounder, pretty ordinary order; it was very good, extremely fresh and tasty, mild and crunchy. I was happy with that. I had a baked potato, it also was very fresh and tasty, on the small side... not tiny, but not as big as you'd like a restaurant baked potato to be, but very good. The first try at Cheddar Bay Bicuits was good but not great. But my server made it right and brought out some that were the usual off the scale fantastic. My salad was fine, but it didn't seem right that for a meal that comes with two sides they charge $2.49 extra substitute a salad for one of the sides... that just seemed kind of nitpicky nickel and dimey. I don't go here often as I'm hooked on PAPPADEAUXS but I can say that RED LOBSTER revamped their menu, cooking techniques, freshness of the food, and flavor profile. The calamari was different from the last time I had been here decades ago when they had smaller calamari and a whole bunch of mixed and fried veggies intertwined with the calamari. Their new incarnation was very good with the hot chili peppers being a nice twist. Whatever platter I ordered was good as well but the small shrimp seemed like they were Kroger brand, or Gortons or Van De Kamps out of the frozen food section. My spot PAPPADEAUXS would never take a short cut like this but in now way would I further try to compare these two restaurants as it would be an apple to oranges comparison. Two meals during lunch, a kids meal, two cocktails, and an appetizer before tip was over $100. I wasn't looking to spend that much for lunch but whatever, everything was good. If you go I recommend you using a coupon or special or something to keep the costs down. We're doing okay but not ballin outta control to be paying for $100 dollar lunches at RED LOBSTER of all places. We decided to come to this location for lunch. It was our first visit to this location and we were not disappointed! Two of us had the lunch special, which as was promised on the TV commerical just $19.95. First our waiter, Adam H, came out bearing famous hot biscuits. On Friday, June 27, 2025 approximately between the hour of 6:00-6:15 pm, a friend and I decided to have dinner at Red Lobster. The location was 6109 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, Ohio 43017. 1 (614) 210-0358. Once entering the Restaurant the greeter was exceptional. Once we were seated it took about maybe 10-20 minutes before a Waitress approached us with menus, had to ask 3-4 times for a glass of water with each time her reasoning was that she had forgotten. I then asked the Waiter if it would let her know that I needed to speak with her he kindly asked who. I had no idea she wasn't wearing a name tag, so I asked her why she shrugged up her shoulders gave me a slight grin. My response to her was in order to be a good Waitress , your Customer Skills should have kicked in the moment we sat own. Before being seated in her section another Waitress had approached us to be seated in her section but there was a booth by the window I asked if we could sit there, she said sure but she would not be our waitress and would get ours. Without any hesitation this young lady knew that she would be giving up what could have been a nice TIP. Once we received our menu's before selecting we asked the Waitress if it was still Happy Hour, she replied I don't know so we ordered the drinks and was told by her that if it was they would know up front. They who would know what. While looking over the dinner selections my friend and I had questions about some of the entree's we were interested in and not to my surprise she was clueless.. The meal I ordered was totally different From the picture shown on the menu cover. I am going to sum this up with my Excellent Knowledge of Customer Service. Customer Services can't be bought or something you can just Read from an Employer's Policy and Principals. Before I would hire anyone starting with Management and Employees I would decide on their first interview. Their appearance is helpful but not used to judge any other capabilities. I did speak with the Manager on duty offering no positive feedback on her performance as she frequently walked by rolling her eyes at my friend and I. Before I departed I asked her to come talk to me, gave her a little positive feedback, hugged her and left very disappointed. The Manager conducted this conversation at the entrance of the establishment, no privacy and in front of waiting to be seated customers. Without Proper Customer Service Training for ALL and I will say that again For All eligible employees you can watch some of your best customers slowly slip away. Our food and service was amazing! Our waitress Sheila was super patient with us, informative, and kind. The food was surprisingly very good. I had my doubts about quality, because it was nearing the end of the day, but I was impressed. My husband is also allergic to shellfish, but loves the biscuits here. We decided to hit up Red Lobster for dinner tonight while we still have one. Our server was spectacular. En route to the restaurant we discussed our concerns about the service since Red is going through some issues. No worries at Georgesville Rd. Our waitress and the others we could hear around us were top notch. We both got the Tuesday Special - one pound of snow crab legs, crispy potatoes, and a side of your choice for $20. A great bargain. You can get the crab legs steamed or doused in garlic butter. We got them with the garlic butter on the side, not sure why they aren't served that way. The crispy potatoes were very good. We both got broccoli which was lightly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I wasn't really sure what a pound of crab legs would look like, but no worries. There were plenty to keep us busy and fill us up. I have to say, I am rather diligent when it comes to getting every last morsel that crab legs have to offer. They were so, so good. I have to add that Cheddar Bay Biscuits RULE! They were as good as ever. I hope Red continues to operate this location so we never have to again worry about the availability of Cheddar Bays or the crab legs special. I felt we had a delicious and filling dinner (I took my potatoes home. There were so many) at a reasonable price, with absolutely impeccable service. We need to drop Red Lobster back into our night out rotation. Notes: We were seated at the first booth right inside the door, so we could not see how busy or how tidy the restaurant was. Our table and immediate area were clean. We didn't use the restrooms, so we can't comment. Also, we were too full for dessert, so no review there either. Head on over to Red Lobster while Corporate works on getting their act together. Help keep Red going. They're working hard for us at the Georgesville Rd location. After my last review, the company got a hold of me about it telling me that retraining happened and I was sent a gift card to give it another try. This time I thought I would just try here at lunch to see if I see improvement. I will say the service I got was just as good, as you see, I took another star off. I was greeted as I walked in by the strong smell of cat pee. Both out side and around the host stand smelled and after living with my ex husband's too many problem cats (1 reason I was free to find EBS's love), I know that smell. I even smelled it leaving. Can give rice on a $8 lunch special but not your major shrimp promo???. I ordered a salad also to have a fair test. Salad was the best thing this day. Maybe I lucked out not having the rice the last time. So bland and over cooked. The broccoli was barely cooked. The garlic cheese biscuits was still drier and not baked all the way. I was so happy that my server didn't mind getting that wonderful maple BBQ sauce for me to use on the shirmp , it made the rice eatable. I did take a skewer of shirmp, half the broccoli, and 2 biscuits home as usual. I even got a take out of that BBQ sauce when she got me the box. I told you the service is a saving grace of this location SECOND time was the charm for the broccoli - 25 seconds in the microwave and 5 minutes in a toaster oven for the biscuits. Much better, even the 1 minute microwave wild rice cup was a great improvement on that I was served at Red Lobster. That should be a crime for this national chain. I will try the Sawmill location next week to see if I can find the quality I learned to expect from the many times I ate at RL for over 30 years in SE Michigan. I am willing to drive 13 miles farther to give this beloved chain another chance, but will not waste any more calories at this location. Our credit union app showed charge went through but manager Taylor convinced us to let her run our card again assuring us one charge would drop off. I got a Cesar salad with my meal and it had a horrible stale refrigerator taste. Our server saw that I didn't eat my salad and offered to get me a cup of soup instead. Not a fan of chain versions of seafood but it was very fair. Monday evening 2 of us got a seated right away. Very polite and attentive service. Clam Chowder was extremely thin, bland, zero clam pieces. I had the salmon that came with a skewer of shrimp (3), and scallops (4) this was all done perfect, hot and fair size. Rice and vegetables were over cooked badly. Princess had the steak and fried shrimp. Steak had way too much pepper and wasn't cooked to the requested temp. 'Walt's favorite' shrimp were lightly breaded, large and fried perfectly. 2 Berry Sangrias, salad, and the cheddar biscuits made for a decent meal but not spectatular.
